that arrived 3 weeks ago have so far

  • shredded a net curtain
  • disconnected and chewed the TV connection to the satellite dish
  • squeezed into hiding places that I didn't know existed - cue me squeezing behind shelves to find a pair of eyes in the shadows
  • walked on my chest at 4am every morning shouting for breakfast/to play (and thus are learning that their names at this time of night are "Fuck Off" and "Are You Mental") - before you think I'm cruel, they have a bowl of dry food always available
  • generated more vile smelling poo that I've ever had to deal with from DD
  • are going to cost me €500 for jabs, spaying and microchipping
  • prefer very cheap wet food to the nice Royal Canin that I treated them to - the rescue had them on Whiskas
  • have part bankrupted me with toys/cat trees/cat caves that just look soo cute and of course they prefer the box

But are worth it as they are just cute as bejaysis!

Anyone else with a furry overlord who prefers the cheap food - and is it OK to compensate for it with decent dry food?

Well I've hardly got any blinds left the little one has been swinging from them all night long. I'm not even sure of my new flooring myself now I've never heard anything like it all night long it was like a herd of wild boar running through my flat. Dolly kind of likes it.

How very dare you spoil their view with net curtain Grin

littlewoollypervert · 06/08/2017 13:14

Oh they hang out of it and play with it now. I'm waiting for the 'rrriippppp' sound!

How old are they now? Did they come just after Doll? She's 17 weeks now. Yours are really changing do you think they will grow out of it? Is yours addicted to dreamies I think they must've given her them all the time at the rescue she's rather have a plate of them than proper bloody food.

Doobigetta · 06/08/2017 16:57

Mine has just had to be ejected from the kitchen AGAIN, because the minute she was let in she jumped up on the side and started licking the outside of the bolognese pan. While it was cooking.

littlewoollypervert · 07/08/2017 06:20

Worms in the poo! Yuk yuk ick horrible! Vet gave them strong worming tablets that are obviously working. Shudder. Going to worm myself just in case.

Just threw out the noodles I had put aside from yesterday's lunch for today. Looked far too...wriggly.

Here are my recently (as in Sunday just gone) adopted boys, as you can see, one is a black and white and the other all black similar to yours OP! Bit older though at just over 1 year.

They are fucking massive. It's like a small herd of horses thundering up and down the stairs (mainly in the evenings when they are feeling braver). Our old cats were smaller (although one was quite large, he shrank with age), and older so we are not used to this youthful enthusiasm! Beautiful boys though, so solid and really coming out of their shells after hiding most of Sunday.

And no, we are not spoiling them by letting them eat in DD's bedroom at all...it was just to lure them out from under the beds 😇

We believe you...and they will sleep in the kitchen, right? Wink

The black one has quite dainty paws - but the white one looks like a toughie! They are gorgeous.

They have such shiney coats. I've just been to Lidl now that I'm paying £80 a month vets fees I thought I better try and sneak the odd 19p tray of cat food in. No doubt they will laugh in my face.

littlewoollypervert · 09/08/2017 11:55

£80 a month ?

littlewoollypervert · 09/08/2017 11:58

Mine love the cheap food - but the pate style didn't like them.

I have them down to 1.5 pouches a day between them (was 3 a day up to last Saturday) as the vet said I was feeding them too much, and they could have mainly dry food.

The beer/food bellies have become smaller already.

However Margo's shouting for breakfast is much louder, and when they finish it, they follow me for about 5 mins in hopes of getting more out of me.

Barbara still doesn't talk - but she does look like she is trying, I wonder if it's too high pitched for me to hear?

dementedpixie · 09/08/2017 12:03

Mine don't like pate food, they refuse to eat it. I give a pouch each twice a day and leave dry down all the time.

Why £80 A month?

EachandEveryone · 09/08/2017 14:36

Pet plan £24 each. Then £13 each for the vets plan which covers vaccines, worming, flea treatment, free microchip and 10% off all treatments I'm just trying to work out if it's worth it for Daphne as she only needs boosters.

They hated the Lidl food they both like hills or sheba hills has got bad reviews though you would think at the price they charge it would be good for them. They have two sachets of wet a day but 9/10 they just eat the gravy. If someone invented gravy pouches that were complete they'd make a bomb.

littlewoollypervert · 10/08/2017 21:23

Yes my two love the gravy/jelly too.

Well I moved my kitchen table as I was having visitors last night - and now the hooligans can leap from the table onto the kitchen counters. Divils. They're now asleep on the kitchen chair on top of each other.

I have a Margo(t) that is nearly all black with white bits. The only time she makes noise is when she gets trodden on. Bastard cat has been out all day and came back at lunch minus her collar then buggered off again with the 'emergency' collar on. Kids are still awake looking out bedroom window for her.
Her sister is a lunatic (tabby and white). They eat shite tins from Aldi and Iams for breakfast.
they are just over 1 year old, hate each other and are total bastards but very cute. I'm sure Cats Protection laughed when we picked them up.

littlewoollypervert · 15/08/2017 12:01

My stairs are dark grey, I have to make sure to put the light on if I've to go downstairs at night as my bastardcats have taken to winding round my feet as I descend, and I can't see them in the dark. Would defo get a good sound out of them if I trod on one - I have a (big) weight advantage and they are still only little....

Barbara (the quiet black and white one) has a strange "thumb sucking" habit going on. When she's purring beside me on the bed while going to sleep, she sucks the pads of her right front paw, while kneading the bedclothes with her left front paw (like she is feeding from mum and kneading to encourage the milk)

It's really loud! Margo doesn't do it at all though. Barbara's paw ends up nice and clean, and she seems to walk and run on it OK, so I don't think it's raw (yet). However I'm afraid to stroke her too much at night as it seems to trigger the purring/sucking, which goes on for a good 5-10 minutes each time. Cats are weird.
