They do like to worry us. Hopefully just something he's eaten has disagreed with him.

Considering the wildlife my lot eat, I'm amazed they don't get Ill more often.

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 24/01/2022 11:28

He does love a good throwing up session, it's his default. I just know if I didn't book the appointment he would be dramatically ill about 30 second after they shut

Agreed - and of course the contrary also applies. The fact that you have booked the appointment means he'll perk up 5 minutes beforehand and the vet will find nothing wrong Grin

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 24/01/2022 11:34

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats obviously. I fully expect him to be sick all the way there and perk up when he sees his fave vet and she goes "oh OLLIE"

I've got an awful feeling I may lose one of my menagerie tonight 💔. Anyone got any experience of kidney disease in a relatively young cat? He's only 3 Sad

Oh gosh I really hope not. Is it an inherited condition with him being so young.

I have experience with kidney injury but not a degenerative disease sorry. Ivy was poisoned at 18 months and was in stage 4 kidney failure. She recovered with lots of fluids and 2 weeks in hospital.

So they know what's caused it? Is there nothing they can do?

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 24/01/2022 16:34

Oh @Justonedayatatime11 Sad

I've just had a text from a neighbour on the next road saying she thought they had rats so set up a camera
Paws was eating fish fingers out a bin bag Blush

This is the problem with so many cats isn’t it? There’s more to lose. I’m so sorry, 3 is no age to be poorly is it?

Defiantly41 · 24/01/2022 16:46

@Justonedayatatime11 no real experience, my cat that lived to 20 had kidney disease from mid teens onwards from high blood pressure and hyperthyroid but managed with pills.

Thanks to you

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/01/2022 17:46

Apparently this is how I eat crisps now, with a pie bald chaperoning each one.

Ollie has perked up, eaten and is prancing about screaming at me to go out
I have cancelled the vet, and bollocked him

This little madam is growing fast, and eating me out of house and home...

Several of my cats have really liked crisps. I had to share the last of Aldi's sour cream and onion pretzels with my piebald boy at Christmas. I couldn't keep his head out of the packet. I did get grunty purring as compensation.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/01/2022 18:34

Those ears need a lot of calories.

Shhhh Grin I'm waiting for paws to turn up so I can give him a telling off for bin diving at 3am and waking people up

I tried Toad with my tablet and animal videos but every time he hit the screen, it caused the video to pause. He was not amused. He used to watch cat friendly videos on my TV and try to walk round the back when the mice ran off screen. He's not impressed since I committed the cardinal sin of putting the TV on the wall.

Frankenstein and Fred have decided they like sleeping on an empty bathroom cupboard thing that's in my spare room so I put it on its side with a couple of teddy bear throws so they could have more space. Now they won't go near it, the floorboards are way more comfortable 🤔

TalkedTooMuchStayedTooLong · 24/01/2022 19:24

@Fluffycloudland77 😹

Papergirl1968 · 24/01/2022 20:36

Athena, we used to have a cat who liked watching horse racing and show jumping, and looked behind the TV to see where they'd gone when they galloped or jumped out of shot. He liked snooker on TV too but couldn't understand where the balls had gone. Grin

I am now having cuddles from Raven who was not impressed when I mentioned that some cats on here have been put on a diet. She is still adamant that she is "big boned" and has thick fur.
Frederick is just at the top of the stairs, annoyed that I woke him up by walking near him.
It's a good job I have no intention of ever living with someone again. The tribe barely tolerate me living in their house,I think anyone else here would result in a full on turf war 😁

All the best, Just Flowers

I think toddler has experience with this btw.

coastergirl · 24/01/2022 23:09

Gosh, lots going on!

@Justonedayatatime11 which one is poorly? Sending all my love and best wishes.

@Supersimkin2 excellent photo of Cap'n.

@MaybeHeIsMyCat how is Ollie? Have you collared Paws yet to tell him off for bin diving?

Sorry to those I've missed!

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 24/01/2022 23:26

He's stopped dramatically flopping around and has demanded food Hmm
No sign of paws, probably sleeping off his fish fingers somewhere
