Give it a little go with some wet cotton wool & leave it overnight. Poor baby!

Ollivander84 · 16/09/2018 22:00

I would put money on it he did it on purpose because I went to work

LanaorAna2 · 16/09/2018 22:37

Hmmm, that's not a new trend we want to encourage.

What does Cozie think?

cozietoesie · 16/09/2018 22:55

I doubt he'd go so far as to actually hurt himself. Grin

Ollivander84 · 16/09/2018 23:00

He's very much enjoyed the eye bath. Lots of purring and gazing at me

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 16/09/2018 23:15

See whether it 'happens' again, then. Wink

Ollivander84 · 16/09/2018 23:18

I have a paw on my arm sweetly and one eye adoring me Grin

OP posts:
LanaorAna2 · 16/09/2018 23:24

I too have a fat paw resting companionably on me as we enjoy Good Telly night together. |

Ollivander84 · 17/09/2018 12:35

O is in his bush. I went to check on him and he shouted at me which I think was "I am in MA bush, go AWAY" Hmm
He's using the main stem/branch as a pillow...

Grin the sweetness. Presumably The Eye is on the mend.

I'm off to the GP for dodgy leg, seriously dull, but I know the poor locum will freak. Mr C jumped on me in the night and skidded all down my back to the knees, claws out. Screams from both, indignantly flailing duvet, headbop of reassurance, we passed back out instantly.

But I look like I've been beaten up. And there's a really horror-film bloody rash on the shoulders where he kneaded me in the morning.

I'm going to get his claws done when he's on the slab next week, so that's something to calm the junior doctors. Grin

Allergictoironing · 17/09/2018 16:42

Ah the joys of being owned by a cat! Though must admit that mine have very rarely scratched me, and that was purely incidental (trying to get away when picked up, in the early days). I have even got Boycat used to happily lying there having his morning cuddles with the upper part of my body, while I do the necessary writhing stretching with my legs & pelvis needed for me to crawl out of bed.

Don't like doctors at the mo - there's SOMETHING wrong with me that seems to be a virus lasting weeks, thyroid, or ME. Total exhaustion, headaches, joint aches, fuzzy brain, occasional dizziness, interrupted sleep. May or may not be related to the rather large doses of co-codamol I'm taking at the mo, but I've tried cutting that down the last 2 days to under half the max dose (30/500 x 4 a day rather than 8 a day) and no better at all. Got blood test results, just been told over the phone the only problem shown is high-ish cholesterol so presumably not Thyroid. No idea whether my current protein cravings are related or not, but I WILL go back & see the GP this week to try to get answers!

LanaorAna2 · 17/09/2018 18:09

Now is the time for as little work as possible and the best telly you can find, plus force yourself round the block a couple of times so so your poor joints don't seize up any more. Longer if poss, helps you sleep.

High cholesterol can be a sign a thyroid prob is in the post. Get tested again next month.

I had a mystery virus like yours when I was 11. Wore off in the end. They do, don't worry. Anyway, the hosp said it was a New Medical Discovery and It Had to Be Named. I was so thrilled at the thought of Plague of Lana being an entry in textbooks I felt better for days. To my fury, they named it after the consultant Grin

You'll be feeling appalling at the mo because of fine work re the cocodamol (well done), give it a week before you even consider feeling human again.

Dr Patel just told me tea tree oil in the bath is good for cat scratches Grin

Allergictoironing · 17/09/2018 18:34

Going for a walk round the block is out of the question without full drugs! I can barely get in the bath to have a shower as it is.

Not been able to work for a few days anyway as need my brain - re-read an email today that came in on Thursday, made total sense on Thursday & I can't understand a word today Sad. Behind on deadlines for 2 things already, and feeling a) guilty and b) scared they will stop using me for overflow cases when they are busy, as that's my only work at the mo.

Ah well, they will be stabbing my spine with needles in another couple of weeks and I can't wait Grin.

Cats are sulking because I won't stay in the same position for hours at a time to scritch them.

cozietoesie · 17/09/2018 20:05

Do you actually need the codeine? I have much the same dosage - and similar symptoms! (Thinking of cutting down.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2018 20:48

Anyone remember Co-Proximal? I had patients on 8 a day of them and they could forms sentences and everything. Those were the days.

What bad luck Lana.

Ollivander84 · 17/09/2018 21:10

I take dihydrocodeine, used to be on 60mg x 4 a day but now just 60mg at night
At one point I was on that, naproxen, diazepam, paracetamol and oramorph and still at work HmmGrin

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 17/09/2018 21:13

Blimey. Glad you weren't 'still at work' on ME. Grin

Allergictoironing · 17/09/2018 21:13

Cozie some days I do, a few I don't. I try to keep it down to one in the morning & one or two at night so I can get moving properly and sleep OK - this is in addition to one Diclofenac morning & night. If I'm going out at all, even a trip to my sisters 5 mins drive away or the GPs, then it's 2 co-codamol and more if I'm out any length of time. That will just about get me through a very quick whirl round Asda (30 mins) without actually crying in pain until I'm on my way back to the car.

I had 2 late this afternoon, as it's non-recycling rubbish day which also means full litter change day. I have to do rubbish & litter over about 2 hours with little breaks, then take it down to the road outside & sit for another half hour. Just getting generally pissed off with my back Sad

LanaorAna2 · 17/09/2018 21:15

I'm over it Fluffy. You can bet if it happens again it'll be menopausal & I shall reach the ranks of the immortals in print as originator of the celebrated and well-known 'Fat Lana's Fanny Fungus'.

I do not have fanny fungus. Just making that clear Grin.

Isn't co-prox-whatevs hillbilly heroin?

Allergictoironing · 17/09/2018 21:16

Gods Olli I can barely type on what I'm on, let alone use my brain properly! I remember coproxamol yes, used to love it. I also used to be on Bute until they banned it for human use & moved me onto the Voltarol. They tried to replace that with Naproxen, but it has almost zero effect on me.

LanaorAna2 · 17/09/2018 21:23

Bloody hell, O, RESPECT.

Also C and A.

I've press-passed books on codeine, but that's amateur hour compared to y'all hardcore bad galz.

I'm prepared to be told I'm an idiot, but has anyone tried acupuncture (not you Cozie, doesn't fix broken bones). I know two people who got their life back after 5 or 6 sessions for The Back. They didn't believe it at first either.

Ollivander84 · 17/09/2018 21:32

I must admit a&e did a Hmm face at my drugs. Then I came out the MRI and they were chucking morphine down me. The surgeon did say he didn't know how I was walking

OP posts:
LanaorAna2 · 17/09/2018 21:39

You are totally heroic, morphine-fuelled or otherwise.

Long-term pain is a bastard, no other word for it.

Allergictoironing · 17/09/2018 21:41

Acupuncture used to help a fair bit, as did using the TENS machine, but they don't have anywhere near the same effect they used to. Thing is, I'm really not quite bad enough to take the risks associated with spinal fusion yet so that's off the cards for a bit longer.

I think the biggest problem is that I have 3 related but different conditions in my lower back (facet joint arthritis, prolapsed discs and one vertebra forwards from where it should be), which all seem to feed off each other. Add in the fact I have one leg shorter than the other which means my pelvis goes out of alignment on a fairly regular and frequent basis, and basically it's all a bit fucked. Nowhere near as bad as yours was Cozie and Olli, but enough to screw up mobility a fair degree.

Ollivander84 · 17/09/2018 21:44

I do find thermacare lower hip and back heat wraps were my saviour waiting for surgery, I couldn't have coped without them
Pole fitness bizarrely is helping now. My pre op MRI is a thing of beauty Grin
