Things your cat hates about you

We often have a tawny owl sitting in a tree next to us when it is dark outside that is quite "chatty". I often have the terrace door open and when I hear it, I occasionally copy its sounds. My cat does not approve of that. She tends to jump on my lap, giving me her unfriendly look and meowing at me.

What do your cats hate about you?

Mine hates us going on holiday and leaving him to be fed by neighbours - he always sulks for several days when we get back. He also hates not getting enough attention - he isn't a lapcat but likes to sit on the arm of my chair all evening and will bat my arm with his paw continuously if I stop stroking him!!

When I was a teenager we used to have a lovely huge bruiser of a cat who - when I used to bring home my first boyfriend - would firmly force his way in between us on the sofa, it was hilarious !

My cat hates me opening the door for her to go out as I am actually to blame for the fact that it’s raining.

The fact that I close doors occasionally. As soon as the cat sees a closed door he will yowl at it constantly as if the room behind the closed door is the only place he's ever wanted to go. I open it and he sticks his head round then lies down again!

Mine hate visitors. They each hate that I stroke or tickle the others. They hate that I get out of bed when they are on it.

Mine currently hates me because he came to snooze on my bed whilst I was getting ready, u til I turned the hairdryer on. He's now sat on the window sil giving me evil eyes

Mine hates it when I go out. He looks at me with such soulful eyes and makes me feel really guilty.

Mine don't like it when I dance. Their expressions range from FFS to silly cow.

Spongecat hates it when I am on MN and not stroking her.

Trying to feed her a tidbit of salmon when there’s ham in the fridge.

I get a withering look that says “Why are you doing that?I know there’s ham.”

Mine hates:
me not wanting her sitting/sleeping on me at all times

that I don't leave the window open in winter so she can sit with her nose freezing and her bu warm

that I don't share all my food with her

that I take her to the vet occasionally

My cat hates it when I sneeze. She gives me a filthy look at an angry miaow! She doesn't mind when my husband sneezes though!

I'm jel OP I'd love to have a tawny owl nearby.

Babdoc & Sandy I get the same it's raining here too, sort it out hooman face.

My owner DCat is offended if I don't bow down with gratitude and praise him eternally for his hunting skills, when he hauls in some poor dead bird/rodent - insert small animal here- as an offering to sustain me through winter.

Oh and if he gets looked after by someone else, however briefly, he bites me when I get back. Just to make his displeasure known.

Kitten 1 hates me because I don't let him claw furniture, climb furniture or let him outside (too young)

Kitten 2 hates me because he's just an ignorant twat and hates everyone and everything in the whole world. I don't even get a glance from him when I empty a full bag of dreamies on the floor for them all to eat. Yes, he really is that ungrateful!

Kitten 3 hates me because I let it rain outside. He sits under the car giving the whole house evils while it rains. But won't come inside.

Kitten 4 hates me because I can't stroke him ALL OF THE TIME. And I can't take him everywhere with me. And because I sometimes have to carry the Tasmanian devil child on my hip instead of a cute kitty on my shoulder/boobs.

I forgot to buy dry cat food. She knows I forgot, I can feel her anger directed at me.

Omg yes, the gravy haters 😾.

Ours will not allow any door in the house to be closed - they scartch and howl if they are not opened asap - it’s like having a toddler in the house again

They will not eat any wet food if it is not a soup one - and then they mainly lick it and leave the bits

If we go away when we come back they follow us around but deliberately sit 1m (so we can’t pet them) in front of us with their backs turned to us 😂

We have the exact opposite here, only gravy is acceptable. She's a Yorkshire cat through and through!

Yep, the rain for sure. My cat just gives me this look of disgust when she sees it's raining outside and then an angry miaow to underscore her point.

Also - Moving in any way if she deigns to sit on me. Including breathing too much . Not sitting down at the appropriate time if she wants to jump on me. Not sit on me, jump on me like I'm a springboard.

The audacity of there being meat in the gravy cat food if I get it by mistake. Licks the gravy off and then shoots me looks of pure malevolence when there's only dried up meaty chunks left.

She is also unhappy about cold weather (particularly snow) birds outside, anytime I laugh too loudly or any other loudish noises (yet was utterly unmoved by the fireworks outside last week) and generally not rushing to her side to rub her belly when she chooses to show it.

She's an asshole. I love her though .

Oh and if I leave the house and don't return with meat pouches that I immediately open - whether there is food on her bowl or not.

Putting washing on my heated airer while she is sitting on it . She hisses and everything I've learnt to be very quick so she doesn't scratch me . Honestly you'd think she'd just move but no she is very annoyed with me for disturbing her . I'm most inconsiderate

And if I invite any other person that does not live in our house especially children and workman most displeased.
