I have taken the liberty of making a new thread! Maisie and Freya are relaxing in a patch of sun

My two are delighted that I was up early to see the ends of the results coming in - crazycat is out hunting and babycat has played and fallen asleep on my chest again just in time for me to try and get up and in the shower.

Dusty is being a lap cat and I don't know if storm is inside or outside

Zara made her first kill today! It was a vole, and when I took it off her, she made a sound I'd never heard before! Is she becoming a real cat at last? Desert creature that she is, she's loving the weather and has been known to lie on metal in direct sunlight. I got up late because was at friend's watching the results till late so Bibi is arranging her day accordingly and is still in her 'morning' nap mode.

We are moving in 3 weeks and I have to pack uuuugh. I have bastard hypermobility syndrome and am on codeine at the moment, its going to half kill me.

I've never ever seen The Lodger with a feathered creature even though he's Armageddon on four legs to anything small and furry. (And The Lodger is a hunter par excellence.)

Nightmare, nosy neighbour.

Ernie has caught what we think is his first mouse baby rat.

I thought he was after a bumble bee, went in to tell him off and he threw it in the air.

I screamed, DS burst into tears and OH is going..."yesss, Ernie". OH is still pissed the mouse ate his fishing gear and the pram.

We left him too it for a while until he darted in the house and DS's screeching drove him into the bedroom was able to grab him before he disappeared underneath....Dont think he is pleased his mouse has been taken off him

Oldraver · 09/06/2017 16:39

Am I going to have to disinfect him before I can cuddle him ?

cozietoesie · 09/06/2017 17:44

Goodness No. He'll clean himself if it's needed. Smile

Waiting at the vets for vaccinations and chipping

That's a sort of 'resigned' look.

Oldraver · 09/06/2017 18:28

I'm consoling myself with that fact no guts were spilled.

I've had four cats before who were prolific killers and one who would disembowel rats. I wasn't germ phobic back then...

TheCatOfAthenry · 09/06/2017 19:16

Biscuit had a visit to vet with DP. Vomiting but well in himself.

Vet asked was cat inbred and lectured DP about Biscuit's nutritional status (much improved since we got him.) He was told kitten was underweight (without weighing him) even though I do and he tops the charts. We feed him incredibly pricey grain free stuff because it's so nutritionally complete and Cookie gets diarrhoea from grains. Suitable for weaning.

Also told he had a flu and given a single dose antibiotic and that makes no sense because flu is viral.

Kitten recovering and will start a new food once we're out of boiled chicken.

All that matters is my kitty is ok, but DP is a little put out. Also vet never said Biscuit is lovely. So we're all feeling sensitive tonight! Sad

Oldraver · 09/06/2017 19:51

Can you get a different vet ?

TheCatOfAthenry · 09/06/2017 20:04

Think we might... I don't want to be too precious, but rudeness on top of lack of important questioning was a little too much.

Such a happy little fuzz.

HemanOrSheRa · 09/06/2017 20:43

Oh no. Poor little boy. Get a different vet. That is not really an answer for you is it? Is he eating too fast? Having a growth spurt and guzzling his food?

cozietoesie · 09/06/2017 21:16

The vet never commented on Biscuit's supreme loveliness? Shock

cozietoesie · 09/06/2017 21:21

PS - the weight is something else but an AB with flu isn't, I think, entirely daft if a cat is poorly. Flu may be viral but you can encounter 'opportunistic infections' which an AB shot might well help with. (I guess they sort of sneak in and establish themselves while the immune system is otherwise occupied.) One of the vet's who post might comment?

cozietoesie · 09/06/2017 21:23

vets

TheCatOfAthenry · 09/06/2017 21:54

@cozietoesie that makes sense, I suppose I'm making my judgement based on human flu, and it would rarely lead to opportunistic infection in 24 hours, but cats may be different!

He's not 'fluey' or unwell, just simple vom a few times. Either way, he's well and I'm happy but I want his vet to think he's a beauty!

cozietoesie · 09/06/2017 22:06

Was he your normal vet?

Vinorosso74 · 09/06/2017 22:16

Ollivander stable cat's mouth is terrifying!

cozietoesie · 09/06/2017 22:24

Those teeth are shining clean, aren't they? Clearly, lots of friction there. Wink

TheCatOfAthenry · 09/06/2017 23:09

First visit to this practice. Was supposed to have jabs tomorrow, but putting them off a week or so. Still not sure what she meant when she said he looked inbred. Confused

Vinorosso74 · 09/06/2017 23:10

That'll be the as nature intended diet.
Actually Vinocat has good teeth. Everything else is faulty but not them so much so that any new vet or student comment on them.
