Neighbour HATES my dog!

1000 replies

Canecorsomummy · 08/08/2024 19:20

Hi everyone!

I’ve lived in my house for over 9 years now, have owned a poodle cross for 8 of those years. April last year I got a Cane Corso puppy, spoke to this certain neighbour informing her, gave her my number and told her if there was any problems with barking etc, especially if I’m not home, then go please let me know so I can resolve it but she has done nothing but cause me problems ever since.

Last year I was taking rubbish to the bins and the CC followed me out and was being fussed over by my neighbour on the other side of my house. 24 hours later the other neighbour put a computer typed letter through my letterbox stating the car park is not a place to walk a dog, it is illegal for her not to be on a lead and if she sees it happening again she is going to report me for having a out of control dog and her being a dangerous breed!! I sent her a text message explaining the law very basically for her and explaining under no circumstances will she be putting notes through my letterbox over something which could be dealt with by an adult conversation.

Well, since April this year she has made numerous reports to RSPCA claiming I’m neglecting her, abusing her and now a report to Social Services claiming I’m not only neglecting my CC, but she is a dangerous breed and I have a young child in my home!

I have absolutely had enough now!! My back door is normally open 24 hours as I have an enclosed garden but I’m petrified to allow the dog to be able to go in and out at her free will because of this neighbour, petrified I’m going to be approached by rspca/police when I’m out walking her ….

I just don’t know what to do now.

The animals in question fit the definition of 'predator', ergo the animals can be categorised as such.

In your opinion which isn’t fact

there is no high level of killings due to a CC, you can find that out for yourself on the gov website.

She doesn’t have any children living with her either so there’s no small children refusing to use her garden because of my dog.

I linked several instances of CCs killing people just in the UK alone, recently. You are deluded if you think they are safe, and THAT is a huge issue - you don't even understand what you are dealing with.

Your neighbour should feel safe in her home and neighbourhood - you have selfishly taken that away from her.

I'm hoping the cane corso will soon be a banned breed

I'm hoping that ill-informed rabble rousers like you will soon be banned, but life is full of disappointments.

You do realise that it is this sort of shit stirring that has caused all the riots across the country in the last week. Whipping up a frenzy of hatred should be a criminal offence. If people bothered to find out the truth about something before making dangerous and unfounded allegations the world would be a better place. LIVE AND LET LIVE.

Quite likely she's also anxious not to be attacked by your dog herself. I'm certainly very glad I don't live next door to you, especially with your blindness to the danger your dog represents.

You posted 2 newspaper articles, one from the US! I’ve already told you, the gov website gives the detail of every breed responsible in recorded dog attacks.

and I am 100% not making her feel unsafe in her own home!

I posted six, none from the US, all recent, and can post many more, but I'd hoped six would be enough to make you see sense.

Oh FFS. 30,000+ dog attacks in 2023 in the UK, and just because the article doesn't specifically mention CC, that's fine, that's okay is it? Your huge dog of a breed which has a record of killing people must be okay?

ThatDamnedDog · 09/08/2024 00:59

Good lord, the sheer amount of misinformation on this post is laughable. Cane Corso’s are not a banned breed, they are actually part of the mastiff family. They are a similar size to my own dogs, and perfectly lovely dogs if bred and trained correctly.

Your neighbour is being malicious by making false reports to various agencies, and I would be making complaints about her harassment.

I would get cameras for your property and never have her off lead around your area, because your neighbour needs no ammunition.

Attached photo is a fawn Cane Corso, we tend not to eat clip or tail dock in this country. This is a completely different look to the American CC

In nearly all of those you have posted, the owners had already been warned due to previous close calls. One had very obviously been trained to attack because the owner commanded the dog to attack!

It’s you who has claimed the cane corso has killed so many people so of course if you are posting articles to back up your claim you need to make sure Cane Corso is even mentioned

Would you leave a 2 year old alone with your gentle pets?

"Nearly"? and you're just going to gloss over the others that don't fall into this get-out clause category of yours? Darwin Award incoming.

“Your neighbour should feel safe in her home and neighbourhood - you have selfishly taken that away from her.”

Maybe if she stays away from the OP’s letterbox (posting notes repeatedly and reporting her to the authorities to stir trouble is harassment). Then the cc will spare her 🤣.

“Oh FFS. 30,000+ dog attacks in 2023 in the UK, and just because the article doesn't specifically mention CC, that's fine, that's okay is it?” Well yeah why wouldn’t it be? JRT probably aren’t on it either, but I almost lost an eye to our well cared for boy.
XL, Doberman, Presa Canario, GSD, never put a paw wrong. That’s why BSL doesn’t work.

I've often wondered about the mentality of dangerous dog owners who get mauled and killed by their dogs. Why they think their dogs are special and would never hurt them (or their children / grandchildren / neighbour). So thanks for clearing that up, I now see it's just a blank wall of denial.

But Cane Corsos wouldn't hurt a fly?
