Do you say Mum and Dad or say for instance your DH is in the kitchen would you say 'Go see Roger in the kitchen then, get a treat' sort of thing. Or something else altogether

That reminds me, I saw a lady I recognised in the pub once and I realised I knew her from walking our dogs in the same park. I leaned over and said 'Oh hello, you're Lucky's mum' and she looked at me like I was a complete weirdo until rearranging her face and replying 'Oh hello Buster's mum!' Grin

** Dogs names changed to protect their identity ofc

Patented · 10/04/2022 17:18

Mummy daddy. We're childfree Blush

DeadButDelicious · 10/04/2022 17:19

Mummy and daddy of course!

I feed her, bathe her, walk her, educate her, look after her when she's sick, clean up her poop. If that doesn't make me her mother I don't know what does! Grin

Buildingthefuture · 10/04/2022 17:21

Mummy & Daddy. My parents and PIL are Nanny and Grandad, other dogs and DC are brothers and sisters Smile And it’s been that way for more than 20 years, will never change!

LemonViolet · 10/04/2022 17:23

“Human” and “other Human” and sometimes “best Human”, depending on who is flavour of the minute. The other dog/cats are brother s and sisters though.

Hedgesgalore · 10/04/2022 17:24

Mam and Dad

LoveSpringDaffs · 10/04/2022 17:25

@NorthernPlights

We must be the odd ones out as we our first names and it makes me cringe a bit when people use mummy and daddy about us 😁

But then we don't have kids, so maybe it's connected to that?

(We do call the cat his brother though!)

Then you don't have a leg to stand on!!

You cannot cringe at Mummy & Daddy, then call the cat his brother 😂😂

@LadyLothbrook

Mummy & Daddy, using names is making them less a part of the family IMO.

TyneTeas · 10/04/2022 17:26

Reminded me of this Grin

peoplearepeople · 10/04/2022 17:27

We're their buddy or friend. Ds is their brother though for some reason. Smile

uncomfortablydumb53 · 10/04/2022 17:28

Mummy

shinynewapple22 · 10/04/2022 17:46

Mommy and daddy but always refer to DS by name .

Before we had ddog I found people who did this very weird indeed!

certainshepherdpups · 10/04/2022 17:47

Just our names, not Mum and Dad. The dog is definitely one of the family but he isn't our son!

TurningUpMyStereotype · 10/04/2022 17:47

Mama and Dada.

Parkmama · 10/04/2022 18:07

Mummy / Daddy ❤️

majorquimby · 10/04/2022 18:11

Mammy and daddy here too mostly. And DH is also BH (Big Human) and I am LH (Little Human)

Purplecatshopaholic · 10/04/2022 18:12

Mummy and Daddy. Of course! Everyone I know does this, lol.

BiteyShark · 10/04/2022 18:16

Mummy and daddy.

LemonLymanDotCom · 10/04/2022 18:19

I use names for friends & DP… and he knows them too! But my dog doesn’t know my name, so slightly in a slight pique of megalomania, I call myself God when I’m around him 😂

LemonLymanDotCom · 10/04/2022 18:20

Plus he knows my mum as ‘mum’, so I couldn’t be his mum too or it’d get confusing

MarmiteToTheEdges · 10/04/2022 18:21

@MrsTerryPratchett

DD owns our dog (at 8 yo) so I'm grandma. She's Mummy and DH is daddy. Which yes, is a bit weird.

Mummy and daddy
DS1 is big brother
DS2 is little brother

IamEarthymama · 10/04/2022 18:26

Mamma and Mamma here!

And our friends and relatives are his Aunties and Uncles, while the children and dogs are known by their first names.

He's so lovely and brings us so much joy 🐕‍🦺💖🐕‍🦺

Grotbag81 · 10/04/2022 18:26

Our pet names are Mummy (glad I'm not the only one 😊) and he's mutface.
