You know what, he's loved to bits and snacked senseless and that's what matters. When he got back from hosp we rubbed heads for a good 30 min cos we didn't think we'd see the other one again. Best cuddle of my life. The solid benevolent warmth in my arms - nothing means as much.
We don't know how old Cap'n is, but he was homeless and bloody ill for a while. Now he is an adored, respected and cherished family member with his own property and leisurely lifestyle. He deserves every bit of it.
Everyone who meets him recognises his beauty and charm (maybe not the vet nurse). He is an established, secure gentleman cat who is admired and esteemed by all in the community.
I want that for him for a bit longer. But I don't want him to suffer, and with any luck this ailment means he won't.
