Black beetles Shock

Lanaorana2 · 10/02/2018 10:40

Not cockroaches thank God. And they just might have escaped from the hyacinths I brought in off the balcony. Whatevs, Mr C won't touch them, he's more into duck strips for his crunchy snack this week. How ASBO?

I had lunch with my cousin who was unwillingly dumped with two Bengals. He was late because they were asleep on his head. He's nicked them.

Lanaorana2 · 10/02/2018 12:52

Blanket has finally been consented to, along with heated throw, hot water bottle and my leg.

Ollie has such a serious expression on his face!

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2018 13:21

Cuddling is serious business!
Definitely speaking to the vet, he was sat outside today in pouring rain as he refused to jump back in

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/02/2018 13:26

Oh dear. Lets just hope that it is a desire for full butler service.

cozietoesie · 10/02/2018 14:13

How old is he again?

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 10/02/2018 14:15

Around 9. He's doing zoomies, jumping on and off the sofa and bed etc. And out the window. Just not in ConfusedConfused

cozietoesie · 10/02/2018 14:31

He may just have pulled a muscle or something and be reluctant to jump because he thinks it will hurt.

Lanaorana2 · 10/02/2018 15:52

Mr C says Why jump when you can be carried?

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2018 16:24

Oh he won't be picked up. Ever!
That's one thing I can't do, he panics, screams and fights

Lanaorana2 · 10/02/2018 18:33

Dyou know, same with Mr C. He lets me do it in emergencies eg when our block of flats was on fire, I grabbed my valuables (him) and ran for our lives, but that's it.

I suspect trouble in a previous life for them both. I do one thing - every now and then I lift him up, which he loathes and despises, and hold him in front of the mirror for a bit so he can see it's me not Godzilla. Training, see, he's got to be pick-up-able in times of crisis. He hates it and I get covered in blood but it works.

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2018 18:38

A cat has been run over in the main road Sad
My neighbour came hammering down my door shouting if Ollie was home - I let her in and showed her Ollie and she's smothered him in kisses Grin (she thought it was him)

Lanaorana2 · 10/02/2018 19:17

Oh how grim - thankfully Olli is lovely and safe.

Lanaorana2 · 10/02/2018 20:40

Mr C is pigsick, supper is yellow sticker tomato soup. Vegetables? What fresh hell is this?! Everyone knows my meals are his snacks.

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2018 22:27

Total lack of home comforts Wink in this home apparently

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2018 23:01

I pick asbo up every day, I refuse to have a cat who can't be handled. From the noise you'd think I'd picked him up by his whiskers.

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2018 23:05

Fluffy Grin
I can't risk the scratches (neutropenic) but he properly panics, really frightened by it. Think probably something from his previous life

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2018 23:25

It's not nice to be out of control like that, you never know what's gone before with a former stray cat.

None of the Persians ever minded.

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2018 23:39

To be fair I never need to pick him up as he's usually sat on me anyway GrinGrin
Do wish he could talk sometimes and tell me how he ended up where he was
I can just about drag him into the cat carrier while he screams at me and digs his claws in the carpet !

Allergictoironing · 11/02/2018 09:47

Neither of mine tolerate being picked up, though Boycat is improving over time & will lie passively in my arms for a couple of minutes if I pick him up while sitting next to him on the sofa.

I'm dreading getting them in to the vets for their MOTs next month - I've booked 2 appointments 10 days apart in the hopes that whichever one I don't take the first time, may have forgotten about the other one being dragged off to Guatanamo Bay. New Feliway refill and extra Zylkene on order, I intend to have them both drugged up to the eyeballs for about a fortnight solid!
