Setting the ball rolling on a new thread as the last one has reached 1k 😊.

Brodie had his first proper bath today...
I don't think he was overly impressed!

He'll be 6 months old on Tuesday. I can't believe how the time has passed, or how far along we've come.

To everyone who is struggling at the moment, stick with it, it really does get easier.

Ooh thank you for starting a new thread! I've been looking out for one but wasn't sure what the etiquette was.

Vinny is doing well. We are in a good routine two weeks in. I've taught him to sit and give his paw this weekend Grin

Here he is in yard jail refusing to poop...

@BrodiePup
Sorry I changed my user name
It's me and my dickhead Milo - I wondered why I couldn't comment on the old one 🫣
Here he is laughing at the fact he's completely taken over my life

@YorkshireFelix Vinny is coming along, he's a proper cutie 🥰
I'm not sure what the etiquette is either...sorry if I've trodden on anyone's toes!
@CaptainBeanThief Love new name!
Have you recovered from covid? Milo has a great set of gnashers.

He is getting quite amorous with his toy monkey, but looks quite confused while he's about it.
Oh the joy of puppers!

@YorkshireFelix
Your pup looks like a swine..
Is he? I bet he is

YorkshireFelix · 18/08/2024 14:52

@CaptainBeanThief he is 70% angel 30% absolute swine hahaha!

YorkshireFelix · 18/08/2024 14:53

LOL at the monkey. Brodie looks and sounds like a bit of a character already!

Pyreneansylvie · 18/08/2024 16:01

@BrodiePup , @CaptainBeanThief @YorkshireFelix

Thank you. All I can say is that Brie is a Mistress of Disguise; inside that beautiful visage there lurks a biting, digging Daemon. The opposite of the angelic Vinny (who is adorable BTW), Miss Brie is 70% swine!

Pyreneansylvie · 18/08/2024 16:06

Loving Milo's smile, @CaptainBeanThief ; has he got all his second teeth? Been so long since our last pup (10 years) that I can't remember much about the teething phase...

CaptainBeanThief · 18/08/2024 16:07

I can confirm Milo is 100% swine
🤣🤣
His recall was suspiciously good today, I even asked my husband on his walk, what did he think was wrong with him...
He is constantly licking his humongous balls and it goes through me

What on earth is 'recall'? 🤔

I feel sure I knew something about it a very, very long time ago...

BrodiePup · 18/08/2024 16:45

@Pyreneansylvie Brodie has all his adult teeth now, but I think they're still growing and bedding in as you can tell they sometimes still bother him.

@CaptainBeanThief (still think I'm taking to someone else 🤣) Milo is lulling you into a false sense of security!
Speaking of balls...are you going to separate Milo from his? I can't make my mind up, I had both my other dogs done in the past, but it was a very long time ago and it's just what was done. I do worry about him being more of a target for getting beaten up if he's intact.

Hi everyone, we have a 3.5 month Lab puppy we are raising for Guide dogs for the Blind for 12-14 months. He’s very cute but can’t post a photo as not sure how. His name is Roman 😊

Twiglets1 · 18/08/2024 17:07

It’s many years since I had a puppy so had forgotten how hard it can be! He’s a little easier now though as seems to have got the hang of no weeing & pooing inside 😅

CaptainBeanThief · 18/08/2024 17:09

@BrodiePup
I changed my name because I found my sister on here, purely through her writing style and completely freaked her out with it, and we have a running joke about "beans" (another story) anyway..
Well.. Milo used to be scared of everything and anything when he was like .. 4 months old 🤣 so the vet said not to neuter with anxiety/behaviour issues now he's a confident bundle of dickhead-ness!
Anyway - the vet did mention a couple of months ago about chemical castration as a "trial".
I don't think I am going to deprave him of his manhood - not because I want to breed him - I wouldn't wish his genes on any poor bitch but I don't want to cause any issues to joints down the line and I'd like to see what his behaviour is like when the fabulous adolescence passes ( which you have to look forward to)

Twiglets1 · 18/08/2024 17:13

For what it’s worth and I appreciate all dogs are different, but the Guide dog organisation don’t allow their dogs to be castrated before 12 months old to allow them to mature… if Labs ever do.

BrodiePup · 18/08/2024 17:27

@CaptainBeanThief it's a tricky decision, if Brodie was nervous I wouldn't even consider it. There are so many pros and cons.

@Twiglets1 You're doing an amazing job raising a puppy for such a good cause 😊. If you tap on the paper clip under the message box you can add a photo. We won't even consider having Brodie castrated until he's fully mature, around 18 months... that's if a WCS ever does mature!! So we've plenty of time to think about it.

Thanks @BrodiePup

CaptainBeanThief · 18/08/2024 17:36

@BrodiePup
If your calculations of "18" months which is very doubtful is correct ive only got 4.5 months left of torture to go
