Does Charlie have a preference for Shutters?. Is it a sign you have to replace all window coverings with chic black shutters.

My dn has ordered them for her house, I literally cannot wait to see them up.

If I ever get a spare £3K I’m having them 😀

Supersimkin2 · 14/06/2020 09:31

If those shutters are the ones I'm thinking of Fluffy, they last forever so £3k is a bargain. Surely you could get them made for less? only cupboard doors, they are. Old skool ones much smarter than the fiddly blind ones.

Four months exactly today with Captain V, who is trampling me and purring after celebration quadruple breakfast.

Allergictoironing · 14/06/2020 09:44

Does that mean in another month he will get quintuple breakfast Lana?

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/06/2020 10:50

Oh I have tried really I have. They are so expensive Sad & we have other things that need doing. I’ll never forget a thread on here years ago where someone got a quote for their house and it was £10k. Poor woman was in shock.

Quintuple breakfast sounds fab. More like a brunch.

Supersimkin2 · 14/06/2020 15:38

Sod it then, you can get a lot more happiness somewhere else.

Quintuple breakfast a sort of buffet, yum.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/06/2020 16:08

Yes. Like lvt flooring. Pet proof apparently.

Horse, stable door springs to mind.

Supersimkin2 · 14/06/2020 20:09

Not only one horse in the world needing a stable, though.

Just caught sight of Capn in the summer sun. Fuck he's fat.

I'm supposed to be going back to work properly tomorrow (have been cleaning and tidying in situ this week). I'm not convinced, to be honest. We can't very well shriek No Donations from the Dead but this area has one of the highest Covid mortality rates in the UK, sorry, planet.

Papergirl1968 · 14/06/2020 22:30

Think u will be busy, Lana. Everyone has been using lockdown to have a good clear out. I found a pair of dd2’s sandals from when she was about five - she’s just turned 16! Blush

Supersimkin2 · 14/06/2020 22:54

My dear, I fear you are right as ever @Papergirl1968. Grin. Some of us have been using lockdown to eat to be honest - hoping to lose a bit from all the hauling.

11 years is nothing for a donation - stuff a century old comes in daily.

Justonedayatatime11 · 14/06/2020 22:58

He's obsessed! My poor bloody curtains Angry

That face! Grin

Justonedayatatime11 · 14/06/2020 23:26

Caught in the act!

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/06/2020 07:27

Is it the height he likes?. Would this, or something like this diy’d distract him from his life of drapery destruction?.

Floor to ceiling scratch post

Justonedayatatime11 · 15/06/2020 08:59

He's got one Fluffy and it doesn't make any difference! He seems to enjoy swinging from the curtains more Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/06/2020 09:06

Swings are fun. Your poor house.

swampytiggaa · 15/06/2020 09:32

@Supersimkin2 do you work in a charity shop? I do 🙂 ours are opening in phases... phase one today not heard about the others yet. Ours will be one of the last I think... we are tiny and not very profitable plus we have no backroom so all donations have to be carried upstairs.

I’m hoping we don’t get the call before my plaster comes off 😬

Supersimkin2 · 15/06/2020 11:29

I volunteer Grin and have done for years for charity, not least in The Shop. There really is nothing like a good chazza for interest - All the World is There, no day the same etc.

I am still not at work due to Capn kipping behind my back, he won't get up.

swampytiggaa · 15/06/2020 11:35

I can’t imagine we’ll get many of our volunteers back for a long time. They’re mostly over 70 and generally have health issues. Our area (south west) hasn’t had the first peak yet...

Allergictoironing · 15/06/2020 11:52

News this morning was showing cars queuing to get in to shopping centers, I think they are mad. I WAS due to see my beloved Chiropractor this morning and was dreading having to drive past the Bluewater turning - but the car decided to die horribly so back has been cancelled & waiting for home start.

Having an "interesting" couple of days all told - slipped in the shower yesterday & fell half out of the bath (just a bit of bruising & aches today from that), car today, then dropped my mobile & damaged the casing calling the Chiro to say I couldn't make it.

Papergirl1968 · 15/06/2020 12:08

Oh no, Allergic.
On the subject of bizarre accidents, I stung myself in the face with a nettle on Saturday - that was painful!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/06/2020 13:18

Lana - please do take care. I have been worrying about your sojourns to M&S let alone going back to work! Capt'n V. and we all need you!

Supersimkin2 · 15/06/2020 14:36

I am home. Sad no PPE in shop. Manager has frightful Dickensian hacking cough, Gothic echoing through three floors. Fled.

On the upside, someone flytipped a brand new habitat garden chair outside our rival, the other charity shop which is still closed. Looks lovely on my balcony. Grin Grin

Supersimkin2 · 15/06/2020 14:54

@swampytiggaa I agree, this year will be crunch time for a lot of charities. Many shops can never reopen.

I know several charity area managers (highly paid, natch) who say breezily oh the volunteers don't do much, only old ladies, and are about to realise the place grinds to a halt in 24 hours without Elsie aged only 92.

No volunteers, no shop.

swampytiggaa · 15/06/2020 15:19

I can see me having to work at the shop in the next town tbh short term... to make up for the lack of volunteers. Their shop will be easier to make safe too.

QueenCT · 15/06/2020 15:27

He wants my hair bobble. That's in my hair
