For anyone unfamiliar, this is a story of a war of attrition over the last two years waged by a fat stripey cat on the innocent and long suffering members (feline and human) of the Grumpy household. Now running at almost 3000 posts, clearly TC would give Grendel a run for his money

All literary references welcome, we've already had Shakespeare, Saki, James Thurber, The KJV bible, Judith Kerr, EM Forster, Benny Hill and of course our own Supersimkin2 (to name but a few).

Apparently the vet loves TC and he always behaves impeccably when he's taken in.
I don't believe this. We use the same vet and she always tells us thst Basil is her favourite cat)

Last time I was at the vet's surgery, a dog saw the vet come into the waiting room & nearly pulled his owner off his feet in an attempt to get TO the vet for a fuss. Animals adore this vet - even my DSis's old cat behaved himself for Nigel, and that cat could be an evil bastard.

Dickens loved his cats. He acquired at least four - the gang patted his quill out of his hand when he was trying to earn a few pennies for catsmeat. At night they slept together. One had kittens in his bed.

I also closed my door to poor, innocent, starving waif kitties like you. A life of cruelty and neglect and a lack of compassion for starving kitties with their cold little nosy-wosies pressed against doors and their freezing pawsie wawsies has led to my punishment. In death, I wear the chain I forged in life. I must carry heavy sacks and sacks of Dreamies, kibble and kitty litter as I make my wretched way across the lands. No rest, no peace.
