Arghh! Fatty's jaw out again

Got home from a 12.5 hour shift and the jaw out. No idea how she's done it again. Despite keeping an eye on the spy camera. The specialist will see her tomorrow. Meanwhile she's at the local vet hospital having methadone to keep her comfortable because the orthopaedic surgeon wants to see her with it dislocated if possible. The vet is under strict instructions that she is to put it back in if she's in any pain at all. She wasn't happy but I still has to chase her round the house to get her in her basket. Hopefully we can get some answers this time.

Fluffy, he didurealky say about the recovery time but cat's di bounce back quite quickly and I'll make sure she gets her pain killers. She's home at the minute.

Cozie, the vet did tell me to tell her to yawn more when it pops out!

cozietoesie · 08/05/2017 19:18

Yawn more?

Wolfiefan · 08/05/2017 19:18

Wow!
I haven't met a cat who will do much of anything on demand. Much less yawn.
Hope the procedure goes well, she recovers quickly and it works.

Toddlerteaplease · 08/05/2017 19:29

He was joking. Apparently she just needs to open her mouth wider to unlock it. Hmm don't fancy putting my fingers in her mouth. I might unlock her but loose my fingers in the process!

Does it hurt her? Looks awfully traumatic!
Maybe borrow a dog she can shout at?

ElizaDontlittle · 08/05/2017 19:37

That's very cool - thank you for sharing the pictures! Hope it is all straightforward for her on Thursday - are you off? - and most importantly, effective.

Toddlerteaplease · 08/05/2017 19:50

She's very happy that she looks like a sabre toothed tiger under all that fluff. Working Thursday but probably going to take her Wednesday night, if I can't get the morning off. Will pick her up Friday morning abc my dad will will cat sit Friday and Saturday night while I'm working.

Managed to get someone to do my early shift so I don't have to take her in the night before. Means I can feed her up as I know she won't eat at the vets. The darling girl had cat litter stuck to her wiskars this morning. Wonder what an earth she was up to overnight! Hmm

The difference between her and a fearsome huntress tiger is merely one of scale, really. Can't do that with human CTs in this trust
I'm really glad someone has covered you. I guess these favours are often returned. So she needs to do lots of eating but no yawning. See, even typing the word yawning makes me yawn!

Toddlerteaplease · 09/05/2017 17:24

Eliza. Only if the neurosurgeons at work left himself logged into the images programme so I looked up my own MRI abs took photos of it. And was explanation to his medical students.

Oh - I meant separating out the bones like that, it's pretty cool!! You can window but not see them totally on their own. I am not going to comment on whether I've looked at my own scans - though I think it's pretty widely done Smile

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/05/2017 05:45

Is it a bit wrong of me to want to get my boy's head scanned now? I'd be framing those and hanging them on the wall!
Glad they've identified the issue.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/05/2017 10:07

Ha ha, I wanted to hang my own MRI on the wall. Glad it's not just me! Madam is being super affectionate today. Don't know what's got into her!

Omg the rescue I got these two from has a 9 month old black Persian who is the absolute spot of Fatty and shares the same name as Snorg. Tell me why it's a bad idea!!

cozietoesie · 10/05/2017 15:34

2 to 3 is usually a lot easier than 1 to 2.

MsMims · 10/05/2017 15:39

Well if there's a little one in rescue needing a home...

It would be rude not to, surely? Grin

Hope all goes well with the operation and she won't be bothered by it anymore.

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/05/2017 16:01

Triplets sounds perfect!

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/05/2017 16:53

We had 4. It's doable.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/05/2017 17:17

Not sure I can cope with three identical cats!! The surgeon phoned this afternoon to answer the questions I forgot to ask the other day. So feeling nervous but reassured.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 10/05/2017 17:18

Wonder if her having the same name as Snorg is fate though!

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/05/2017 17:23

Not at all. She would need to be renamed as soon as, though. Smile

HemanOrSheRa · 10/05/2017 18:21

We can't tell you it's a bad idea! Because it's not! It's a wonderful idea. You can lavish your love on another deserving kitty Smile.
