Anyone snuck three dogs into center parcs

Has anyone snuck an extra dog into center parcs? Really want to book one lodge for myself, husband, daughter and parents but we have three dogs between us.

Two of the dogs are same breed so could pass as one, but I’m working out how to you get past the entrance? Do they record number of dogs in each car?

I would hide the smallest one but she’s noisy 😆 so it would be our largest one who would need hiding as she’d keep quiet.

It’s two labradors and Jack Russell. Just seems expensive to pay for a whole extra lodge just to accommodate a dog!

Decent rescues do indeed ask for your plans when going on holiday when they do a home check. And “I’m planning on not paying, because I’m a selfish tightarse” (ops own words) would indeed exclude her from adopting a rescue dog.
And you bloody take a cold shower. It’s people like me who go out to collect these dogs , in our own time and with our own money, when the shit hits the fan. Rescues are overflowing and dogs die everyday, because of selfish, stupid “owners”. Don’t be so bloody ignorant.

Don’t be silly! Like they ask holiday intentions to see if people are going to sneak in an extra dog that will come to no harm sharing a lodge?

I think you’ll find it’s about who is going to look after the dog if you’re not on a dog friendly holiday or extended holiday that may cause an issue with dog settling!

What you choose to volunteer for is your choice? I volunteer for the homeless, I’ll not ask for recognition because it’s my choice! Also feed their dogs, but they never get a holiday!

I think you’d be fine then. If you don’t mind on lead walks it would be a nice holiday. Do it.

Thanks, this has reassured me :)

What made you choose Centre Parcs, it’s an expensive place to go if you are spending a lot of time in the accommodation.

We like the forest and walking round the lake. We’d also do the rapids every day for a couple of hours as well so wouldn’t completely not leave accommodation.

Just out of curiosity, is there a limit on how many cats you can take? I don't actually have a cat at the moment, or any children, and having been to Center Parcs once, in the 80s, with three of my then partner's children, I swore never to return. But if I could take an infinite number of cats I might reconsider.

Sorry I shall refrain from being a dickhead and take some responsibility I am clearly a terrible individual for even considering this as an option I shall go away and reflect on my actions….

Why are you being arsey to anyone who presents you with facts?
You asked a question and people are replying.
Yes you are being a dickhead and a dishonest one at that but you do you.

CrikeyMajikey · 10/07/2026 21:34

Take 2 cars. Yiu check in with JR and 1 Lab, then exit the site and return with the other Lab. Parents can then check in with no dogs.

Frequency · 10/07/2026 21:35

As a former behaviourist and home checker for a rescue, I can confidently say someone telling us they would be taking all three dogs on holiday with them, even if it meant sneaking one in, would not put us off. It might even tempt us into asking if they want more than three dogs.

Us rescue folk like it when people include dogs in their hobbies/lesiure time. It tells us they think of the dogs as family members and will not return them to us when they buy a new car and the dog no longer fits comfortably in the boot. Or when they get a new sofa and cba to teach the dog not to jump on it.

I’m not sure I’m being the arsey one when others are the ones calling me a dickhead

If between you you’re ok with someone either being in the lodge with the dogs or pottering about with the dogs on a lead then it’s ok. But you’d have to do swimming and any activities in relays I guess.

I wouldn’t be enough of a rule breaker to leave dogs unattended in the lodge just in case they started barking, etc.

This applies whether you take 2 dogs or 3. And if you are happy spending time with extended family in the lodge and walking around, CP works just fine. If you want to spend hours in the pool complex and doing indoor activities, then you don’t take the dogs.

Oh give over! It’s not OP being arsey! Done posters are acting like she’s a dog hater because she wants her three dogs to share accommodation on holiday and not have separate luxury lodges!

It’s ridiculous, the issue is money making centre parcs and not OP!

There actually isn’t! Only seems to be a limit on dogs 😆

You’re kidding!! surely if the dogs read the small print about sharing, they’ll be heartbroken that OP expects them to break CP rules and embarrass them if they get caught!

The trauma..

I know three people this has happened to! Three! Admittedly the last was about 18 months ago. I can only give the benefit of their experience.

Rubbish. They're not allowed to do that and it would be a bit risky wouldn't it? A stranger suddenly invading a dog's space unexpectedly is probably not the best idea!

Pyew · 10/07/2026 21:39

Could you get a mask for one and pass it off as an ugly, hairy child?

MrMucker · 10/07/2026 21:40

Apropos of not much...
Pisses me off when dog owners tell you proudly "actually I've got a rescue". And puff up slightly because of it.

Er no, you've got a dog. Sorry if that deflates you, but last time I looked, it's a dog.

I only mentioned I had a rescue as I was told I am the reason rescue centres exist. Just seemed slightly ironic in the context. The other two dogs aren’t rescues 🤷‍♀️

This is shocking! Relinquish any dogs you still own and never consider having another pet!

How do you feel that dog feels being denied existence?

In fairness I think that may have cross their minds when I had to take them out "to do their business" and they wondered why I was behaving like someone out of a bad spy movie, keeping to the shadows and whispering for them to hurry up.

I don't know why I imagined the 15 year old French kid on the front desk playing on his phone would have noticed let alone cared. 🙄

MrFluffyDogIsMyBestFriend · 10/07/2026 21:45

Do you not use MN a lot OP? Because it was obvious how this thread was going to go. Mumsnet people don't break the rules even if doing so causes no harm whatsoever. I'd say it's because many are autistic but I'm autistic (so I'm allowed to say that) and I'm not a rule follower.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 10/07/2026 21:45

If you get one labrador to stand on top of the other one and then get the JRT to stand on his shoulders, all you need is a trenchcoat, sunglasses and a hat to get them in without paying anything extra at all.
