Fluffy Grin

Allergic good luck - now you've made all that effort, they're bound to skip there themselves. The other thing you can do is throw a jersey or something that smells of you into the carrier.

BrokeAndBad · 11/02/2018 14:42

Or try the angry handbag approach! It's brilliant! Good luck with the vets x

Allergictoironing · 11/02/2018 14:57

Last time they went (March last year) Girlcat was comparatively easy - just caught her unawares & bundled her in her carrier. Boycat however...

Took me and NDN's adult son over half an hour even though we were shut in the living room. I ended up with a serious scratch on my arm that is still scarred today and minor ones on my stomach - this wasn't him trying to scratch, just the claws going in as he tried to push off & get away. NDN's son had one very minor scratch on his hand, but was drenched with urine from panic-peeing (he was the one that managed to get a deathgrip on Boycat). Boycat didn't stop panting until after we got back home, vet didn't even weigh him as he was so distressed, as soon as he was let out of the carrier at home he bolted & I didn't see him for a day even at meal times Sad.

My theory is that a) Boycat is much friendlier with me & likes cuddles, so I should be able to catch him when he's not expecting anything and b) he hasn't got his sister doing trapped tiger impressions nearby, yowling & rattling trying to escape, if I do them a few days apart.

Lanaorana2 · 11/02/2018 15:10

Allergic Lawks. I think that's a really good theory. I've been stuck with Mr C screaming and lashing out from beneath the pedals in my parents'car, while aged dad was a) driving b) on Hammersmith roundabout c) at speed. it all comes out fi-i-i-i-i-ne in the end :)

Wanders off to find antibiotic cream for recent attack (you should get some Fucidin from the doc, works)

cozietoesie · 11/02/2018 15:42

I was lulled into a sense of ease by Seniorboy's behaviour. PBoy is a different kettle of fish. (He also bears grudges.)

Lana I should point out that in the nearly 2 years since they took over my house, neither has scratched, bitten or even hissed at me (or anybody else). I think they must be the most gentle ex-ferals ever - except when they are picked up & that's accidents while they try to escape!

Girlcat may bear grudges, but she also knows better than to scratch the hand that feeds her treats. Boycat is FAR too thick to bear a grudge, plus that would mean he would miss out on his thrice daily tummy rubbing sessions with him wrapped around my arm Grin

Lanaorana2 · 11/02/2018 17:31

Allergic they are so sweet-natured, you can tell from your posts. Mr C is is a very tender and mellow gent, really; ' just a big lad who doesn't know his own strength':) as our vet put it.

PBoy is a Siamese, so bearing grudges like medals is surely only upholding the honour of his race. :) Please God you don't have to go to the vet in 2018, however. Or maybe ever :) How is he today?

cozietoesie · 11/02/2018 17:42

He'll have to attend the vet in August. Thanks for reminding me. Sad

I gave him dried food for breakfast. (I'd received a sample. ) He polished off the lot and then played for an hour. Shock

Sorry Cozie. Blush I forgot about vaccinations until the second I pressed post. It can't be worse than last time, and it will probably be better. Get some Fucidin in advance. In all honestly I wd try for Gin on prescription too.

The tiny prince played for an hour! A fine way to spend Sunday morning.

cozietoesie · 11/02/2018 17:57

Well it's not usual.

We're out of mice. Sad

Lanaorana2 · 11/02/2018 19:12

Not for much longer! Mohican Man and his felty family are in the post.

I estimate PB will be distracted for approx 1.6 seconds rejecting them.

How is he generally?

Weedsnseeds1 · 11/02/2018 19:21

I'm impressed by your mouse making skills Lana although "dead deer brown" , sorry "Bambi's mother", is an odd name for a shade!
Have you looked at plague rats cozie? They're a popular choice for my boy ( and come in brown, you could always add a feather of the preferred shade)

There's a brown mouse with red trim! 'Stuffed with a potent blend of catnip and valerian root'!! Genius personal pet shopper you are, Weeds.

Lanaorana2 · 11/02/2018 19:37

One can purchase a bag of 97 brown mice!!!

I have sent this link to everyone I know.

Ollivander84 · 11/02/2018 19:38

I saw the stable kittens today. Fred miaows loudly if you stop stroking him. Ginge will sit next to my hand but doesn't allow strokes

Lanaorana2 · 11/02/2018 20:17

Really getting into the cuddling now - O we need VT of your stroking. You got skillz.

Weedsnseeds1 · 11/02/2018 20:23

I think if you ask they can be made to your personal spec. I know they make vegan ones on request.

Ollivander84 · 11/02/2018 20:30

I have photos but it's saying too many images Angry

Lanaorana2 · 11/02/2018 20:37

I don't think PB's a vegan.

Mind you, as I type Mr C is thieving a Yorkshire Pudding.

cozietoesie · 11/02/2018 20:44

.....Ginge will sit next to my hand but doesn't allow strokes....

Sounds like it's only a matter of time. Smile

No. PB isn't vegan. Grin

She did look like she was contemplating it. She's ridiculously fat BlushConfused

Lanaorana2 · 11/02/2018 21:00

One is always thankful for small mercies Grin

My cat has eaten a whole Yorkshire Pudding. The same animal just refused Sheba and Gourmet and M&S posh biscuits and Exigence.

He's really purring too.
