Testicle fixated kitten - for the love of god help me!

Our 8 month old kitten has developed an obsession with DS balls. Won't leave the poor boy alone. Follows him around the house jumping in his lap and 'padding' his balls if she gets the chance. Or she'll lie on his bed (at testicle level) rolling around, or pad, sniff and lick the seat he's just left.

It is incredibly annoying for him and whilst utterly hilarious for us, we would like it to stop.

Has anyone else encountered this? How can I stop her? It's so awful and weird.

She's got a new nickname "the perv" - poor little girl! Poor DS!

how funny - is ds getting all the "pussy" jokes
tell him to switch shower gel to something neutral and spritz her (lightly) with water every time she does it to maker her stop.
Or put Ralgex on his balls which will deter the cat but render DS senseless.
(disclaimer - don't really do the Ralgex thing)

There's nothing else for it. You'll need to rehome.

After all ... in a few years he'd be leaving to go to college, anyway! Grin

Never encountered such a pervy poppet I would try orange based scent too.
Maybe a.few drops of essential oil in your washing.

We've sprayed him entirely crotch with jo Malone neroli and nail because we do goddam posh

She’s not in heat is she? If you Rub the base of her tail does she lower her back and paddle with her back legs?.

Generally, cats hate the smell of many essential oils.

For your lad's sake, don't use any flowery ones unless it's a last resort. Try two drops of eucalyptus or peppermint essential oil on a tissue in each pocket of his trousers. Hopefully that will be close enough to keep that adorable kitty away.

Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly after using the oils and make sure the cat or your lad's skin are never exposed to the oils either as they are a serious irritant.

If you don't have any oils at home, try Vick or Olbas Oil on a tissue as above with the same precautions.

Very rarely after spaying some cats can have ovarian/uterine tissue left behind in the abdomen that can cause them to go into heat. Maybe take her to your vet to get checked.

Although the orange peel y-fronts are an inspired choice.

123 this happened to my cat. She was spayed before we got her (from Cats Protection) but it apparently wasn't done properly.

She now has spells of frantic padding, weird miaowing and backing onto anything and everything.

Our vet suggested she could be given pills to control this but as it wasn't causing her any distress, we didn't want to medicate her to make our lives less embarrassing!

She's still crazed - scratching at his door all night like a hussy.

I'm going to take her back to the vet for a check up........

She was called Meeeeooowgon Freeman briefly this morning but I asked them to stop as it was a bit close to the bone - I mean she's a perv, but you know, she's not on their level! Grin
