Sorry. That should perhaps read 'They always know and often show it'.

EachandEveryone · 14/05/2017 22:40

Confused. Keeping busy. My dad is seeing the oncologist tomorrow and we will know more then we'll, it's terminal but I don't know what the plan will be. The whole relationship is very fractured and there's lots going on. I don't know when to go up north I feel out of the loop here but at the same time I can't just drop everything and go but of course if I have to I will. I stocked up on her food and litter today and warned the neighbour. TBH I'd rather send her to the farm but I can't give them a time and it could get very costly.

GertyTheGert · 14/05/2017 22:49

My puddin has just mugged me - I was quietly munching on some Walkers cheese n onion crisps when he jumped up, paw in the bag in a matter of 1/4 of a second, nabbed a crisp, jumped down, then 3 secs later back for the whole bag. . . . . .

YesItsMeIDontCare · 14/05/2017 22:51

@Weedsnseeds1 - Leroy accompanies me to the toilet, his litter tray is next to the loo. Here's hoping he gets the idea too then!

@Ollivander84 - Sounds horrible! Hope you get better soon. Flowers

Leroy is currently sulking because he's lost both his Mousies and no-one is tearing the house apart right this very second to find the little bastard things. It will have to wait until tomorrow. He's battering the hell out of the Therapy Box so we're clearly not allowed sleep as penance 🙄.

cozietoesie · 14/05/2017 22:54

All the best then, Each. We'll be thinking of you.

Remember to sleep (or at least lie down) and eat properly.

SnickersWasAHorse · 14/05/2017 22:54

Today my girl had a fight with a grass snake.
I think she would have won had I not stopped her.

EachandEveryone · 14/05/2017 23:00

Sleep pattern is weird for me and Daph as I'm on nights but off the next three. Hope the sun is shining tomorrow then we can have a nice day finishing the balcony off and I can pretend I'm in hipster Brooklyn not one of the roughest parts of London!

Weedsnseeds1 · 14/05/2017 23:53

yesitsme Leroy is clearly another pedigree Faux Siberian, so I'm sure he can work it out, they are a very clever breed!

Bogburglar75 · 15/05/2017 09:20

BC will have to do some work on his credibility at this rate, since all he seems to do with the toilet is put two paws on the rim and try and dive after the flush Grin

It's just not enough to have a fancy certificate these days ...

ElizaDontlittle · 15/05/2017 10:03

I was going to post about the kits you can get that teach your cat to use the toilet and whether anyone had used them or thought they were worth it?! That said crazycat isn't the brightest soul and has supervised me endlessly in there and not ever shown any sign of wanting to use the 'human litter tray'.
This morning we are mostly repeating the go out and get wet -> come in, miaow, dry herself on my clothes or the soft furnisings -> decide to go out... etc. Along with complaining that I won't turn the rain off she also has decided she doesn't like the sample pack of feringa tins I bought from zooplus so we are having a standoff and she's hungry Grin I know I will back down first, I always do.
Each thinking of you today Flowers

dementedpixie · 15/05/2017 10:37

The cat beds I bought and where they actually choose to sleep!

Mine went off feringa too btw so I donated the tins to the rspca basket in tesco

YesItsMeIDontCare · 15/05/2017 10:55

@Weedsnseeds1 - Faux Siberian is better than his current identity crisis of being a Siberian Norwegian Rag from Maine!

@dementedpixie - looks about right! Can't beat a good old cardboard box Grin.

Kokusai · 15/05/2017 10:58

@SnickersWasAHorse no way! I've never seen a grass snake. Kinda exciting but also a bit scary to see your cat with one?

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 11:28

I have a 'fake' snake. Indian, I think - I don't know if you can still buy them. They're made of pieces of wood which are mounted on to a thin strip of leather to provide articulation and sinuous flexibility. (Imagine a spine from a skeleton: it's a little like that would be if it was mounted and could move.)

Anyway. Enough of this pitiful attempt at description. The point is that this thing looks like a snake, is articulated like a snake and - if you hold it midways and wiggle it - moves just like a real snake. And cats are transfixed. It's almost like First Mirror or First Snow. They suddenly behave differently and - in the case of the 'snake' - they act as if they were back to being very serious predators indeed.

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 11:34

Ah. Found them on eBay. 'wooden snake toy' should do it. Smile

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 11:43

Kokusai

There's a real old movie called 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' with a scene - I won't tire you with the plot - where the 'hero' is living in a doll's house and faces a cat predation. It might be worth while catching it some day.

cozietoesie · 15/05/2017 12:09

I hope you didn't spend too long on it? Smile

Oldraver · 15/05/2017 12:29

Not long enough to Ernie proof it by the looks of it

We reckon it's a ploy to entice the pigeons down... as he can't climb the fence or tree to get at them

iloveeverykindofcat · 15/05/2017 13:04

Zara is denning in a pile of washing. Bibi is patrolling with an eye out for the new Bengal kitten in the neighborhood. It's about 6 months and sounds like a squeak toy.

BillyBeerMonster · 15/05/2017 13:05

Its my gorgeous cheeky baby's 13th birthday today. Happy birthday! Cake

SnickersWasAHorse · 15/05/2017 13:12

Kokusai

My garden backs onto woodland which itself backs into heathland. We get lots of snakes.
She saw me looking at it and then decided to take it on.
I yelled for DH to come out and grab her.

It made it off in the end.
