Is he a peat man (island) or more of a Highland/Speyside man? I agree that Glenmorangie is a safe bet. I like both and I like Glenmorangie.

I'm sure that Mr C would approve.

Justonedayatatime11 · 26/09/2019 14:28

Lana I haven't forgotten what I said to you, I'm just up to my eyeballs in my own cat conundrum this week! Sorry Thanks

Supersimkin · 26/09/2019 16:16

Glenmorangie it is! I only like gin.

Thanks so much Just.

London is revving up for another monsoon - skies are about a foot off the ground and jet black. Dog walkers starting to scuttle & looking bad-tempered.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2019 17:00

Of course you have to do the traditional gift giving dance of oh I can’t, no I insist, oh go on then you’re too kind.

It’s compulsory.

Supersimkin · 26/09/2019 17:21

Mr C always avoided that. As treats go, I have never met a more straightforward recipient.

Nurse Lee is a bit the same. Last time he screamed 'Lovely!' and rushed off clutching the box before the traffic warden gave him a ticket. Unlike Mr C, however, he texted me to say thanks. He's always point blank refused petrol money etc tho.

Goodness me this flat is quiet. My arms feel like there's a black hole between them where there should be a solid lump of tabby, head swivelling over my shoulder to scope out food.

Papergirl1968 · 26/09/2019 17:41

(((Lana)))

Supersimkin · 26/09/2019 19:59

I'm fine, just moaning. How is Matt today? More Socks love?

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2019 20:14

Life’s very empty without the cats to tell us we’re useless owners. I went out shopping this morning. He was fuming with me.

You’ll need another one in time.

Papergirl1968 · 26/09/2019 20:49

I’ve had one of the worst days of my life (i threw my daughters out) so thank goodness for cats and their love.
Socks went to the vet for her vaccination and clung to me, poor little mite. As soon as we got home she rushed upstairs to tell Matt what an awful experience she’d had.
I was going to book her in for neutering next week as a couple of their staff have said any time from four months, but then another vet nurse said she’s such a skinny little thing that it would be better to wait another couple of months.

Supersimkin · 26/09/2019 21:13

Paper what a rubbish day. Grim. Flowers Cake Wine

Dear me, other people can be so hard. Stick to your guns, it's the only way forward. For now just breathe, I know that's a horrible cliche but it works. A bit.

Something tells me Matt and Socks may find it emotionally appropriate to sleep in bed with you. After their show of support, you'll be so shattered in the morning you may not care any more.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2019 21:20

There’s only so much you can do Paper. That must have been awful for you. I’m sorry it got to that point.

Papergirl1968 · 26/09/2019 21:41

I feel so sad it’s come to this but I know I’m on the verge of a breakdown.
They were very damaged kids when I got them, and for ten years I’ve struggled to instil boundaries and get them to show me any respect, but they’ve stolen from me, lied to me, smashed up the house, assaulted me, caused a rift with my sister, and effectively destroyed my life.
Socks is a night owler unfortunately who gallops round and round and occasionally across my bed at night. Poor Matt likes his sleep but she keeps dancing around him and tapping at him. No wonder he loses his temper with her sometimes.

Supersimkin · 26/09/2019 22:33

Socks will grow up and calm down. My parents' new kitten laps the bedroom every night, pisses on slumbering DF and settles down to kip on DM's face at 3am prompt. It's getting better tho'.

Paper that's really sad to read. It's not your fault, and you know it. Maybe not theirs either, but there comes a point when that's no longer important for now. So many adoptions are 'disrupted'. Loads of families, all made up of perfectly ok individuals, can't cope with each other at close range.

You've supported the girls through the crucial years. No one can ever take what you gave them away. Ever. That matters the most. Now they're independent, if you're all better being apart, so be it.

Do something next week re GP to conserve your own health.

Papergirl1968 · 26/09/2019 23:10

Unfortunately I’m already on the highest dose of happy pills!
The house seems very quiet tonight.
Just waiting for Matt to come in and we can go to bed.

Supersimkin · 26/09/2019 23:36

You need talk, not tablets. And a good long rest - your whole system needs to come out of emergency mode, and that takes time, you can't just flick a switch.

Is Matt in yet? He's on patrol chatting with the other cats.

Papergirl1968 · 26/09/2019 23:54

Yes, just dragged him in. I suspect he had a pal as he showed little interest in the packet of Dreamiest I showed him and the little sod then went to bite me when I picked him up. No gratitude for not leaving him out on a wet cold autumn night!
God help me, the zoomies have started. Two cats at 100mph like a herd of elephants galloping round the house.

Supersimkin · 27/09/2019 00:00

Quick, get into bed while they're zooming so you get at least a chance at a bit of duvet.

Gratitude?! Not any cat's style, is it.

Papergirl1968 · 27/09/2019 00:10

No indeed. Attitude - or catitude - more like.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/09/2019 06:55

Asbo goes to bite dh when he scoops him up off the bed at night, never does it to me because he knows who he can get away with it.

When he does zoomies it sounds like he’s moving furniture.

Supersimkin · 27/09/2019 07:01

He's assessing the furniture to sell while you're out. And the white goods. Grin

YesQueen · 27/09/2019 08:16

Put ollies food down this morning and he looked at it then looked at me
Me "are you seriously demanding seasoning on your food?"
Put a squirt of £££ salmon oil on
Ollie tucks in
Me HmmConfused

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/09/2019 08:37

Salmon oil eh? Linky?.

Papergirl1968 · 27/09/2019 08:53

Lol, Lana, I hadn’t thought of that.Smile I did get two cats on the bed and some cuddles though.
Socks has started turning her pretty little nose up when offered cat food. Only when she can see there’s nothing else on offer and that Matt is tucking in so therefore it’s presumably not poison will she begrudgingly eat it.

YesQueen · 27/09/2019 09:04

It's called pets purest Scottish salmon oil, on amazon

Danger - can be habit-forming.

Thinking of all those on TLT going through hard times right now. Flowers
