Just got back from work and found her on the small county road 50 feet from my house. Absolutely devastated. She was the most beautiful, friendly little thing. Just need some support from people who understand.

Oh Dear, JonSnow, I'm so sorry. How old was she?

Sad
Sparklingbrook · 09/04/2014 17:05

Oh Jon I am so sorry, (((hugs)))

shakinstevenslovechild · 09/04/2014 17:08

I am so sorry, how devastating Sad Thanks

JonSnowKnowsNothing · 09/04/2014 17:09

Thanks all. She was about 22 months I think. Still a kitten. I think she'd been there a while as she was stiff though thankfully it looks like she got a single blow to the head and died instantly. She doesn't have any other damage to her. My poor Millie.
When Ive calmed down I will start to dig a grave.
I do appreciate the handhold.
The pic is the last one I took of her.

Oh no. I'm so terribly sorry. She was beautiful and you gave her a lovely life. I am so sorry it was so short :(

Sparklingbrook · 09/04/2014 17:14

What a sweetheart.

In time you will take comfort from the fact you found her and you were able to say goodbyes and lay her to rest. xx

Somebody else has posted today with their cat being taken in a road accident too. Sad

VenusDeWillendorf · 09/04/2014 17:15

She's lovely.
So sorry: thinking of you.

You're right SB. Even though I'm utterly devastated I'm thankful it was in these circumstances as opposed to not knowing, or other awful things. I'm going to sort myself out now as my friend is coming over very soon. Thank you all for your kindness.

Oh, so sad. She really does look very affectionate in your photo. I love her golden nose! Must have been such a shock to find her. Hope you're okay - is there anyone who could help you to dig her little grave, not a nice thing to have to do for yourself.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 09/04/2014 17:30

What an awful shock! I'm so sorry :(

MirandaGoshawk · 09/04/2014 17:37

How very sad. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Lesleythegiraffe · 09/04/2014 17:40

Aww poor you. She looks such a sweet little thing.

Hopefully you have lots of happy memories of her short life.

Big hug xx

JuniorMint · 09/04/2014 17:47

So sad, I'm sorry for your loss. She looks beautiful xx

AutumnStar · 09/04/2014 17:52

Oh you poor thing. I am so very sorry, love Thanks

Millie looks beautiful. I hope you can take some comfort in the fact you gave her a lovely home and life, even if that has been so tragically short.

Sending you all my love. I know how hard it is to lose a pet x

Pickofthepops · 09/04/2014 18:28

From another cat lover.. My thoughts are with you

notapizzaeater · 09/04/2014 18:29

Have a (((hug))) so sorry x

JonSnowKnowsNothing · 09/04/2014 18:58

Thanks for being so lovely.
I was going to tell my friend not to come over but he came anyway, bringing wine. He dug a grave for Millie and I got to say a little goodbye and give her a cuddle. My poor, poor baby. I feel a lot calmer though - she lived a happy life here on the farm.
A truly shit day but my mate and you lot have helped me more than I can express.

Glad you had someone with you, Jon.

Thinking of you. It will get easier eventually. Brew and Wine

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2014 20:14

It's a horrible situation to go through. Poor Millie.

Like sparkling said at least you found her and had a cuddle.

Did he bury her deeply enough? I'm just thinking about foxes.

timtam23 · 09/04/2014 20:14

So so sorry JonSnow
She looks beautiful in the photos
Thanks for you

Wherediparkmybroom · 09/04/2014 20:15

I buried my border collie Friday, I'm with you! Mine was put down but there is still a gaping hole.

Mignonette · 09/04/2014 20:20

I am so terribly sorry JonSnow. I have been here myself not that long ago- 18 months and I hear you. It is awful.

Take good care of yourself. Time blunts the loss but I do have moments when I miss my cat intensely so nobody on here I imagine will expect you to 'get over it' in any defined time frame.

Flowers. She sounds like a really fine cat.

waxlyrical · 09/04/2014 20:32

So sorry. I lost my little girl cat a few months ago and it is devastating but does get less raw over time. She looks a beautiful happy girl.

poorincashrichinlove · 09/04/2014 20:35

So sorry for your loss
