Is anyone up? My boy is dying.

My beautiful boy had a fit an hour ago and has lost movement in his back legs.

He’s almost 14. We’ve called the vet and they’re coming out as soon as the can to do the kindest thing, but it could be hours. I’m sitting with him, hand feeding him treats and giving him so much love, he’s his usual happy self but his body is saying no more. If he worsens I will of course take him to the vet, but he hates the vet and I’d like him to go at home where he feels safe.

I feel like my heart is breaking, he saved my life all that time ago and I can’t imagine him not being here.

I've had black Labs all my adult life and they are the absolute best. Yours is so beautiful. That waiting tears your heart apart. Thinking of you both.

So sorry. Our beautiful black lab went over the bridge 8 years ago. She went over peacefully. She's waiting for your boy 🥰

I’m so sorry OP. We lost our beautiful old girl last year and I still miss her terribly. But I look back on all our photos and memories and I’m so grateful I got to be her mum.

Been in your position recently, it’s the worst.

but giving that boy all your love and cuddles now will be all he wants and he’ll go for his long snooze knowing his mum was with him, and he’ll feel safe and loved.

I'm so sorry. I also have a lab and she's my world. Every day, I worry about how I will ever cope without her. I don't think I will. Labs are such loving, amazing dogs so I completely understand your devastation.
