Hello cat people! Haven’t seen the cat threads before. Official name Yoshi (makes by friend who used to be his slave) but I call him Cat Puff, or Mr Floofy Floof or Captain Whiskers or Sir Floofs-a-lot or... you get the picture.

He’s been very neglected since DD was born, the first 3 months were awful, when she wasn’t waking us up every 2-3 hours he would be! At 9 months he’s starting to cuddle with us again and come back on our bed. He still loves getting in her cot or in the basket under the pram, or in her inflatable circle thingy though! DD LOVES him but doesn’t understand stroking obviously, more ‘grab a chunk of hair’. He’s VERY stupid and extremely docile luckily. I’ve never had a really thick cat before, he’s a sandwich short of a picnic...

Anyone have any tips for teaching tiny humans to play nicely and keeping her safe? He sometimes gets a bit weird and swipes at things so obviously keep a very close eye and don’t let her too close, but soon she’ll be crawling after him!

No idea because we are still teaching our 3 year old who won’t leave her alone 😑😑😑

That is a great photo though @Foxton20 😂

YetAnotherSpartacus · 12/11/2019 10:52

TWINS!!!!

Papergirl1968 · 12/11/2019 11:25

Woken at 6am by socks throwing up on my cream bedroom carpet approx 3 inches from the tiled en-suite. Sigh.

Supersimkin2 · 12/11/2019 11:54

Yoshi heartbreaker! He'll teach DD how to serve him, never you mind.

coastergirl · 12/11/2019 12:10

My four year old has just started taking an intense interest in the cats. He can't get near Bertie, but Walter doesn't seem too bothered. C likes to mimic whatever Walt is doing. Baby is fascinated by the cats and finds them hilarious, so that could be interesting when he's on the move.

ClaudiaNaughton · 12/11/2019 13:44

Having huge noisy building works done so Claudiecat has to be an indoor cat for a few months. One tray downstairs and another upstairs. (Always uses both)!
Food and water in various places up and down (so she can escape some noise). She is NOT A HAPPY CAT. I do lots of playing when builders leave at 5. Any tips welcome.

TheSilveryPussycat · 12/11/2019 13:47

I have vivid childhood memories of pulling the cat's tail and getting scratched (gently, as it were). Did this stop me doing it? No it didn't.

(Sorry, not much help re training little people. )

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/11/2019 14:53

Have you given her zylkene? You sprinkle it in their food.

coastergirl · 12/11/2019 17:17

Bertie stole the cheese from C's sandwich, without either of us seeing. Stealth cat!

Supersimkin2 · 12/11/2019 17:52

Very gifted, Bertie.

Little K is on M&S roast chicken. Approved. I took the skin off and shredded it a bit for his tiny baby teeth. Then I looked at my ripped hands and realised he could cope with a large live bird if necessary.

I think the tiny new boy is relaxing - he's kipped all day (horrible here) curled up and not woken up when I've tottered in and out.

Justonedayatatime11 · 12/11/2019 19:10

But the question is Lana.... are you keeping him?? Grin

swampytiggaa · 12/11/2019 19:30

My incredibly stupid cats think they still fit in the top of the cat tree. Well they do but only by lying on top of each other 😂😂😂

I would remind you the agreement was FOSTERING. But he can't possibly go anywhere at the moment, he's learning to trust me and the delicatessen aisle.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/11/2019 19:46

He might not want to be a house cat either.

ClientListQueen · 12/11/2019 19:48

Tiny baby teeth GrinGrin I snorted at that and Ollie stomped off in disgust

Justonedayatatime11 · 12/11/2019 19:49

Nothing wrong with a failed foster!

Foxton20 · 12/11/2019 20:03

Demelza has had a breakdown and cracked open the wine..

She’s so desperate to go out, I’m terrified of the thought, she’s way too small. She’s due her next jab next week 😑😔

She’s wishing she’d ticked the “retired child free couple” on the adoption forms isn’t she?

Ours didn’t go out till he was 6 months. It was supervised, I can’t remember when he went out unattended but we were nervous wrecks till he came back.

Supersimkin2 · 12/11/2019 21:01

He's found Personal Spot on Sofa.

Progress. I am Not Allowed.

I don't think he'd mind being a house cat, he loves kipping and snuggling. But I shall be guided by what's best for him. He is a lovely kitten and deserves the best.

swampytiggaa · 12/11/2019 21:12

My 3 are 7 months and don’t go outside. They seem pretty happy bird watching and stripping wallpaper and intimidating the big cats through the window.

Lots of people park in our road for town so I’m nervous about them going out the front and we have open land to the back frequented by people walking dogs off leads and it does get a bit frantic out there which makes me nervous.

I’ll think again in the spring 😊

PotterHead1985 · 13/11/2019 12:44

I've done it again.

I'm going to be owned by a new little fluffy kitten overlord BlushGrin

Supersimkin2 · 13/11/2019 14:33

Oh now tell us more....

YesItsMeIDontCare · 13/11/2019 14:52

Oh blimey! How did I miss the pictures of MasterK? How gorgeous is he? A failed foster is nothing to be ashamed of 😁.

Tip for cats who can't go out - see photo.
