Or a rabbit, or a goldfish, or a cuddly toy.

Oh my god, I'd be having a heart attack at that. He could have got injured on the road. But yes, clever, clever boy!

Aria20 · 26/11/2021 12:53

@WomblingKnobhead oh my god amazing he found his way home tho but very scary.

SirChenjins · 26/11/2021 12:59

Oh my goodness Shock Great that he managed to find his way home though!

cheeseisthebest · 26/11/2021 13:59

Is your husband cooking and doing everything for you for the entire weekend? He's not having a good week is he!!

I know! He's normally pretty good but his mum is poorly so I think he's been distracted and grumpier than normal...so I was already a bit 😒 with him then this!

He's bought and paid for reversing sensors on the car he bought me in October (that I pranged on a street sign 7 days ago). 😂 I think he's totally making up to me. On reflection...its me that is the old bag 🤣

Aw, sounds like he perhaps has due cause if he is worried about his mum. But he is on borrowed dog-time :)

tizwozliz · 26/11/2021 16:41

Used to be one of my fears when walking pup on my own, that I'd have to return home sans dog and let the OH now. Reasonably confident these days that she wouldn't stray too far.

Pup was described as spirited at our training session today so that tells you how well it went! Secretly pleased that she nicely demonstrated that she will not drop things for food, even if you keep dropping multiple bits of JR pate in front of her nose. All the drop training advice makes it sound so easy.

Goawayangryman · 26/11/2021 16:44

hahaha. I love it when they don't behave for the trainer :)

Aria20 · 26/11/2021 17:12

@tizwozliz what wouldn't she drop?

tizwozliz · 26/11/2021 17:14

A tennis ball

tizwozliz · 26/11/2021 17:15

No, I lie. It was a rabbit fur covered ball.

Aria20 · 26/11/2021 17:53

Clearly a prized possession!

Aria20 · 26/11/2021 17:54

Embarrassing puppy problem puppy has just been biting her tail and bum area and it's now red and sore looking! What could have caused her to do this to herself and is there anything I can do to stop her biting it again and making it worse?! I've distracted her now with a lamb braid so hopefully she will not go back and bite it again.

Aria20 · 26/11/2021 18:13

Just googled looks like it could be an anal gland issue Confused yuk yuk yuk!

WomblingKnobhead · 26/11/2021 18:30

Worms, anal glands...? This makes a change from bitey, lack of sleep, poo and vomit chat 😆

OP posts:
casinoroyale4ever · 26/11/2021 19:47

Is there a bad smell? My old dog went through a stage of not being able to clear his anal glands, vet used to drain them I think. Fun times!

He was worth it. We changed his food to one that made for firmer poos and didn't have the issue again.

Aria20 · 26/11/2021 19:59

@casinoroyale4ever it doesn't smell fishy like usually described re anal glands. Her poo is normally fine but unfortunately had softer ones last couple of days due to what I think is a beef intolerance and she has had rotten wind which I put down to the beef but could be the anal glands. I've given her a handful of bran flakes as groomer recommended that as an increase in fibre to try and help her release the glands naturally. We're seeing the groomer Wednesday who will do it if needed so I'm hoping I can avoid an emergency weekend vet trip and £££

casinoroyale4ever · 26/11/2021 20:32

The smell can be awful - maybe they're not so bad just yet - fingers crossed the bran works!

LadyCatStark · 26/11/2021 20:41

Stolen from a Labrador FB group and very true!

Too funny not to share 😂😂

Before you buy that puppy you promised the kids for Christmas, take this test to find out if you can cope with living and looking after your puppy.

  1. Buy a lead and tie it to a big stone, walk around dragging the stone behind you.
  2. Get up at 5am, go out in the pouring rain and walk up and down a muddy path, repeating good girl/boy, wee wees...poo poos, quickly please
  3. Stuff your pockets with plastic bags and pick up all the poo you can find, obviously not your dogs as you have not bought it yet 😊
  4. Start wearing your shoes indoors, especially during muddy times
  5. Collect leaves off the ground and spread them on the floor
  6. Carry sticks and branches indoors and chop them up on your carpet
  7. Pour cold applejuice on the rug and floor....walk barefooted over it in the dark
  8. Drop some chocolate pudding on your carpet in the morning and then try to clean it in the evening
  9. Wear socks to which you have made holes using a blender
10. Jump out of your favourite chair just before the movie ends and run to open back door 11. Cover all your best clothes with dog hair, dark clothes with blond hairs and light clothes with dark hairs 12. Tip all just ironed clothes on the floor 13. Make little pin holes in all your funiture, especially chair and table legs 14. When doing dishes, splash water all over the place and don't wipe it. 15. Spread toilet paper all over the house when you leave the house and tidy up when you get back home 16. Forget any impulse holidays and/or breaks 17. Always go home straight after work or school 18. Go walkies no matter what the weather, and inspect every dirty paper, chewing gum and dead fly you might find 19. Wake up at 3am. Place a correct size bag of flour on top of yourself and try to sleep, whilst wiping your face with a dishcloth, which you have left next your bed in a bowl last week.

Repeat everyday over 6 months and if you still think getting puppy sounds like a good idea, Congratulations, you might be ready to get your puppy.

WomblingKnobhead · 26/11/2021 21:10
  1. 🤣😂
OP posts:
Goawayangryman · 26/11/2021 22:28

Well. That is a very accurate list. At least 15. Probably more.

Goawayangryman · 26/11/2021 22:34

Missing from list:

  • weep in horror as pup finds the hidden fox poo among the garden and kindly tracks it back into the house on their paws. Ditto cat shi....
WomblingKnobhead · 27/11/2021 06:50

Up at 6.15am for wee but not in the night. First night for aaaaaages.

Think it was @Aria20 that mentioned about timing of last meal. Tried that with no change, still a poo on evening walk, approx 2am and 5am 😒 based in that advice I've been reducing lunchtime meal though so this might have helped.

He doesn't like the wind so I had to stand in garden as well. Big gust and he flew back ...straight into the patio door ...in his fright

I’ll add -

Stick multiple needles in your feet and ankles simultaneously throughout the day
