Realised I filled up the last thread with inanity!

Come one, come all, what's your cat up to today?

Mine are pleased that I'm home in time for the end of Pointless. Unfortunately they hate Pointless and would rather sit outside in the rain glowering in at me.

Definitely! My workplace is full of cat servants. They're not as grateful as the patients, these felines.

Great company, though. I'm (third/fourth person) on call all weekend and Duck charmingly kneads my head while I offer advice. Hmm

EachandEveryone · 03/02/2018 09:32

Yes there’s loads at work. They are great for shift workers I think. I’m avoiding any calls with out id today I just can’t be bothered to go in post nights.

caoraich · 03/02/2018 10:03

Yes I agree! Each they are good for shift workers aren't they. Just a disdainful scowl when you arrive home at 11pm. We'd love a dog too but will need to wait until DP is a consultant so has slightly more predictable hours.

I'm not too bad as most of my on-all is done from home. On more than one occasion I have had to explain to some poor junior doctor "I'm not purring at you, just my cat is asleep on my head" as I give advice down the phone at 3am Grin

Mutual love of cats is a good thing to bond over when you're always thrown into working with other people so maybe we just all find each other too!

Yes our poor reg's pup managed to escape from the dog walker on Hampstead Heath it was a tense few hours she'd only had her a week! Dogs need you at home its true.

Mine are fed up today they dont know what they want. Daphne is like me and turns to food on days like today. Shes just had a tin of tuna and shrimp and im frying the bacon! Just need a good book now.

caoraich · 03/02/2018 13:40

Haha pampered much- tuna and shrimp! Your poor reg - hope the got the pup back.
I'm just back from a run. The friend I go with is allergic to cats so I shut them away in the kitchen so we could stretch in the hallway afterwards. Opened the door and could only find maisie. Panic stations that somehow Freya had escaped / there was a hole in the outdoor enclosure. Calling her name and maisie meowing loudly at my feet, nothing.
Finally looked up and she was balanced at the top of the door frame looking down at me like "how dare you??" Shock

Been there with the "cat on head while giving advice". Another variation is "cats loudly wrestling while someone on site relays their management plan at sunrise".

Sniffing for intruders.

I'm not sure this will attach (having probs with pics) here's her earlier.

I wanted a bit of peace and quiet so I'm afraid I've put her in the sitting room. Cue scrabbling of paws at intervals. I'll let her out shortly.

As much as I love her I need 'away' space at times

I do that as well but it’s usually on a night when I’ve had enough and she’s sitting in my face. I lock the kitchen door and she sleeps on the chair I open it again before I go to bed. Don’t feel bad! When can she start going out?

I’ve spent the last hour chasing Dolly who has attached herself to a piece of chewing gum she doesn’t come to me at the best of times.

EachandEveryone · 04/02/2018 14:06

As you can see I don’t think she will miss the fir I’ve chopped off

Oooh she's being a right little madam this morning - jumping on head commenced at 7am. I tried to ignore it.

Then she started boxing me in the face with a little furry paw so I got up and fed her.

Then she came back and stood on me and purred whilst staring intently (don't know why she does this). I've put her in the sitting room now, peace at last!

Observing the hallway from her perch

(Please don't judge my artex ceiling, it came with the house!)

caoraich I squinted at your ceiling at first as it looked like sculpting on my tiny screen!

How does cat get up there, does she not send books flying?

caoraich · 05/02/2018 13:59

DP lets her stand on his head and she leaps from there. She is then able to leap down via the coat rack on the other wall

I do not condone this!

She got herself a wee bit stuck before that pic. I admit I pointed and laughed before helping her...

Mine is outside 'shouting' at birds! He's pretty good at catching mice but thankfully so far he appears to be too daft to realise that a big black cat sat underneath a tree meowing at them MAY give the birds a bit of a clue that he is there!

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/02/2018 15:41

You Drs should shadow podiatry for a day, lots of our patients barely say thanks Grin. Even the chap whose wound I healed after being wide open for 6 years wasn't that impressed.

The Bengal is careering around after an ear plug. Proper starsky and hutch rolls. He just needs a car bonnet to slide down.

Ski37 · 05/02/2018 16:52

Want2beme it makes me laugh! Every now and then he launches a 'spirited' attempt at the fence seperating him from the 'bird tree' - it's like a cartoon .... I hear a crash and look out to see him sliding down the fence all legs out like a carton cat whilst he desperately scrabbles about trying to get a purchase. I'm sure the birds are laughing at him!

EachandEveryone · 06/02/2018 11:22

Do you want to see some teeny tiny kittens? My little barrel from up the road has delivered she was waiting to be fed when I got home from work and I followed her home and demanded to see kittens. The poor thing I hope I have persuaded the owner to get her done.

EachandEveryone · 06/02/2018 11:23

Here

TheCatOfAthenry · 06/02/2018 11:59

Each, they are beautiful!

EachandEveryone · 06/02/2018 12:02

And, no, im not having one! She just marched into the flat this morning and ate all the food. Mine stood there gobsmacked.

caoraich · 06/02/2018 12:55

How many are there? I can't count all the little teeny tails
