that arrived 3 weeks ago have so far

  • shredded a net curtain
  • disconnected and chewed the TV connection to the satellite dish
  • squeezed into hiding places that I didn't know existed - cue me squeezing behind shelves to find a pair of eyes in the shadows
  • walked on my chest at 4am every morning shouting for breakfast/to play (and thus are learning that their names at this time of night are "Fuck Off" and "Are You Mental") - before you think I'm cruel, they have a bowl of dry food always available
  • generated more vile smelling poo that I've ever had to deal with from DD
  • are going to cost me €500 for jabs, spaying and microchipping
  • prefer very cheap wet food to the nice Royal Canin that I treated them to - the rescue had them on Whiskas
  • have part bankrupted me with toys/cat trees/cat caves that just look soo cute and of course they prefer the box

But are worth it as they are just cute as bejaysis!

Anyone else with a furry overlord who prefers the cheap food - and is it OK to compensate for it with decent dry food?

The black and white one has the most amazing facial markings-- I am so so jealous Smile

EachandEveryone · 24/07/2017 15:02

Yes my kitten is on the science plan dry as well. She loves it I'm not bothering to read the ingredients cos if it says it's hardly got any meat in it I'll be really upset as I've bought a massive bag and it wasn't cheap.

littlewoollypervert · 25/07/2017 13:47

They broke a lamp last night. Mind you I didn't like it - it was purple glass and you couldn't read by it. So really they did me a favour....

I give mine the kitten AVA stuff from pets at home. Has 66% meat apparently. They seem to like it. They have Sheba fine flakes and gourmet Perle adult stuff as they turned their noses up at all the quality kitten stuff I offered. Bought quite a few high meat stuff from zooplus and bitiba and donated a lot to the rspca bins in the supermarket too! They are coming up on 9 months now

EachandEveryone · 25/07/2017 20:09

Yes ive just bought two boxes of Felix for Dolly as im leaving her with a sitter and i cant put the poor woman through the rejection of the posh stuff.

Im glad you never liked your lampive got a floor one they dont bother with.

littlewoollypervert · 25/07/2017 21:18

Oh I've a floor lamp upstairs I could use! The lunatics are now playfighting on the windowsill behind me - they were previously on the mantlepiece but one fell off.

littlewoollypervert · 25/07/2017 22:57

Lunatics! Mine are doing that mad chasing about thing that they fonat 830 every night. Dreading leaving them tomorrow.

littlewoollypervert · 27/07/2017 14:08

Ah, the zoomies.

Remember they will probably be doing that while you are out today Each and having a ball.

They will then run to the door when you arrive home and meow piteously at you, you cruel hooman.

My little ginger hitler has decided that felix is for him. So we bought a huge box. Except there is tuna. He is the only cat I know who doesn't like fish. Oh well, the local sanctuary will be chuffed.
Here he is eating fries. Dick.

One of my dicks did a puke this morning. And while I was at work. I take it she doesn't like Sheba so have reverted to cheap Lidl & Whiskas food. No more pukes so far.
Both are now sitting on the table trying to take my phone from me, the nosey little divas.

EachandEveryone · 02/08/2017 01:40

Mine pukes with tuna

littlewoollypervert · 02/08/2017 06:36

Hmmm I'll check the packaging - maybe it's that rather than the brand. Just had to lock them in the kitchen - they've been like baby elephants for the last 30 mins, and my house is not terrace with no carpet to absorb the noise. Furry arseholes!

My two like the Lidl wet food. I give them Harrington's dry food, which isn't too expensive and is quite good. They loathed Felix with a passion, tolerate Whiskas as a change if I run out of Lidl's and hated Tesco's own wet food. They only get a sachet of wet food in the morning each and then dry for the rest of the time. The dog is quite partial to their food as well and they would happily return the favour and eat his if I didn't put my foot down and stop them.

Right now we have family staying and CandleCat2 was about to come and join the family last night when he realised that the person on the floor was not someone he knew, so he hastily changed direction. CandleCat1 jumped up onto another visitor's knee, then realised she wasn't me, looked rather horrified as she stroked him and made a dignified retreat!

EachandEveryone · 02/08/2017 07:28

My kitten loves that science plan dry so I don't think I'll change it I'm not sure how good the wet version of it is butvthe dry has 40% meat tbh I can't wait to get her onto the adult food.

sashh · 02/08/2017 07:37

I fostered two catletts (bigger than kittens, but not yet cats - made up word) that gained the nicknames, 'the black tigers' because they were black and tabby - you couldn't always see the tabby depending on the light.

You are being very unreasonable to not get up at 4.00am to feed them.

littlewoollypervert · 02/08/2017 07:40

Grin I put flea stuff on them last night and am worming them today, reckon unreasonable is the mildest thing they are thinking about me at the moment!

Little

Do you have a chimney? My friend moved house and the cats discovered the chimney, sooty cats make a lot of mess.

EachandEveryone · 02/08/2017 08:25

Can you get the three on one from the vets next time you go? I think they have to be over 1.5kg it's just a drop on the neck

valeriarrgh · 02/08/2017 08:53

Oof! They look like trouble! Smile

My furry overlords are currently glaring at me because the weather is unpleasant this morning and that is clearly my fault.

They eat eat iams biscuits. Or purina one. Purely because it is the only thing that all 3 of them will eat. They turned their noses up at the very expensive applaws ones I got them. They love really stinky fishy wet food (I forget what it's called, comes in little tins and has a picture of a white cat on it) and using the sofa to scratch on rather than the very large, very expensive scratching thing they got for christmas.

Pictures. Obvs.

There was a ginger furry fucker in my house today eating my kitties food! One of my kittens was apparently sitting on the floor watching him. We don't have a cat flap so had been leaving the sliding patio door open a bit so the kittens can come in and out. Have closed it over but now mine can't come and go as they please

dementedpixie · 02/08/2017 09:01

I use a flea spot on for mine that is monthly and think it covers some worms but also use a worming tablet every 3 months - both from the vet (advocate and milbemax)

dementedpixie · 02/08/2017 09:06

One of mine also puked today. He was lying on the carpet beside the little pile. Should just be glad he wasn't eating it again I suppose! Doesn't seem ill and is quite chirpy so hope he's ok

Which Sheba was it? I give fine flakes as it had no added cereals that some cats can be sensitive to. Mine also like gourmet perle but have kitten dry food -AVA from pets at home (66% meat)
