Does your cat follow the “if I fits, I sits” rule?

Mine doesn’t. I have several boxes at the moment thanks to my online shopping addiction amazon, and yet Toots has shown no interest what so ever in sitting in them.

She would much rather lay in the windowsill, on the floor or sprawled on my bed

My DS recently came very worried to say our cat couldn't be found anywhere then he and DD launched a big search and found her in a carrier bag.

Though she's more into stretch and take the whole place for yourself. This is her having taken my pillow space trying to push DH's pillow off with her bum - she succeeded and had the whole of the pillow space on a double bed. Then DH moved down the bed feet hanging off and moved his pillow down and the cat moved onto the pillow.

She loves a box.

Our cat also loves to sit on a laptop especially during DHs work conference calls.

Box, bag, any item of clothing or piece of paper. They get very upset if you try to move them.

The other day I got a work bag out of the wardrobe to prepare to visit the office, turned around and there was a cat sleeping on it.

Oh yes. She also picks very strange places to doze off. A box needs to be down for less than 5 seconds and she's in it or on it.

Also, bits of paper on the floor. If one of the DC leaves a bit of colouring on the floor then Astrid will five on top of it instantly and go to sleep.

Our cat loves a good box.

She's currently upset because dd2's school shoe box is too small for her to fit into. She stood with her front paws in it. Stood with her back paws in it. Accepted the inevitable and stalked off.

Mine will sit even if they don't fit. They'll squish themselves anywhere. I may be back with some pictures later...

I have heard that you can draw a shape on the floor and cats would sit in it.

We did it. It worked. Great fun. One child left stealth masking tape squares on carpets around the house. Was hilarious watching the cat walk past and come back like "well, hello, box like shape"

Our current cats (brothers) don't do the box thing either. I keep leaving empty boxes out thinking the cats will love that. Then remember 2 days later as I trip over them that those cats have been dead for 10 years.

One of ours, the little black one used to like sitting in a small wicker basket - meant for bread rolls! Also liked to sit on the hosepipe, plus would sit in the Ali baba basket (dirty washing) and in the airing cupboard. I used to wander why the towels took an effort to remove until a small black triangular head appeared!

Yes. Usually on my study notes. Or my books, open or shut she's not fussed. Or my bag. Trying to get a pic but she always moves when I try!
