Oh and she had a cat soup today as well.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/10/2019 22:03

Mine was on 400g if kitten food at that age. Plus whatever he could skank off dh.

ClientListQueen · 25/10/2019 22:20

Paws is in DA house. And not wanting to leave Confused
The window is open but he's just kind of sat here hunched down and blinking at Ollie

ClientListQueen · 25/10/2019 22:21

@Papergirl1968 Ollie is 3.2-3.4kg and happily demolishes 3-5 pouches a day plus dry. Look for high meat content to fill up in the dry food

coastergirl · 25/10/2019 22:49

@Papergirl1968 I'm clueless about how much food cats should have because mine are just constantly topped up on dry food. A friend's mum is a vet and told me a few years ago that wet food is bad for their teeth. I don't know if it's true but mine have been on dry ever since and are healthy according to the vets. Anyway I came on to say that Bertie had a very rough start to life. Three kittens found abandoned with no mum and no human contact. They needed a lot of rehab before they could get homes and even then it took a long time before Bertie would come to us. He's an absolute food monster and apparently so are his siblings. Whenever we eat he's on our shoulders trying to get the food. Walter on the other hand couldn't care less. So maybe it's to do with early life experiences?

Papergirl1968 · 25/10/2019 22:49

It doesn’t sound like I’ve been giving her anywhere near enough!
I feel really bad now. Poor starving kitties... Blush
I just given them another pouch and a drop of the cream I’m just having with an apple crumble.

Papergirl1968 · 25/10/2019 22:52

Aww, poor Bertie, that’s so sad.
Socks isn’t too bad with begging from me but will try it on with dd. She knows she’s a soft touch! X

Aww. Ollie looks like a panther.
And tenderly cradling Paws’ face! 😻

ClientListQueen · 25/10/2019 23:14

He's not as big as he looks - he's sat on toothless cuddly toy!!

Papergirl1968 · 25/10/2019 23:21

Oh his lookalike toothless toy!
That explains why he looked like he’d tripled in size overnight Grin

Supersimkin2 · 26/10/2019 08:40

If Socks isn't getting fat, then keep on feeding. Mr C was a bastard for greed, he loved it, and I am soft touch so my advice useless, but carry on and do a worm pill this weekend just in case.

Matt is mature, and a full master cat. This business of cats only supposed to weigh an oz or something is rubbish. Weight is only an issue when they get too big to lift, know it and become uncontrollably 'self-expressive'.

coastergirl · 26/10/2019 09:42

My boys are being very cute this morning.

Aww that’s such a sweet pic.
Matt seems incredibly heavy to lift at the moment, Lana but I think that’s just in comparison to Socks. They have very different body types!
I love Socks to bits and wouldn’t be without her but I’m finding feeding two cats so expensive compared to one, which I realise is a silly thing to say as clearly it’s going to cost twice as much.
Now dd has got a job I’m hoping she’ll take on some of the cost of feeding her kitten.

Supersimkin2 · 26/10/2019 15:52

It is pricy, and that's not counting the deli treats. Still, money could not be better spent. When I'm skint it's reduced sandwiches all the way, foodwise it's miles easier to cut human bill than cat bill.

Why not consider these Classic Catowner Dishes, family favourites for both species:

  1. The All-time Hit of All Time: baked potato with cheese and beans.
  2. Value fishfingers and baked tomatoes.
  3. Ham sandwich (you get the bread)
  4. Risotto with pea and ham (you know what happens)
  5. Macdonalds value fries (get mayo sachet for cats).
Papergirl1968 · 26/10/2019 17:58

😂 Lana.
You could write a book called Thrifty Meals For Cat Owners On A Budget or Bargain Meals For Humans and Cats To Share.
I did think about having egg and chips tonight actually before finding fish in the freezer. It’s either one ginormous fish or two smaller ones which have welded together at some point. Enough for me and the cats anyway!

Supersimkin2 · 26/10/2019 19:23

Cat Cuisine: Delicious Dinners for ALL the family

would sell.

If Matt was the cover star, we would all be millionaires on the back of the miraculous media sensation. Well, we might make a couple of k.

Ooh, fish, lovely, nothing better than feeling skint and discovering a promising frozen lump. Actually, being skint can be a blessing in disguise as it forces you to eat out of the cupboards and freezer before it all gets too old.

ClientListQueen · 26/10/2019 20:36

I need the value tips now I'm feeding two cats twice a day. Including one who eats like pac man

Supersimkin2 · 26/10/2019 20:43

Oof. I bet Munch's humans are now planning the Caribbean for Xmas Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/10/2019 21:22

Coaster Has Bertie had his ear tip removed?. They look so cute together.

Ours never snuggled.

ClientListQueen · 26/10/2019 21:23

Cats protection pondered he can't get in at night (he uses the window at home) and that's why he hangs about longer
He also doesn't really understand strokes/fuss

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/10/2019 21:45

What’s the point of having them if you don’t let them in?. Apart from the increased cleanliness aspect, obvs.

ClientListQueen · 26/10/2019 21:49

A lot of people seem to shut cats out at night. I imagine during the day the window is open maybe? But yeah I stroke him and he just kind of sits there or shrinks away from my hand

Papergirl1968 · 26/10/2019 21:58

The fish went down well with all of us.
I’m currently eating orange Smarties out of an orange packet which looks suspiciously like Dreamies, while the cats look at me accusingly. They clearly think I’m nicking their treats.
Matt has just nosed his empty food dish around the floor to emphasise the point.

Papergirl1968 · 26/10/2019 22:15

I wonder if cats can make out colours? If so, no wonder they’re confused Grin
