Dog Friendly Beaches in Summer

Morning!
I am trying to organise our summer holiday which will be UK based this year, and will need to be dog and child friendly.
The kids and the dog love a beach, but obviously lots of beaches in the summer and no-go for a dog.
So I’d love some recommendations so I can narrow the search. Picture of demon puppy who loves to dig

Pembroke has some beaches that allow dogs all year round. Norfolk as well

Not north Norfolk. It’s nesting season for the birds this summer and lots of the best beaches are dogs on leads or no dogs.

Eastbourne/Camber are fine. No animals there

Saundersfoot near Tenby has some beaches that are dog friendly- not the main beach but there is a beach off the harbour, glen beach where dogs are allowed. Also you can walk to Wisemans bridge beach ( dog friendly) Amroth ( partly dog friendly) and parts of the beaches in Tenby also allow dogs.

weve used all of these. Amroth was dog friendly for the last 2 groynes at the far end of the beach away from the village beyond the caravan park near the new inn.

Yes that's right @Billybagpuss . It's lovely that end of the beach.

Sea Palling in Norfolk was perfect for our hounds as the no dogs bit is only a 200m bit to the left of the entrance, but the right is miles and miles of lovely beach. The kids really liked the doughnut shop etc and its a small place so not overwhelming. If you'd be booking a cottage, can I recommend East Ruston cottages and Pack Holidays, both specialise in really dog friendly accomodation and have loads on their website about beaches, cafes etc you can take the dogs to

Loads of beaches on the Cumbrian coast are dog-friendly year round.

We went Cable Gap caravan park a few years ago... the park was no thrills and a bit run down. BUT it is right on the beach! One side dogs allowed and the other no dogs allowed, both covered in lovely soft sand!
Definitely recommend for a doggy holiday.

Dumpton Gap in Broadstairs is very dog friendly , offlead allowed all year . If it’s not nice enough for the beach you are reasonably close to Dover castle and Dover cliffs which are both dog friendly . Kent / East Sussex is generally very good for dogs

Many Cornish beaches are dog-friendly but separated by time - Porthcurno used to be dogs up to 9.00 then after 6.00.

Newport, Pembrokeshire (beautiful too and great little town)

Druridge Bay / Cresswell in Northumberland is a beautiful huge beach and seems to have no dog restrictions. A couple of caravan sites at Cresswell as well.

Northumberland, North Northumberland, Goswick, Cheswick, Cocklaburn, you won't look back.

Cornwall and many of these are hellish busy, so it depends what you like. You'll get peace in Northumberland

Newport Beach in Pembrokeshire is totally awesome. No restrictions at any time. Lovely beach cafe and toilets on site. Rock pooling and body-boarding heaven too! Definitely go to Northumberland- Seahouses, Beadnell, Bamburgh, Alnmouth. Gorgeous, unspoilt beaches, dog friendly all year round.

Ps meant to add- Seahouses- rock pools for the kids and lovely little family friendly seaside town, crazy golf, amusements. Great sand dunes on Bamburgh beach.

Oh and gorgeous pooch by the way!

Lovely long wide sandy beaches open to dogs in Bridlington and Filey in Yorkshire.

South Milton Sands in Devon.

Yes to North Norfolk, dogs everywhere. All the pubs we’ve been to are dog friendly. Yes there are parts on beaches where dogs are not allowed, but in land there are plenty of places to walk and the Broads.
Gorgeous dog btw 🥰 we are planning on adopting one soon.

Mablethorpe? Dog friendly beach and dogs can go in 99% of all shops there! Some of the quieter villages in Yorkshire, around barmston and Flamborough. We tend to book haven as most of them have a dog friendly beach on site
