Haha
Well, he's clearly dreaming of his alternative life as John Holmes Grin
How old is he now?

RubbishMantra · 31/08/2017 03:07

He's 3, but he's never really grown up. You've got the lovely shiny grey cat? Is s/he a Russian Blue?

SoftKittySillyKitty · 31/08/2017 03:32

I'm not sure what she is but the vet thinks probably Russian/Oriental. I got her at six months and she has me properly trained. Tonight I was going to have chicken and potatoes for dinner. But ended up having potatoes and 1 bite of chicken before madam stole the rest. I'm such a soft touch! Hmm

This is my new favourite thread.

Neither of them want to know that mama is turning fifty and needs to leave them tomorrow for a weekZ it's gone down like a lead balloon.

I know what you mean SoftKitty. Mcat, my black and white lump, has been know to just casually help himself to chicken off my plate. He loves Hotel Chocolate salted caramel, and pesters until he gets a bit. Only a teeny crumb mind.

Ollivander84 · 31/08/2017 16:08

Ollie is whining outside "it smells funny and my fur is all full of paint and I am so fed up" Hmm

Aaargh help

Freya has gone all weird this week. We have a wall of mirrored wardrobes in our room. They're very heavy. For a year and a half she has paid them no heed, other than sometimes going inside them to rub herself on my clothes Hmm

But every night since Sunday somewhere between 2 and 5am I've been woken by her frantically pawing at the doors, which then rattle really loudly. If the doors are open she does this from the inside, if they're shut she does it on the outside. She can be lifted up, put on the windowsill and distracted for a bit but then starts again.

She normally sleeps at the bottom of the bed by DPs feet (he's away just now) but on Tuesday night I snapped and put her out of the bedroom at 4am. She then paw paw pawed at the door all night!

Everywhere else is open plan so I can either shut her in the bathroom or the study all night which seems cruel.

What is going on!? I am on call tonight so sleep is extra-precious Grin

cozietoesie · 31/08/2017 17:37

Does this new behaviour tie in with DP's absence?

caoraich · 31/08/2017 17:50

He's been away since Friday, but he is also away for work 1 or 2 nights every week and she usually relishes the opportunity to sleep on his pillow Grin

Maybe she does miss her Man Human but why is she taking it out on the mirror at 4am!?

EachandEveryone · 31/08/2017 17:58

Will
U hear your phone if you put ear plugs in? Yes wonder if she thinks you've buried him in there!

caoraich · 31/08/2017 18:01

Unfortunately not Each
I wondered if there was a mouse or something on the first night but she'd have caught it by now!

cozietoesie · 31/08/2017 19:29

Is this the first time she's known him take an extended stay away? When did the new behaviour start?

Ollivander84 · 31/08/2017 19:36

I fell asleep and woke up to this 😍

Just munching away on what was once my dressing gown tie

Oldraver · 31/08/2017 20:51

We are getting Ernie back at 6pm tomorrow, we haven't seen him for a week. I hope he forgives us

Papergirl1968 · 31/08/2017 21:34

My little darling bit my hand when I tried to grab him and bring him in. He is so good natured normally. He is in now but seems a bit unsettled so wondering if another cat has scared him. He also miaowed loudly when dd picked him up. Have checked him all over and no obvious injuries so can only conclude he is just being grumpy...

caoraich · 31/08/2017 21:42

cozietoesie It started on Sunday night, she's known the two of us to be away before but she's always gone to stay at my mum and dad's if we're away for more than a couple of nights.

Her food etc. is all the same. Unless they've started putting caffeine in the Iams! Grin

cozietoesie · 31/08/2017 22:54

It feels like a big insecurity thing. Maybe she thinks he's Gawn permanently? (He'll be chuffed as all get out when you tell him. Smile)

TheCatOfAthenry · 31/08/2017 23:53

Cookie enjoying the new scratching post.

Biscuit fighting with a plate. Hmm

Pics when you do!

EachandEveryone · 01/09/2017 16:47

Oh do we need that scratching post?

I'm on the coach I'm away for the week. No cat sitter this time I'm trusting the teenage sofasleeper to look out for them and the neighbour next store. I've spent a fortune on gin and biscuits for her so fingers crossed I have chosen well this time.

TheCatOfAthenry · 02/09/2017 00:33

Yes @EachandEveryone - you need it!

Cookie turned one yesterday (we think). She's incredibly sweet.

Due to start volunteering in a cat shelter tomorrow.
