4 month old Springer Spaniel from working lines.

She gets walked twice a day. At the moment it's a 40 minute off lead walk in the morning through forests or moorland or on the beach with a ball (she gets bored on the beach without a ball as I don't think there's enough to sniff and no bushes to chase birds out of etc). Then a second evening lead walk of about 20 minutes.

We'll be building that up gradually though probably to about 2 hours a day rather than 1.

This time of year once in the morning with short trot out with torch and high viz just for a wee in the late pm/early evening.

Longer days - probably twice.

I have no idea how you have time for three or four walks!

My senior (probably 15 but is a rescue) enjoys a walk every 2 or 3 days. In the last month or so he’s slowed right down & would barely move on a daily walk.

His back legs are very wobbly these days 😥

3 - 4 times a day.
20 - 30 min morning
1 h lunch
30 - 60 evening
10 before bedtime

Rescue dog, but we suspect he's a jack russel x border collie. He could walk even more (if we didn't have jobs or had more energy!)

Giant breed. Twice daily.

We have 1 dog who is 15 months old (Staffy x BC) we walk her 1-2 times a day and either a trip to the beach, or hike in the bush.

What breeds are they? Do you have a garden? 4 walks a day for dogs with arthritis sounds cruel.

Exercise is encouraged in humans who have arthritis, so I would imagine it would help with dogs too. It's important to strengthen the muscles to support the joints to stay well.

Depends on the dog really. Mine has arthritis, he has two very short walks and he can’t cope with any more. He’d just refuse to go.

We often meet people with older dogs who take their dogs to the park so they can just sit and have a change of scene and a gentle sniff. The dogs seems happy. It's not a walk as they just perch on the nearest bench to the car really.

Ours is 3 and gets a 15 minute potter to do her business, then an hour in a glen or a beach then usually another hour later on. Unless it's raining. And a potter at night if we can persuade her out.

At the weekend it's usually a bit longer walks.
