Things your cat hates about you

We often have a tawny owl sitting in a tree next to us when it is dark outside that is quite "chatty". I often have the terrace door open and when I hear it, I occasionally copy its sounds. My cat does not approve of that. She tends to jump on my lap, giving me her unfriendly look and meowing at me.

Mine hates me for going out. Also for staying in...
For dancing with her in my arms, and for not being a fully available 24/7 door opener...

Trying to get him to chase a ball made of scrunched up paper. He doesn't play as such so I thought I would encourage him. After several disgusted looks and no activity whatsoever he disappeared outside only to return with a very lively mouse which he proceeded to chase around the living room for several minutes before dispatching it in a particularly gruesome manner. And then sat looking at me smugly as if to say 'that's how it should be done'.

Mine gets irritated if I am too long in the shower and taps on glass with her paw. Will also walk on my head if lollygagging in bed

My cat absolutely hates it when I'm emptying the dishwasher and shake the cutlery basket to get any excess water off

Mine (years ago) watched the catflap being fitted with a look of disbelief. (WHY? That's what Humans are for!)

He waited until 3am until he noisily smashed through it destroying it totally. When we raced downstairs about to call the police because we were being burgled, there he was with a look of satisfaction sitting among the irreparable debris. ("See? I WON'T use a catflap. Out of bed, Lazy Human!)

Yes not turning off the wind and rain, I can't believe the dirty looks I get on the threshold of the front door , especially if I've carelessly allowed the same weather to happen outside the back door too.

I can't change the weather
I won't spend all day opening the window/door so he can sit with his bum on the radiator and whiskers in the breeze
I won't feed him every time I so much as breathe in the direction of the kitchen
I don't cuddle him 24/7

Me not behaving as though i was her personal servant. 'I wish to go out now, open the door'. 'I wish to eat now, feed me'. 'I wish to go in and out of the room 15 times and yowl pointlessly to get you to notice me'. 'I wish to sit on your chair, move please'. 'I wish to eat what is on your plate, please leave it now and give it to me'. 'I have no wish to get into that cat box. You must be joking'. 'I wish to sleep on the bed in the spare room, do not disturb me'. Etc.

Mine hates me for letting strangers (my friends) into her/our house. She thumped one of these strangers/friends last night.

She also hates me for allowing my mother to visit.

They don't like it when I'm reading, using the laptop, being asleep... anything where the attention isn't on them (as long as they want it obviously)!

That every night one of scoops him off the bed to go downstairs saying “nigh nighs mate”. He’s already in bed to his mind.

We have a very grumpy cat aged 14. She bullies DH, DS and all the dogs mercilessly. They seriously drop everything to cater to her. Meows to come in? They drop everything and leap up to open the door. Wants to sit on the chair the dog is in? She goes up to him and meows until he moves.

I refuse to cater to her.... so she ignores me studiously all day and all evening. Until 2 in the morning, EVERY morning..... she comes and snuggles under my armpits under the bedclothes and coos and purrs and nibbles me.

It's our secret. I use her as a pillow and she cuddles. Then in the morning, the reign of terror resumes.

My cat doesn't like me putting my laptop on my actual lap because he is a total lap cat.

He resents me going to work even though it keeps him in gourmet cat food and Dreamies, he'd like me to be a SAHCM.

He also hates me hoovering (even though I tell him that I wouldn't have to hoover so bloody often if he wasn't such a furry nightmare).

He hates the noise of foil and running taps.

He is a total diva but he's so fecking adorable that I don't care Grin

That it's raining out of every single window in the house. All of them. He's checked them all quite a few times and I am clearly to weak to fix the weather out of even one window. Pathetic.

Mine hate I can't control the weather and will not believe me when I say it's raining they have to go outside to check for themselves. Every 5 minutes Hmm

Tonight he hates me because it was recycling day and he'd grown very attached to the box that's been sat next to the bin since sunday. When I got back from work he was sat in the empty space with a death scowl. I think I'm going to shut my bedroom door tonight just in case...

I do not have a cat now, though I would if I could. I love cats.
Our family cat used to howl if we sang and get up and smack her paws on your mouth. She was a little white Devon Rex. She also used to literally howl if you wept and I even saw little tears run down her face once, although I think it was cos she was squishing her face up so much.

Currently she hates me for not lying/sitting in what she considers an optimal cuddling position (I've had surgery and can't lie on my back or sit up straight as she likes me to).

Mine hates it any time DH and I have a slightly heated discussion (casual debate or argument) and will run over to calm the situation down, complete with standing in between us and miaowing in our faces. Guaranteed to calm down any situation, make us laugh and have to pause the discussion to let her know everything is okay.

One of my cats currently hates me because I went to the hospital and brought home a baby Sad - She had been obsessed with me when I was pregnant so I was hoping she'd like the baby!

The other cat is intrigued by the baby but hates me because I won't let her sleep in the cot with said baby

Hates that her favourite tap is not always running at the times she wants it (tried a cat water fountain, wasn’t fresh enough for her Grin )

Hates that we bought her brother at the same time as her tbh, he’s so caring but she doesn’t enjoy his boisterousness
