Little update :

He's now pooping unprompted, going in there for his business!
Wee is getting closer, no accidents this morning to report - yet!

He's grown so much in the last week bless him. So playful and happy. Forever shown is his belly!

Update on Prince Louis :

He's continuing to be an absolute joy 🐱
We've had no accidents in TWO whole days!
He takes himself to the tray now, either bathroom or kitchen one.

Any advice on how to stop the little monkey from scratching up my curtains 😣

We've had no accidents now for days, goes straight to his box and does his business 👏🏼

Now he's started trying to climb up my curtains though!

He’ll stop that when he gets too heavy.

ScreamingValenta · 22/05/2018 20:50

The curtain climbing phase doesn't last long. You could try a citrus spray on your curtains (sold as a furniture scratching deterrent) as cats are supposed to hate the smell.

Thank you fluffy and screaming.

Does the scratching phase not last long?

Has he got a scratch post? Apart from the sofa I mean.

ScreamingValenta · 22/05/2018 21:58

You need to try to stop him forming the habit of scratching furniture etc - otherwise you can end up with an entire side of your sofa wrecked, or no stair carpet left at the bottom. Citrus spray on the furniture plus physically taking him away if he is scratching helps, plus as Fluffy says, a scratch-pole for him to use instead (catnip on the scratch-pole encourages your cat to scratch there).

Scratching normally lessens once they go outside, as they do it to blunt their claws and this happens naturally outdoors, but not in the house.

Yay scratching! (
