Heatwave! How are your doggos?

How is everyone doing?

Pod is extremely hot but whining at me because he doesn't like the fan. Sitting next to his cooling mat, natch 🙄

He's bred for the heat! He'll be fine! Totally gorgeous too.

Mine are alright, if a bit dim. They like lying in the sun and then come in panting complaining they are hot. Well yes, you are. We're just doing woodland walks by the stream so no issues with burnt paws or getting too hot but still plenty of exercise.

He is however he's also a giant baby and a drama queen 😁

He must be feeling it a bit as he went into the pond up the his KNEES earlier. Unprecedented depths.

I don't think Madame would lie on one of those plastic gel cooling mats, but she loves this one. It's a silky material. This is immediately after I put it down.

Pod cannot lay on the the floor due to be 90% elbows.

There are a lot of tourists outside roaming the streets drinking cider, laughing and generally being normal and Pod is INCENSED.

Cooling mat and a wet scarf thing which keeps wet for a long time seems to be helping, the scarf stops the panting quite quickly.

Luna has mostly laid around inside with a little bit of garden sunbathing. She was absolutely fuming and terrified by the big thunderstorm earlier 😢

We’re due to be 38 here tomorrow and 40 the day after so I’m dreading that.

our goldie had a lovely long run in and out of rivers at 6am which knackered him out. He mostly slept the rest of the day but won’t go near the cooling mat either

We've got a portable air con in the living room and the older spanner is led happily and his breathing rate is OK (he's got mitral valve disease). The younger spanner is led on the kitchen floor puffing but is too scared of the AC unit to come and sit near us. We walked just after 5am this morning and it was lovely... we've got a very sheltered farm track that's surrounded by high hedges so it's shady. Have set my alarm for the same tomorrow. They've not had a walk this evening, it's still showing as 26c here.

He’s in a miff. He hates the heat. He’s a big dog (Labrador) and sometimes if he gets too hot he’s sick. He doesn’t like the paddling pool but he will let me rub him down with a wet towel.

Got all the windows and doors open! I’ll also get some damp tea towels in the freezer tonight and put some ice cubes in the water … she’s a snow doggo too so muchos floof … their coats heat regulate but we keep her home and she likes the tile floor in the main bathroom wrapped around the cool

Pippa our mini schnauzer is 10 this year and I’ve really noticed she’s struggling with the heat much more. She’s been very lethargic and a bit down in the dumps bless her. She’s got a routine check up with the vet nurse on Friday which I’m glad about.

Our border collie hates the heat, won't lie on a cooling mat or step foot in the paddling pool, but is happy to take part in a water gun fight! He spends the day moving between the kitchen floor and following the shade around the patio.

Eschewing her usual sleeping spot in our bedroom, and instead choosing to sleep in the hottest room upstairs despite having free access to the entire house...

Weirdo.

I also have a schnauzer who struggles with the heat.

She is black and absolutely wilts.
She will walk in rain, cold, snow etc but not the heat.

I walk her early and then she generally stretches full length in front of a fan in the coolest room of the house for the day!

Mine has a habit of asking me to cheer him up by hugging him...

He's also 10 and managing okay but we're not doing much.

Madam snoozed most of the day after an early run in the park then had a sniffy walk at about 10pm. Won't use her paddling pool as thinks we're going to bath her 😁 Loves to bask on the roasting hot patio ignoring shady areas of garden then come in to lie on the slate tiles in kitchen.

Coco had her first clip a few days ago and is a v v happy 🐶!

She’s also discovered the duck pond…..

Going out for their main walk in a few minutes. Then they'll alternate between sunning themselves on the lawn and lying on a tiled floor. Though yesterday afternoon they did stay in for an hour or so. Then a stroll after The Archers.

Out for a shady walk this morning and spending the rest of the day snoozing in different rooms. Hallway with stone floor is his favourite, can also bark at any pesky neighbours :-) He has a coolmat in our bedroom, which he sometimes use at night time. He was also most put out by the thunderstorms this morning.

We went to the beach at 5am for a paddle.

Our older dog is flopped in bed. She does this no matter what the weather is like.

Younger one is a bit stupid so goes out to lay next to the tent I’ve set up for them instead of inside and then goes in to recover.

I counted 8 bowls of water around the house.

Jett is kind of using her cool mat! She’s just moving round the house and flopping on the floor where it is cooler. She’s much happier if she can curl up on a sofa!

Upside down and everything to make sure to fully sunbathe 😂

I don’t have a dog but I have come just to look at other people’s dogs - and they are beautiful! pod Looks like Bambi ❤️
