Do you say Mum and Dad or say for instance your DH is in the kitchen would you say 'Go see Roger in the kitchen then, get a treat' sort of thing. Or something else altogether

OP posts:
WirlyWillowtree · 10/04/2022 16:41

Mummy and daddy

WirlyWillowtree · 10/04/2022 16:41

I was also nanny to the kids dogs before I was a real nanny 🤣🤣🤣

Stressybetty · 10/04/2022 16:42

It varies because we own 3 generations! mum, her daughter and her 2 daughters. So DH is always dad but I'm only mum to the oldest and our other unrelated dog 🤔

Simonjt · 10/04/2022 16:45

Daddy and Papa here

Willowwarble · 10/04/2022 16:47

Mummy, I am.a single dog parent but my two best friends are Aunties and D dog gets v excited if I tell him we are meeting Aunty Sian for a walk 😊

TheBigDilemma · 10/04/2022 16:48

I don’t think she knows my name as it is mostly the two of us. She knows DS by name. She thinks my boyfriend is actually her boyfriend so I just refer to him as “your boyfriend” when I am talking to her.

Saucery · 10/04/2022 16:49

Names here. I’m not her Mummy and DS isn’t her Brother Hmm

cheeseislife8 · 10/04/2022 16:49

Mummy and Daddy, and our own mums are Granny X and Granny Y. All our pets are siblings, despite being 3 different species. I'm glad we're not the only ones!

FairyCakeSprinkles · 10/04/2022 16:50

He's our dog, we are his humans.

The DC are his mini humans.

Roystonv · 10/04/2022 16:50

Boss and Mrs. Brought up with this and just carried it on when got our first dog well over 30 years ago now!

LaurieFairyCake · 10/04/2022 16:52

Mummy and Daddy obvs Grin

Cuddlywaterfall · 10/04/2022 16:54

Mummy and daddy 😁. My parents are Grandma and Grandpa 😁😳

SenecaFallsRedux · 10/04/2022 16:57

Mamma and Daddy (Southern US)

Snooks1971 · 10/04/2022 17:03

Mummy and Dadda. The (elderly) cat is her big sister. The DC are either brothers or sister.

Obviously. Grin

Feckaffoutofit · 10/04/2022 17:03

Jesus no! We do not call ourselves mummy and daddy. We use names.

MrsWinters · 10/04/2022 17:03

Depends who I’m speaking to. Dog knows me as mum. But to the vet I am his owner- I can’t stand the term pet parent, it’s up there with fur baby on cringe level.

wetotter · 10/04/2022 17:05

Mum and Dad

Because I tend to call DH by name only when I'm calling/speaking to him. If talking about him, or giving instructions concerning him to the DC, then he's Dad. And the dog is more just as important as the DC, so gets the same naming conventions

SpringHasEventuallySprung · 10/04/2022 17:07

Mum and dad but he calls us by our first names if he’s really angry with us 😂

Cottoneyejoeswifestampon · 10/04/2022 17:08

I cannot imagine using our names when we refer to eachother for our kids as mummy and daddy, she is our third child. I love being her human mummy, she loves and adores me like I am her mum!

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 10/04/2022 17:09

@SpringHasEventuallySprung

Mum and dad but he calls us by our first names if he’s really angry with us 😂
If the dog is getting on my nerves, I tell him to go and see his father Grin
Foreverlexicon · 10/04/2022 17:10

I’m Mummy. DP (same sex relationship) is Mooma Blush

LeftFootForward · 10/04/2022 17:13

@GeneLovesJezebel

Mummy and Daddy, and the kids are his sisters/brothers !
Same here. The cat is my children's furry sister 😂 Tbf to my husband he takes no part in this sort of thing.
WestminsterCrabby · 10/04/2022 17:14

Mummy and daddy, and DD is his little sister Grin I always wondered if it was weird but seems we aren't alone!!

My dad calls him his 'Grandpup' Grin

TheTempest · 10/04/2022 17:15

We are mum and dad, and DD is their sister. They are also brothers and sister, although our old girl is mum to one of them so she is dogmum lol.

VioletCharlotte · 10/04/2022 17:16

Mummy. DS is his brother. My parents are Nanny and Grandad and he's their Grandog.
