Oh god, he climbs now too?! Sleep with one eye open Grin

cozietoesie · 12/09/2017 18:10

And very nimble he seems to be as well. The treats (ground level delivery) were despatched with normal speed - of light, that is Wink - and when I went in there half a minute later to clean his tray, he was back on the top bed. Smile

cozietoesie · 12/09/2017 18:18

Yes indeed, Allergic. (Although actually putting it together was as nothing to the horror of having to master the Allesgescheitnungfourginspapieren - or whatever the 'information leaflet was called. Grin

RubbishMantra · 12/09/2017 21:46

Well that's lovely news. Go Newboy!

cozietoesie · 12/09/2017 22:09

It's partial good news. We've just had a bout of 'indiscriminate peeing'. (Luckily, I'm prepared with all the implements of destruction.) This is a very troubled boy.

Kibobear · 13/09/2017 06:09

Aww Newboy - he's trying so hard not fold to lurve. He has no chance long term though, the lucky lad

NoSquirrels · 13/09/2017 08:53

"Indiscriminate peeing" - is this sort of near his tray but missed, or peed on the sofa sort of thing?

Poor old NewBoy. Poor Cozie! He's determined to test you and see what happens, isn't he?

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 12:21

5 or 6 'missed most of the tray's - when he had a clean tray to disport in and one 'let rip on the carpet'. (I'm pretty sure - I don't remember dropping any liquid.)

I don't know whether to chastise him or not because he seems to like that. Sad

Still. Back on the activity centre this morning. Smile

Allergictoironing · 13/09/2017 13:04

I'm wondering if he likes being told off because it was likely the only form of attention he was used to? Poor cat, that's so important to most orientals especially Siamese.

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 13:12

The thought of him having to sleep on his own as a kitten, as well. (Siamese are usually quite addicted to cuddle-love.) I'm guessing he sort of gathered his skirts and tried to make the best of it. And now........

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 13:33

Picture of the top bed + Newboy. Sorry it's so dark.

Ollivander84 · 13/09/2017 13:56

He looks very at home there

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 13:58

I need to check his 'hidey-place'. (The cupboard behind.) Just to ensure that it's still all clean.

NoSquirrels · 13/09/2017 14:16

Lovely!

Do you get to strike & fuss yet?

Our old boy cat would do just-outside-the-tray pee/poo of displeasure (after a weekend away, for instance). Close enough to show he COULD have gone in the tray, but CHISE not to!

Does NewBoy have covered trays? The extra lips can help for the pee-containment on messy cats if you think that's it - and not seeking-punishment-as-affection behaviour Sad

NoSquirrels · 13/09/2017 14:17

strike = stroke, of course!!! Definitely no striking!

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 14:57

He won't let me near him for a stroke. Sad

He's now responding to conversation though. Even when there's no immediate food in prospect. Smile

Allergictoironing · 13/09/2017 14:57

Nice relaxed looking cat there Smile.

He's VERY handsome.

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 15:01

He's an extremely handsome cat. SmileI'm wondering whether he has some sight problems though. Yesterday evening, I saw him stumble - twice - over some slippers I'd left lying. That's not to be expected, really. (Unless he was distracted by being in my room.)

Lanaorana2 · 13/09/2017 16:30

Beautiful boy, like a Modigliani but furry.

He does look partic fine on a plinth.

He's fit and he knows it. :)

If he is 'emotional weeing' & it seems like he is, at least it's not that often. He might be wazzing for attention, poor baby, which it has to be remembered is a good thing. Well, after one has sworn foully clearing up.

Thing is, you don't want to reward it with positive reinforcement, will ponder in cunning mode. I wish Mr C spoke more English than basic menu items, he would make a very good counsellor.

I'd be worried by the stumbling as well. The world would be a scary place if you couldn't see properly.

Could you even get him back to a vet though?

Justchillaxing · 13/09/2017 17:52

Awww he's beautiful! Looks thoroughly settled on his perch!

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 18:00

I don't think so, Fluffy.

Seniorboy had virtually no sight towards the end but that was just age. We coped just fine of course - I'm a tad worried about him

NoSquirrels · 13/09/2017 18:13

Poor eyesight would explain some things perhaps - I'd be freaked out if I couldn't see the person approaching me well so I'd definitely not be up for a fuss or a cuddle.

And might be why the strong smelling catnip-cardboard scratcher was ounces on eagerly but the tower has had to be around for a while for investigation?

But getting to the vet is a bridge far too far, isn't it?

Well, no harm is coming to him (& that is a fine picture!) so keep playing the long game, I guess.

cozietoesie · 13/09/2017 18:28

I think it may well be a bridge too far. I'll just keep on keeping on, I guess. Lots of conversation and sounds from now on.........
