Testicle fixated kitten - for the love of god help me!

Our 8 month old kitten has developed an obsession with DS balls. Won't leave the poor boy alone. Follows him around the house jumping in his lap and 'padding' his balls if she gets the chance. Or she'll lie on his bed (at testicle level) rolling around, or pad, sniff and lick the seat he's just left.

It is incredibly annoying for him and whilst utterly hilarious for us, we would like it to stop.

Has anyone else encountered this? How can I stop her? It's so awful and weird.

She's got a new nickname "the perv" - poor little girl! Poor DS!

She will probably stop once she has had the 'op'.

Mine was funny but disturbing when she came into season, male visitors would be treated to a cat with her tail to one side, giving a come on luck over her shoulder and backing up to them.

Now she still likes men but usually jumps into a lap and goes to sleep.

Is it a scent thing? I can't believe I'm asking this but what does your DS use to wash his balls? 😂

What I'm thinking is if he's using a strong scented shower gel or something perhaps it's, erm, attracting the cat. Maybe try a scent neutral bar soap

How old is your DS? I'd he in the depths of puberty?

Not that that will help me provide a solution, mind. Just curious. I have never heard of similar. Maybe your cat IS just a perv?

Some cats are irresistibly drawn to sweat - it's like cat nip to them. Does your DS have particularly sweaty balls perchance? (I don't want to think about how you're going to ascertain the answer to that)

I saw something on tv that said researchers who want to attract cats to wildlife cameras put Calvin Klein obsession for men on them as the musky smell is very attractive to them.

That would tie in with wets theory it’s a scent thing.

I bet vetiver based scents aren’t as attractive to them.

Maybe use a citrus scented soap? Or wear a sporran with a cut lemon in it? Or maybe puss is just a perve.

He is 14, very clean - showers every morning! Uses Original Source - mango at the mo

I think my cat is a perv. She keeps reversing towards him with her tail up as he's trying to play Fifa Grin oh god, poor boy. It's so unfair to laugh but I really can't stop....

Maybe the spay was not very complete? Can that happen with female cats?

If he's clean, it sounds like she either is reacting to his high levels of testosterone, or she just lurves him. Or she's not been spayed properly.

I’m crying with laughter! Poor DS, I hope you find a solution. All I can say is, given half a chance our older male cat will STILL start his padding/suckling/getting his appendage out despite having been neutered early on. It’s grim.

With a 14 year old DS of our own though we might cancel that girl kitten we’ve been pondering Grin I hope the young perv gets over her fixation OP!

I am constructing orange peel Y Fronts. Accesorized with a lemon peel sporran and and we will be checking for urine, testosterone and musk like smells on the hour, every hour.

I've given her a bit of catnip now - its the only thing that takes her mind of the poor lad.
