......will one day falter.

I'm afraid that Seniorboy died late this afternoon. At the vet's. I have some very very fine whisky waiting to salute him with and I am just going to go and light a candle for him. I probably won't be around for a few days - or if I am, you'll have to bear with some rather tipsy posting.

My Darling old lad.

Thinking of you this evening too cozie Flowers

ittybittyluna · 31/03/2017 21:50

Sorry to hear this Cozie Flowers

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 31/03/2017 21:57

Sending condolences for the loss of your lovely Seniorboy (and so much more)
have just been battling here-mumsiecat versus acute kidney failure.
was told by vet:
"mumsiecat kidney function not compatible with life"
I cried for a week. Inexplicably she has battled through and improving.
They are such an important part of the family and our lives.
Sending Halo for Seniorboy and Gin for you

RustyPaperclip · 31/03/2017 22:02

Oh cozie, I have only just seen this but I am so sorry, I will have a glass of something tonight to toast dear Seniorboy. I'm so very sorry for your loss, you helped me so much when my Siamese boy died. I will light a candle for them both tonightWineFlowers May they both be keeping each other company

cozietoesie · 31/03/2017 22:06

About a year ago, we were told by the vet - well by two vets actually - that they couldn't hear anything from the right side of Seniorboy's heart. The youngsters were initially quizzical about this eg 'But why is he still here then?' In the way of things, they soon moved on to 'Oh well. If it works for him'. Grin

Good luck to mumsiecat. Smile

He was such a handsome chap (I'm a sucker for a Siamese). Seniorboy looked so much like the first Siamese I ever owned. I do miss having a Siamese in the home, and I suspect any Siamese would be lucky to have a home with you cozie Smile

cozietoesie · 31/03/2017 23:20

One of the menfolk of the family said, spontaneously, recently - ' A house isn't a home without a Siamese, is it?' (I suspect that most posters here would alter that to 'without a cat'.Wink)

That's what I feel I have tonight - just a house and not a home.

Ho Hum. Tomorrow will be better I guess.

Cozie, seeing his photo made me very teary indeed yet I didn't even know him. His beautiful knowing expression will be with you forever. Bless him, bless you and your family. May Seniorboy be playing with my three cats over rainbow bridge, amongst the lush green grass and daisies. One can but hope >^^<

My handsome boy is 19 mid April and has randomly been getting a bit stumbly recently, so I dread the day. RIP Seniorboy xx

cozietoesie · 01/04/2017 00:04

Thanks, Gerty. He was a fine old gentleman.

You'll think I'm totes nuts but when I saw his picture I felt an affinity which I can't explain. Honestly. Ok I'm cat mad but ........... My MrBWBoy is the same - EVERYONE says oooh a gentleman and a scholar!!! Perhaps that IS the affinity? Ahhhhhhh bless their pretty faces, furry velvet paws and pure love. xx

So sorry Cozie FlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowers, only just heard. Thinking of you.

cozietoesie · 01/04/2017 00:51

Thanks.

I've lit another candle. That's helped.

Cozie Knowing you, you could never simply live in a building - something tells me the minute you walked in it would be a home. - Although you must be bereft, it's not just Seniorboy who made it. Think of the other people who might want to come and stay, you never know who is round the corner.

Try and lay claim to a bit more of the bed tonight - your toes, at least, will enjoy it.

RubbishMantra · 01/04/2017 01:34

Thinking of you and your sadness, Cozie You will be OK, you lovely person...

I've not yet given up the 6" rule - DH, Little M and MCat took up most of the space. Cats are very good at subliminal conditioning, aren't they? I have however, shifted onto the other side of the bed though, that has the night-table next to it...

You take care now. And I'm throwing a big ((hug)) at you. I'll be most offended if you don't accept it!

cozietoesie · 01/04/2017 01:38

Oh I won't reject it.

I should say, though, that I have the night table next to the (small) side of the bed which I'm allowed already.

I know my place. Grin

Dear oh dear. What a sad week it's been here in the litter tray Sad. I feel like we should have some sort of interweb group hug. I've had to take to the spare bedroom and make a nest for myself and my fur babies. I'm a wet eyed, dafty old fool Blush.

I hope you've managed to get some rest cozie. The cats have left the nest now as the birds are singing. Is a photo of a tiny cat sized doggy allowed Smile?

LanaorAna1 · 01/04/2017 09:46

Well said M.

Talking of beds, Mr C slashed me so hard on the nose when I failed to serve his breakfast at 659 I had to stagger up to change the pillowcases and my nightie, face buried in a towel. Of course the sodding door went, and the poor Amazon man (bearing Catsan) took one look and nearly passed out. Grin

My helpless tiny kitten is now slumbering, smiling, on the clean pillowcases. Grin

MsHooliesCardigan · 01/04/2017 10:06

cozie I'm so sorry. I am going to the MumsNet meet up today. We will raise a glass for your lovely lad 🥃

wtffgs · 01/04/2017 10:17

Just seen this.

RIP Seniorboy. What a magnificent age! 💐

Mermaidinthesea · 01/04/2017 10:18

What a fantastic age for a cat to reach, but very very sorry for the loss of him. He looks like a wonderful cat xxxx

PenguindreamsofDraco · 01/04/2017 11:00

Sorry to hear this. What a wonderful age though!

cozietoesie · 01/04/2017 11:09

Thanks all. It was indeed a fine age - rather changed my views on having older cats as well. Smile

HeMan I agree! I've teared up at several threads this week! Partly cos they remind me of losing my first cat Sammy after he was paralyzed in a fall, but mostly cos I just love cats and cat people Flowers

LanaorAna1 · 01/04/2017 11:39

Hope you had a bit of sleep C. 22 must practically break a record.
