Life pup has thrown his tea up on the sofa and is now sleeping. No idea why up chucked but sleep now is fine

tizwozliz · 20/08/2021 21:17

We give braided lamb twists and they don't seem to affect toilet habits in our pup.

MakeMeCleanTheHouse · 20/08/2021 21:26

Bigpaws is mega zoomie tonight Wine ....

LadyCatStark · 20/08/2021 21:28

@TheBigMacDougal Billy works on a Yak chew from precisely 9-10pm every night. You could set your watch by him 🤷‍♀️.

SpreadHummusNotHate · 20/08/2021 21:35

Braided lamb has always been fine here - I think the only chews that have had an less than favourable outcome the next day (ie for the poo picker upper Grin) are tripe sticks and pizzle

cheeseisthebest · 20/08/2021 21:52

We have an antler horn but he doesn't seem that interested now. He was at first.

MeredithMae · 20/08/2021 22:01

Hello everyone and thanks for the new thread! I'm all caught up now.

MaePup still a little terror. 15 weeks old today. She consistently wakes at 5am for a wee and poo, then back to bed til 7. Tried food earlier/later etc and nothing has an impact so 5am wake ups forever it feels like.

She's also got a new habit of biting the back of our legs as we walk around- made DS cry and bit holes in mine and DWs leggings. SO ANNOYING.

MeredithMae · 20/08/2021 22:03

She also had a wash and blow dry and looks absolutely mental Grin

Oh my goodness, cuteness overload! Billy was just up chewing on his chew and DS couldn’t sleep so we found a programme called Dogs With Dangerous Jobs. Well, Billy was absolutely fascinated! He loved watching the dogs especially when they made soggy sounds 🥰.

LadyCatStark · 20/08/2021 22:05

*doggy not soggy although some were water recuse dogs 😂

GuyFawkesDay · 20/08/2021 22:07

That's a very Tina Turner a la 1986 look there, MaePup!!

I'm definitely investing in am buffalo horn and yak chews. Right now I doubt he will ever sleep through as he's been napping since about 8pm 😭🤦‍♀️

MrsHerculePoirot · 20/08/2021 22:48

@TheBigMacDougal anything from JR pets we’ve found goes down well. When we first gave the lamb braids it took him ages to eat them, and his eyes would start to go sleepy so I’d swap it for some kibble and then give it to him again later or next day… they don’t last so long these days 🤣. Also nylabone do a puppy pack and some puppy keys that we got…

Elmrosie · 21/08/2021 07:05

Elmpup has finished her first yakchew! She's 13 weeks and weighed in at 9.5kg when we went to the vet for her kennel cough inoculation yesterday.

Today is going to be very exciting for her - we're off to a puppy party at the dog crèche.

Aria20 · 21/08/2021 07:20

Couldn't take pup for an evening walk last night as youngest was in bed and DH had gone golf so I did training with her instead and when I thought we'd done enough I sat down and she looked at me and looked at the treat pot and barked! I was like ok you want to do more so we did another 5 mins and then she zonked lol

Lovepup is still just 10 weeks and only with us a week today. Have been sleeping with ger each night - 12 til 7 this morning. No getting up, no weeing inside! Not doing my old bones much good though!

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/08/2021 07:45

Is anyone on and enrichment ideas sites? I think it would be good while I’m working but there are loads of options

opalescent · 21/08/2021 07:47

Rain today, all day! Going to be interesting getting pup out for all her toileting...she's not a fan! 🌧

MrsHerculePoirot · 21/08/2021 07:48

I’m on the fb group called canine enrichment…

GuyFawkesDay · 21/08/2021 08:00

FawkesPup is a lark. There's no two ways about it. Crashes by 8pm but AWAKE at 5am.

He's got the full on zoomies and it's 7:45am. Running round the garden like a freaking loon, biting at my PJs and dressing gown so I have liberally sprayed my lower half clothes with bitter apple.

He's currently bothering the garden again

MightyMeerkat · 21/08/2021 08:04

@GuyFawkesDay I sympathise. My pup was up at 5 too with zoomies for an hour and it was impossible to go back to bed. Does the bitter apple work? I'm running out of clothes that don't have small tears in them!

GuyFawkesDay · 21/08/2021 08:15

It works for FawkesPup, he bites then let's go and looks most miffed. You have to redo it on soft surfaces but he definitely has left alone the size table he had a nibble at and I sprayed.

If I give him a cardboard box or something he can legitimately destroy that seems to allow him to channel the biteys quite well. Makes a bloody mess though. Spaniels do love a cardboard box 🤦‍♀️

juneybean · 21/08/2021 08:30

Dougie slept to 5.20am today, I feel like a new woman Grin it won't last, as someone else said definitely one step forward two steps back!

I bought one of the tough lickimats and he absolutely loves it, although only keeps him occupied for 10 minutes it's the best 10 minutes haha.

He's nearly 15 weeks and know we should be doing some separation but how!? He screams when he can't see me.

juneybean · 21/08/2021 08:30

@GuyFawkesDay our older dog waits by the toilet for the next toilet roll tube and suspect pup is going to be the same 😂

GuyFawkesDay · 21/08/2021 08:32

@juneybean same here, I'm worried about going back to work in 2 weeks 😩 I can't even go to the loo without him.

If he doesn't see me go he's ok, it's when he knows I'm there and he can't get to me.

cheeseisthebest · 21/08/2021 08:51

Same here! I'm just leaving and coming back and not making a fuss so it feels normal.
If I'm going to start some basic training wheres a good place to start and any advice?
