......will one day falter.

I'm afraid that Seniorboy died late this afternoon. At the vet's. I have some very very fine whisky waiting to salute him with and I am just going to go and light a candle for him. I probably won't be around for a few days - or if I am, you'll have to bear with some rather tipsy posting.

My Darling old lad.

And I understand the candle burning, For me, it was burning white sage incense. I'll always find that smell sad, yet comforting.

LanaorAna1 · 03/04/2017 10:25

What a brilliant thing to say M. How goes it? On the subject of non-human crushes, I burn with frightful love for the Cadbury's gorilla - DH Lawrence level. Took me by surprise a bit. Nasty :)

Hope you are doing ok this morning Cozie. Mr C is still on double sweets to mark Seniorboy's passing and I am about to nip downstairs to give our ancient caretaker age 90 a bundle of chews that his cats love In Memoriam. Spirit of Seniorboy, not me, at work here.

RubbishMantra · 03/04/2017 15:22

Ooh, very Edgar Allan Poe, L! That gorilla love must be most disturbing!

My teacher (who I also had a crush on) proclaimed The Numan "short", when I brought a poster from Smash Hits in for a sort of show and tell type thing. Thing is, teacher was extremely short himself. My teacher crush evaporated that day...

How are you today Cozie? I hope you're OK. Eaten something? I found that tricky at first. Probably TMI, but I needed a sick bowl whilst eating close to me in the first month or so. Grief affects the body in strange ways. Oh, that sounds disgusting... I'm sure you're handling your sadness far more elegantly than I did.

I am sending strength.

LivingInMidnight · 03/04/2017 16:49

I've only just seen this Sad. I'm so sorry cozie Flowers. Hope you're doing OK.

cozietoesie · 03/04/2017 18:01

Thank you Mantra and Living. I'm doing OK. I've removed pretty well all of Seniorboy's things and am in the middle - after a fashion Wink - of a 'Spring Clean'. That will help also. Smile

LanaorAna1 · 03/04/2017 18:35

Massive congrats on that Herculean task, not to mention the Spring Clean cozie.

It's all smiles here as ham was reduced in M&S. I'm getting some frankly frenzied purring.

Papergirl1968 · 03/04/2017 19:50

Came across this by chance and thought of Cozie and Seniorboy x

CoolCarrie · 03/04/2017 20:30

That is a lovely picture Papergirl

Papergirl1968 · 03/04/2017 21:39

I know. Not big into angels but I used to have Siamese and I liked it.

limitedperiodonly · 03/04/2017 21:46

Cozie I cleaned under the kitchen sink yesterday and found Nobby's favourite things - a pack of three little foam paint rollers that he loved to attack.

I brought them with him when I collected him - along with his carry case, litter tray, giant scratching post, three blankets, two towels, pillows, food, toys - he had more luggage than me.

I put them away and forgot about them. He didn't get to play with them and that made me so sad when I found them. But he got to do other things

RubbishMantra · 03/04/2017 23:03

Bit of a tantrum tonight, over a ham hock sandwich, from MCat.

I know what you mean about sorting his stuff. I remember you posting about buying loads of little floppy eared dogs, yet he'd only entertain the one, which he'd drag into his water bowl.

cozietoesie · 03/04/2017 23:35

Ah. The extra ones are all still down in the laundry, in a big bag.

I'll have to run them through the washing machine, to freshen them. You reminded me. Smile

Sorry to be a reminder of domestic chores - cats like things they play with to smell interesting anyway - I've never washed any of their's. The valerian "prawnz" was a big hit with LM. Had to go outside though, because it stunk the entire house out.

I'm now imagining you pegging up loads of floppy eared dogs by the ears to dry!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 04/04/2017 10:29

Harry had something that contained valerian but it was so disgusting I binned it. Thankfully it wasn't something he was over keen on, I think it was too grim even for him!

cozietoesie · 04/04/2017 11:39

You're not far wrong about the dogs pegged out. They're actually clean - it's just in case any of them have a whiff (to a sensitive nose) of Seniorboy about them.

RubbishMantra · 04/04/2017 12:02

Wishing you a sunny day cozie, in order for your row of flappy eared dogs to dry. Not sunny here though.

Valerian truly revolting, PSPC. People drink it in tea though! Have they no sense of smell?!

CoolCarrie · 04/04/2017 12:35

My DH is allergic to valerian, which we discovered one night when he couldn't sleep and I gave him one of those herbal tablets, his lips were puffed up and his throat was closing so off to a & e with him... He likes to remind me that I tried to poison him !

LanaorAna1 · 04/04/2017 12:47

Mr C has just refused a ham slice unless it was shredded and fed to him by hand.

Hope it's good drying weather for you today Cozie. Have you considered an afternoon film? Maybe go to the cinema to ring the changes?

LanaorAna1 · 04/04/2017 21:20

Hope your day was satisfactory C.

Had a cringeathon at the GPs, where I had to display and report on 'pet injuries'. Blush Apologised for wasting NHS time on Mr C's behalf; Dr Patel said graciously 'It's fine, we know you'. Grin

Hope you get a decent sleep tonight and make inroads into more of the mattress.

cozietoesie · 04/04/2017 22:33

A fairly good day, thanks. Just have to clean carpets tomorrow and then I'm done.

I must say - Dr Patel sounds great. Smile

Cozie, I am so sorry to hear about the sad loss of Seniorboy. I don't post very often but am a regular Litter Tray Lurker (and slave to 16.5-year-old FizzyCat!). Thinking of you Flowers

LanaorAna1 · 05/04/2017 11:51

Good luck with the carpets Cozie, keeping busy will definitely help.

I don't want to be bossy, but why not do something entirely nice for yourself afterwards. Possibly involving a screen and baked goods. Netflix is good at the moment.

I've got to clear out the back room of not one but two charity shops. It may take some time. No one has touched them for five years. Catnip for little me :)

RubbishMantra · 05/04/2017 12:36

Ooh, I second L in doing something nice and restful for yourself C, after you've done the carpets, grief is incredibly exhausting. You could listen to some Gary Numan and look at pictures of him! Though I know that might be torture for some... but friends can be electric... like all of us on here, via our various devices. Smile
