Our cats have never had collars. However none of them have been good at catching birds (rubber bands, yes, worms, yes, toads/frogs yes Confused) - except once when we were on holiday and SIL was feeding the cats and one of them (girl cat we assume as old boy cat had aspirations rather than skill) caught a magpie (she hates magpies) and then took it apart in the hallway/stairwell Shock

Lanaorana2 · 07/05/2017 18:46

Is Olli still considering an issue and...on the fence?

missg00se · 07/05/2017 18:47

We had a da bird for Jeff when we lived in a flat and he was an indoor cat. He loved it, regularly used to jump as high as my head to try and catch it (I'm quite short, he's not a super-cat).

Sadly I think it trained him too well for the real thing... Shock

Can't recommend the da bird enough for keeping them entertained though. Jeff used to get really excited when the postman dropped parcels of new attachments I'd ordered through the letterbox. (He can be a very doggy cat that way.)

missg00se · 07/05/2017 18:51

@prettybird Shock that's a skill. Your poor SIL! We had a cat that tried to drag a seagull through the cat flap once. It did not end well for either the cat or the gull...

prettybird · 07/05/2017 19:36

I think it was just a lot of feathers left Grin

cozietoesie · 07/05/2017 19:54

SIL not really a cat person? Smile

prettybird · 07/05/2017 21:48

Fortunately she is: she has 2 cats, one of whom had 3 sets of litters before she managed to control her access outside long enough to get her spayedShock

cozietoesie · 07/05/2017 21:58

Ah well. It's just that that sort of behaviour sounds like the sort of 'See You' that cats in our family have been known to give to people who didn't deep down like them. Or people they were displeased with for some reason.......

Ollivander84 · 07/05/2017 22:06

Ollie has come in finally and demanded cuddles. After being outside sat on the bins plotting world domination and doing "cat FINGS not for humans to know about"

'not for humans to know about... until they skid in the night.' Grin

Ollivander84 · 08/05/2017 00:01

I suspect his is more towards battering other cats if they glance towards my house or stealing tasty snacks from the neighbours Grin

DS2 is going away for 3 days with school. Hoolies cat has been dropping hints that he wants to go with him.

MsHooliesCardigan · 08/05/2017 07:22

Athenry your tree is a thing of beauty.

Want2beme · 08/05/2017 10:19

My cat is sulking big time

We brought home a puppy on Saturday....she is not impressed at all.

She is now forcing my bedroom door open at 4am to get some snuggles because she refuses to go near me otherwise

TheCatOfAthenry · 08/05/2017 10:49

Lying down as though she's upright.

That's because you're staying in. He's in a mood for 'gazing'. Wink

Has he upchucked again?

Ollivander84 · 08/05/2017 16:13

I've been out! Nope, no more sickness. He got shut in the living room at 5am as he was clambering over me howling Hmm

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 08/05/2017 16:23

Ah. He's 'guarding' then. Smile

Good news about the sick - although don't worry too much if he has a little one soon. He's sort of due in the normal course of things, probably. It might not mean he's back to his daily escapade.
