Can you afford a behaviourist? It's been a while now.

This is one resistant cat.

Ollivander84 · 28/09/2017 18:31

Ooh he's a tricky one. What is he doing instead?

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/09/2017 18:32

I lock asbo away overnight, there's no snooze button on bengals. If shoving a paw in my mouth fails using the 400tc sheets as a scratch post works every time.

I've told him he can come back up when he's an old man.

cozietoesie · 28/09/2017 18:45

I doubt that a behaviourist would take him on. Grin

No - I've done something, I just don't know what. (Or he's not well.)

Ollivander84 · 28/09/2017 18:54

Ah. You tried to stroke him last night....

Ollivander84 · 28/09/2017 18:54

And yes, I think he's like stablecat. A behaviourist would run a mile Grin

cozietoesie · 28/09/2017 19:03

No. It's all of a sudden. He was fine this morning.

Lanaorana2 · 28/09/2017 19:25

Maybe he has stolen food and is resting? Maybe a little bit ill?

Maybe he wants roast chicken in his lightly warmed soup 🤔🤔
Or some scrambled egg

Ollie is sick after anything with beef Confused
Loves scrambled egg (he gets my scrapings out the pan in the morning)
Fish is declared as "minging stuff" unless I'm eating a tuna sandwich

Justchillaxing · 28/09/2017 19:57

Sad what's he doing cozie? Does he look ill?

cozietoesie · 28/09/2017 20:01

He's sleeping in his radiator bed. Now.

Justchillaxing · 28/09/2017 20:05

I hope he's ok. Can you tempt him with his favourite treat?

cozietoesie · 28/09/2017 20:07

Oh he's fine with treats. Blighter has gone downstairs now.

Justchillaxing · 28/09/2017 20:14

To eat?

Justchillaxing · 28/09/2017 20:17

Chillkitten is on my knee, we're laid on the sofa. He never comes for a cuddle, so not sure what I've done to deserve this.

(He's not really a kitten now, but the youngest of the three at 2 years so will always be called kitten!)

cozietoesie · 28/09/2017 20:24

I 'think' it's to 'be by himself'.

cozietoesie · 28/09/2017 21:12

He asked for First Supper. I think he may have a hairball because we don't have a grooming relationship.

Anyway - I've decided to take the battle to the enemy. (Very gently.) He was starting to enjoy solitude altogether too much so most of the rooms that he's allowed in now have a TV going. Wink

Ollivander84 · 28/09/2017 21:23

Maybe when he gets worried he reverts to being alone?

cozietoesie · 28/09/2017 21:51

I suspect that it's what he's used to. His previous home tried to separate their cats for many months - during the turf war - so to him, being alone during the day probably feels 'right'. He seems to carry around such a load of guilt. Solemn wee lad.

Lanaorana2 · 29/09/2017 11:04

Poor little kitten.

I read a new survey in the paper saying animals don't feel guilt, they just respond to their 'owners'' body language. Balls.

Mr C doesn't feel guilt but that's different. Grin Last night he swung both his back legs round my neck, requested tummy tickles, threw his chin back when I began and passed out. It was inferred I had to remain in the position all night. His snoring was awful.

Any plans for today? Have you tried mayonnaise as a treat?

RubbishMantra · 29/09/2017 11:05

Guilt? Oh dear, that must be a very conflicting emotion for a cat. Mine don't even understand the concept! So you think he's brooding on his past perceived sins that caused him to not stay in first home? How to bring him out of himself. He's quite phenomenalogical when playing on the stairs and on his cardboard scratchers... Could that be the time to find an 'in' somehow...? I think Fluffy made an excellent suggestion re. consulting an animal shrink.

Ollivander84 · 29/09/2017 11:06

If you felt inclined Grin I did notice pets at home have a sort of puzzle of those cardboard scratchers with catnip, you buy whichever pieces you want and slot them together
