Thanks. He is in overnight! Tonsillitis!!! Poor little cat. Having IV antibs and hopefully released tomorrow.

Was asleep when I rang to check at 6pm. Something of a relief after the last 'Charles Bronson' incident there. The vet wishes to 'discuss his notes' tomorrow.

Will have to bribe all vet staff to see him again, I expect.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2018 19:51

Oh dear Lana, he is going through it.

LanaorAna2 · 17/12/2018 20:06

Just a little fudgy kitten, sniff.

On the upside he didn't snuff it under the anaesthetic. I keep thinking he is here and wondering why he's not screaming for food and kicking mugs off the shelf. Little tinker.

The flat is deafeningly silent. No snoring, no bawling, no peculiar scratching noises and none of the Conspicuous Presence every 20 minutes when he feels a little bit peckish.

I have been to the lavatory unhindered. :(

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2018 20:21

I was thinking your house must be uncomfortably quiet.

LanaorAna2 · 17/12/2018 20:46

Eating reduced pasta. No massive stripy arm flailing across the plate, claws out, trying to hook the bits of ham over to his side of the sofa. No Voice of Reason, which is ignored, no Firm Vocal Intervention, no grunty purring when he finally is given a bit of ham. No roar of contentment, no loud belch from under the sofa.

Can hear myself chew.

Off to cold bed. Will ring hosp in morning.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/12/2018 08:38

Any news????

LanaorAna2 · 18/12/2018 10:43

He'S BACK!!

We're on twelve pills a day.

Yep. Tonsillitis, inflamed lungs, asthma.

I haven't got a single pill in yet.

We are in bed, recovering from The Big Hospital Night. Poor Mr C, he was really shaken up. His little head has finally gone onto the paws, a tiny purr erupted a moment ago.

I am not moving, I will stay with him all day.

cozietoesie · 18/12/2018 10:55

12??Shock

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/12/2018 10:56

Oh Dear. Poor Mr C. Poor Lana. Flowers.

LanaorAna2 · 18/12/2018 11:29

Thanks so much both.

Yep.

MASSIVE. Time for a festive carol:

The Twelve Pills of Christmas

trad. arr. Mr C

'On the first day of Xmas
My true love sent to meeeeee
A fat pill in a Dreameeeee'

Let no one ask what happens to the second pill of Xmas. Let alone the twelfth.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/12/2018 11:32

Are they antibiotics? I hate to suggest this, but if so, and if he is stubborn about taking them, he might be better off in the kitty hospital where they can give them intravenously?

LanaorAna2 · 18/12/2018 11:32
  1. Thyroid
  2. Thyroid
3 - 7 antibs 8-9 steroids (size of football) 10 -12 pain meds. Can be sprinkled, these. Yeah, right.
LanaorAna2 · 18/12/2018 11:35

He's had them iv-ed already, we're on the rest now.

I think I might tackle the pill scenario after lunch. Neither of us is up to it at present.

Ollivander84 · 18/12/2018 13:28

Ollie is horrified at the number of pills. He proceeded to demonstrate the optimum recovery position and advises its best to curl up into a ball to avoid pills

Mr C is very touched and grateful for the advice from his esteemed colleague.

He enquires whether Ollie's regional office, mabush, is in satisfactory post-inspection condition today. Any sign of the new neighbours? Maybe the MD ought to pay them a visit.

Guiltypleasures001 · 18/12/2018 14:11

Oh Lana, Betboo sends wishes to Mr C for a speedy recovery, and says you make her hooman laugh a lot, but she isn't her favourite, large child is.

Ollivander84 · 18/12/2018 14:49

Mabush has been checked upon but it's deemed too WET an COLD so the sheepskin igloo is in full use
Slave has been sent to gather supplied

What's PB?

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/12/2018 17:14

Oh lord 12 pills a day, for how long?

LanaorAna2 · 18/12/2018 19:55

4 days. I still haven't got anything down him or even a drink. Has purred though. We are in bed (still). I have failed to do any work and am surrounded by a ring of Sheba soups, Sheba normal, dreamies, pates, etc.

And cigarettes and chocolate.

I'm going to try sardines.

Thanks a million Guilty. Mr C loves a laff too. Usually at my expense. :)

Ollivander84 · 18/12/2018 20:28

I have survived the mother visiting. Ollie had to be shut in the bedroom and weirdly let me pick him up and carry him in there Hmm after obligingly shedding all over the sofa GOOD BOY

PB has allowed the Ex to approach him WITHOUT HISSING. I may not live this down. Grin

The patient.
