He’s on the bed again. Fourth or fifth time today. Smile

Ollivander84 · 07/10/2017 01:08

Ooooh Grin he's discovering how comfortable it is!

Weedsnseeds1 · 07/10/2017 01:17

Getting thereGrin

Lanaorana2 · 07/10/2017 10:58

He's coming home, but to a place he's never been before.

Sniff. I've welled up shamelessly and I haven't even got a hangover :)

Thanks so much for the tip Weeds, we're going for it.

Off to blow nose and give Mr C a jump.

They actually seem quite palatable as wellLana she used to eat them like treats ( admittedly she wasn't very bright) !

Lanaorana2 · 07/10/2017 11:57

That's a win-win. Mr C loves an edible :)

cozietoesie · 07/10/2017 16:49

Oh Wow!

Ollivander84 · 07/10/2017 16:57

Spotted them on the end of an aisle in Morrisons. Ollie wanted to sample the three bird roast... so I bought one

cozietoesie · 07/10/2017 17:06

I don’t think we have a Morrisons close by. Sad

Ollivander84 · 07/10/2017 17:13

They have them on the webbox website too. I bet pets at home will be getting them in as well

cozietoesie · 07/10/2017 17:52

I didn’t know that there was a Webbox website. (I should have guessed.) I can’t see them there, though. Sad

Ollivander84 · 07/10/2017 18:09

How weird, I can find the link but add to basket isn't there
However they are here, along with other festive goodies Grin

Lanaorana2 · 07/10/2017 19:19

I've always wanted to try a 3-bird roast as well. Our family cat climbed right into the turkey one year (to eat his way out) and my mum screamed 'You eat the turkey and I'll eat you'. Yet somehow the festive animal-inside-animal temptation just didn't feel the same.

Let the records show it was me who had to rescue and hide a very indignant 20lb ginger tom. 22lb to be accurate, he got loads of breast.

Actually, they’re not, Ollivander - at least not on my device. That link just has the cat sticks and not the Lick e Lix.

Maybe Morrisons have snaffled their entire production run? Grin

cozietoesie · 07/10/2017 20:08

I stand corrected. Page 2 has the Lick E Lix Festive. Smile

Lanaorana2 · 07/10/2017 21:32

C our local Morrisons has shut down, bah.

If I see them anywhere, which I am bound to, I'll get a fistful and let you know. Newboy shall not go without. Do you reckon you could get some furry antlers on him??

Ollivander84 · 07/10/2017 22:54

Ollie won't eat it weirdo but I might get some for stable cat. Took her a pouch today which she ate in 10 seconds and then licked the bowl so much there was nearly no pattern left on it Grin

cozietoesie · 08/10/2017 00:26

Today, he’s been on the bed a few times but only to check for .....the spontaneous generation of treats. No treats so he jumps down. (What I was concerned might happen.) Maybe he was just having a ‘close’ day yesterday - it happens. Wink

NoSquirrels · 08/10/2017 01:06

Well, I think that's OK. You can treat him sometimes and keep him guessing. And as the nights get colder, and the electric blanket gets warmer...

NoSquirrels · 08/10/2017 01:07

And if he jumps up for treats can you make them gradually get closer to you... so the treats happen as you're in bed, and he has to inch closer?

Ollivander84 · 08/10/2017 01:19

Hopefully he will click soon that the treats spontaneously appear from the Creature when it is in bed Wink

Lanaorana2 · 08/10/2017 10:19

Yes! O that would be my next devious move!! cunning plan:

  1. Stuff sweets down nightdress.
  2. Get into bed and - crucial - insert both legs under duvet, special treat as impossible when beloved kitty is on ie for next 20 years.
  3. Get up again grumbling to retrieve book, ipad, water, pills, etc.
  4. Back in, ooh, lovely, arrange pillows, settle down.
  5. Only then get sweets out, triggering Pet Contact.
  6. Wake fully refreshed with lone sweet stuck to cheek.

Then, as he gets used to it, give the sweets later and later, finally doing it on lights out.

Hint: chews are better than dreamies in bed as they don't crumble.

The other thing about introducing Snack 'n' Slumber is that if N ever has to take any meds, you can secrete them into this routine far more easily than at any other time, if Mr C is anything to go by. And for some reason it really relaxes him, he definitely thinks this is the way I should be behaving.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 08/10/2017 15:43

I suspect that this one will not be difficult to medicate as long as I can put the meds in with his FOOD. (He’s still obsessed with calories - although, thankfully, he hasn’t ‘discovered’ fruit or sweetmeats. Grin)
