cozie I'm following this with a mixture of amusement and absolute awe at your patience. I once lived with three Siamese and their man. They won, and I moved out!

I love cats and have three mogs- one of whom is a distant cousin of ollivanders Ollie in his soppy ridiculousness .

Just couldn't do what you are doing. He is so very lucky. I do wonder whether as you say he has sight issues but a vet visit very very distant prospect of course.

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 19:03

I'm (almost) loathe to say this but I've sometimes felt that Ollie - a very bright cat - doles out his soppiness in carefully modulated portions.......Ollivander is so under the paw that she likely wouldn't notice. Grin

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 19:07

BTW - three Siamese (who get on with each other) are a force to be feared indeed. Your chances were about 0! Grin

Ollivander84 · 13/09/2017 19:12

ShockShockShock cozie!!!

He is currently disagreeing with you Grin

Newboy: sequel that's better than the original
cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 19:59

Well you would say that, wouldn't you? Grin

Lanaorana2 · 13/09/2017 20:17

Ahem - before a spat unseemly for Ladies of the Litter develops, may I just mention 'Lightly warmed soup'. Grin

My mate had a Bengal for a year before anyone realised she was mostly blind. She's fine, by the way, cats are much better at coping than two-legs.

No issues with Newboy's conversational prowess, however, it is clear.

Snorting at lightly warmed soup Grin
TBH I would say I'm not convinced Ollie is that bright but I guess living stray for so long says otherwise... Blush

Lanaorana2 · 13/09/2017 21:14

Olli most strays manage under a year. His intellectual credentials are perfect.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 22:49

Well if his sight is compromised at all, lightly warming his soup is only humane. Grin (Smell.)

I'm OK if his eyesight is dodgy. Seniorboy was the exception - many of the breed have poor sight. (I grant you that in such a young cat........)

Kibobear · 14/09/2017 10:18

Ohh he's lovey

Lanaorana2 · 14/09/2017 10:24

As ever, you are only perfect and right. ' Grin

'Watchful waiting' is the MO here. How was last night?

London is so cold I thought my thyroid had gone again until BBC admitted it was only 5 degrees. Self and Mr C clung to each other to stay 'lightly warmed'. Moral: keep that heated pad for yourself :)

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 14/09/2017 11:56

The heated pad has not been used. Sad

Mind you, I thought that that would be the final fate of the activity centre and he's sprawled upon Top Bed again this morning.

Allergictoironing · 14/09/2017 12:24

He is a cautious cat, and needs to fully examine and observe everything before he can decide whether it is poisoned or not, or has a snake hidden in the folds, or is a trap. Takes mine forever to touch anything new - unless Dreamies or Catnip are involved!

cozietoesie · 14/09/2017 13:17

He's a strange one, though. Very courageous - the first time he encounters something. (Desperate to explore anywhere that's been closed off to him for example.) I think he's truly had to fend for himself and hasn't experienced the joy of luurrvvv.

Lanaorana2 · 14/09/2017 17:38

Well, hasn't he got the best surprise ever in store for his little darling furry self. He is only young, too, brain still plastic.

Some people shouldn't be allowed cats. Look, I know this is probably useless/very rude/unnecessary to Badhome but is it worth a word with the rescue centre? They might know more/be able to do something, although given how low the bar is set on animal welfare regs can't think it would be anything hardcore. They might also want to be tipped the wink in case a Newboy relation rolls up.

Mr C was at least 6 when I got him and feral as buggery. He gets closer to me all the time, still; the best of love is a process.

OP posts:
Mightybanhammer · 14/09/2017 18:06

Cozie - how is he today?
Ollivander - slight derail sorry folks... does Ollie have....fangs? He is the spit of my boy in looks ( except mine is rather bigger) and in temperament . Mine lived on the mean streets for a while, where the awful feral children through stones at him for fun. Angry

Mightybanhammer · 14/09/2017 18:14

cozie - yes meant to say I was well outnumbered there. It was actually quite stressful, even though I love animals! A pregnant stray turned up at the door and we took her in. Something killed all her kittens- suspect it was the alpha female. Siamese are not a cat for a novice to be sure. New boy has landed on his paws , even if he hasn't fully accepted it yet...

cozietoesie · 14/09/2017 18:27

Today has been .......interesting. He didn't ask for his tea but came down, quickly and silently - right into the kitchen - when I called him with his 'food phrase'. Now he's back up but off down the stairs again. (And opening a ground-floor door from the sound of it. I actually have some WD40 but I've decided that I'd rather know what he's up to for the time being. Wink)

Ollivander84 · 14/09/2017 19:43

Mighty - he does! Well. One fang as the other was embedded in his nose. He was a stray for 4 years

cozietoesie · 14/09/2017 19:57

He's talking. (Well. Declaiming, really.) Smile

Lanaorana2 · 14/09/2017 20:27

Darling kitty - hes telling you :)

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 14/09/2017 20:51

Probably his stock recommendations - he was being most insistent. Then sat on the hall rug for a bit, watching me.

Lanaorana2 · 14/09/2017 21:30

He is suffering with a terrible case of sweetness!

Mr Cs got a new thing where he catches my gaze with the Snack Stare and then just opens his mouth a tiny bit as if to mew plaintively. But he can't be bothered, and shuts it again, as that by that time I am already up.

Can I just ask what soup you warm up? Is it a special cat soup?
