I really don't like my kitten getting into bed with me am I horrible?

Her siblings sleep with their slaves but I can't cope with her trampling all over me. I do feel mean but I work three nights a week I feed her when I get home at 9 am and play for her for half an hour that's all I can give her I repeat the processe on the evening before I go to work it's just for about two hours she gets herself out of the kitchen and into my room. I have my eye mask on and she will dive bomb me out of nowhere then pull my hair it's terrifying!!! Goes on for about an hour until I give her loads of treats and barricade my door. Any tips? When I'm not at work we have lovely times together and she actually goes to bed at 10 and I do t see her again until I get up. I can't expect her to work shifts like me. She's growing beautifully and the vet said she's the most sociable kitten she's ever met its just my sleep I need it when I'm working.

We got a kitten recently for dd. Kitten stays in a nice fur lined bed in the shed.

No animals will ever share my bed. It's not hygienic.

Mine sleep with me. If I worked shifts though, it may be a different matter.

Sorry, no tips. If I shut Little M out, he does a sort of demented digging thing on the door. When he sleeps with me, he walks up and down the length of my body until I wake up. Then he goes to sleep.

MCat sits and stares at me. Disconcerting indeed.

Oh no I can't get another one. I never thought I'd have one and we adore each other. A friend lives with me so its not every time but she's a nurse as well so sometimes we end up working the same shifts I think we are luckier than most in that respect that we do 12 hour shifts and should have four days a week. She doesn't cry when I go to work anymore and my house is like a crèche. It's not a problem on a night she goes to bed before me and I like to think she sleeps all night because she doesn't try to come in then. I couldn't afford the insurance for two tbh it's already £26 a month.

I LOVE my cats but I hate them sleeping with me. Tbh, I'd happily sleep alone, always.

But my cats' fur itches me at night, and they tread on my hair and on my chest. And they wake me up purring in my face. They don't do it now, but they used to hunt, so it they were it f my room, I may have worked to half a mile, or a mouse. So they sleep in the kitchen, where they have lovely nice warm beds. And I get sleep, so I am pleasant (ish) when I wake.

But your kitten sounds lonely. Can someone pop in to play when you're on a long shift?

I don't mind my Kitten getting into bed with me. I do mind that he yowls at my bedroom door until I let him in. Then, when I do let him in and I get back into bed, he head butts me in the face when I'm trying to go back to sleep.

I love the little fucker I do, the bastard.

usually there is someone around but I've got three weeks of nights coming up and on some of those days my friend will be on a day shift. My vet said she'll grow out if it. I've always had nightmares about kittens dropping on me like proper nightmares where they come out of the cupboard and attack me. That's why I was surprised to find myself with my gorgeous girl people nearly fainted when they found out. My friends adore having theirs in bed with them but I go rigid.

Can I ask why you got a kitten as you seem pressed for time to care for one?

My cat woke me up so much I started letting her sleep with teen ds.

she's calmed down now she's older but she still headbutts him when she fancies a snuggle and the teens in the wrong position

she likes being on the top bunk with him, siting on the bars like a gargoyle

Aw. BastardCat used to get under the covers between me and DH. I miss that. Big Ginge and Little Ginge like their own space.

Fennella that's a horrible thing to say. And I think you'll find lots of nurses have cats. I've said I live with other people she's cared for perfectly. We all have to go to work.

I didn't go out looking for a kitten she was about to go to the rspca and all four of us from work took one.

Each actually your second post cross-posted with me - your first post just said you spend 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins the evening with them so it's a fairly valid question!

Part of the problem is the treats, it's rewarding unwanted behaviour.

When she's older her routine will settle. Our cats routine is

6:20 out till 9:00

9:00 till 17:00 sleep

17:00 till 21:00 out

21:00 onwards sleep.

Eventually your timetables will match up.

She is mine so I'm responsible for her entertainment it's a bonus is my friend is off even if she doesn't play with her like I do she will chat to her. It is the company I agree. We keep all the doors open and even now st 915pm she's been fed and asleep on her chair. I could close her in and she wouldn't be bothered. But I can only give her 30 minutes play twice a day when I'm on nights and it is then that she wants to get in bed with me. I don't think that means I shouldn't have a cat. Even if I didn't work shifts I wouldn't have her in bed with me. My friends have encouraged theirs to do it from getting them home and think I'm strange not liking it.

I lock mine in the utility overnight with everything he needs. He has a dog bed to sleep in which he loves.

You're not horrible at all, although I would love it if mine slept in the same room as me, let alone the bed! She's a gorgeous girl BTW.

I don't understand why anyone would get a kitten and make it sleep in the shed, now that is horrible.

I wasn't aware that I had much choice in the matter.

My pair both come and go throughout the night. I love waking up to find them next to me. One of them will occasionally come and sit on my head and take over my pillow. I work shifts, it doesn't bother me. Ad one of them snores loudly. Nothing better than waking up to really loud putting though.

I used to have a dog and three cats dotted around me as I slept. It was lovely and warm in the winter. Now I just have a 7 month old human, and the door is kept shut. Eventually the small person will go to his own room and I might let the cats back in. The dog now has a dog friend who has a slight chewing habit and so would not be allowed in my bedroom.

Siamese arrive in a new place and you can almost see them scrutinising:

BED- Check
LITTER TRAY - Check
NOSH - Check
PERSON - Check.

In that order, I'm afraid.

If poss, shut her downstairs. Get her some brain stimulating toys from pet store. Fake mice, balls to chase, scratching post, puzzles she has to figure out to find food etc. She's just very young and playful, not much you can do about that! Sorry if you've already done all this!
