MaeDog has mental zooms post bath too!

Nordstrom · 13/07/2021 17:53

We have put Nordpup into a warm shallow bark with shower a couple of times. She isn't very impressed about it! I've booked her in to a groomer for a shampoo and blow dry next week as I have not intention of attempting it myself when she is fully grown 😬.

I have top toy tip! This...

https://www.viovet.co.uk/Living-World-Igloo-Dome/c55593/?quickfind=325066&utmmsource=sag&utmmedium=organic&utmmcampaign=surfacesUK&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIIZH3xsDg8QIV6OjtCh0L1QhHEAQYBiABEgIiyvDBwE

Literally hours of fun spinning herself, tumbling in and grappling with it! She prefers it to all of the puppy toys.

Aria20 · 13/07/2021 18:51

@Nordstrom it says for hamsters?! How big is it?

MsAwesomeDragon · 13/07/2021 19:00

AwesomePup loves to play with takeaway tubs. Unfortunately, he's now big enough to smash them so we can't let him play any more. Sharp shards of plastic would not be good for his insides Sad. Plastic bottles are safer, but he much prefers the tubs.

Nordstrom · 13/07/2021 19:04

@Aria20 ah! I thought if linked the same one we have (which is much bigger and for rabbits!)

Aria20 · 13/07/2021 19:20

@MsAwesomeDragon yep pup also loves bottles but gets a bit over excited as they are noisy but I found she likes milk bottles too and they aren't as noisy and she likes the left over drops of milk too! She shredded an empty egg box in under a minute earlier!

Aria20 · 13/07/2021 19:27

My pup has finally found love for her kong!! I tried so many different fillings all the usual recommendations of peanut butter, primula, yoghurt etc and she wasn't really interested until I put some of her normal wet food in it lol now she can't get enough of it!

Nordstrom · 13/07/2021 19:27

Ours loves scrambled egg in the Kong

ThePontiacBandit · 13/07/2021 19:34

Banditdog loves her Kong, especially with peanut butter to lick through then treats inside.

CleverQuacks · 13/07/2021 20:18

Hi all.
My puppy is coming home on Monday. She is only 6 weeks old (I know this isn’t usually recommended but a vet is fully involved and it’s on his advice that she has been removed from mum). I am preparing myself for puppy mayhem!

Jloco · 13/07/2021 20:39

Not sure what happened to my little pup tonight. I took her outside as normal and as she got near the door, she started shaking and was shaking like a leaf outside. Brought her back in and she carried on shaking in the lounge and didn’t settle for ages until she eventually fell asleep.

Really don’t know what happened; I didn’t notice anything spook her last time she was out.

She hasn’t really cried in the night at all or been interested in her scent blanket so maybe it’s delayed homesicknesses? I don’t know, really sad though to see her so scared…

Aria20 · 13/07/2021 20:46

@Jloco did she see her reflection in the door at all?

Wolfcub · 13/07/2021 20:56

Urgh I hate the witching hour, or rather the witching two hours. Evenings are such a bloody nightmare! (Just needed to rant after my fourth jumper in two weeks is only fit for the bin and the nice new lead is now not nice)

Aria20 · 13/07/2021 21:04

@CleverQuacks what breed is your new pup? Do you have to do more intense care with such a young pup?

MrsHerculePoirot · 13/07/2021 21:05
@MrsHerculePoirot my friends lab loves to roll in Fox poo at least once a week!!
@Wolfcub poor you. I've had lots of barking at me this afternoon, attention seeking and very clingy only wanting my attention no one else will do! No idea what's wrong with her... walked, fed, played with etc, offered chews/toys etc but all she wanted was me!

MrsHerculePoirot · 13/07/2021 21:09

@Wolfcub we went and bought cheap hoodies to wear when PoirotPup was tiny 🤣🤣🤣

@Jloco how is she? Are you taking her out the back to your garden? Could it be a bird? Or cat? Or fox has spooked her?

Turquoisesol · 13/07/2021 22:18

Barking is really ramping up here too. Seems to mostly be at the noises of the Birds outside of all things!

LadyCatStark · 13/07/2021 23:01

Billy loves to chew bottles too. Today he chewed up a massive cardboard box (with my permission as it kept him busy while I was doing a work training day on Teams 😴). He’s also lost 3 other teeth now so he’s missing his 4 front teeth!

Aria20 · 14/07/2021 06:20

@Turquoisesol if I could see a reason for the barking I'd be a bit more understanding that she might be scared or something and try to manage it but as far as I could see there was nothing in particular, she was just barking at me?! When I sat down with her and told her to settle and stroked her she fell asleep lol. I hope today is a quieter day!

Aria20 · 14/07/2021 06:21

@LadyCatStark haha bet he loves carrying that big box around! golf club box?

LadyCatStark · 14/07/2021 07:58

@Aria20 baseball bat (DS wanted to make a Harley Quinn bat, it’s not for attacking people with 😂). He had such fun destroying it although it wasn’t much fun for me having to pick all the bits up! At least it fit into the recycling bin easier 😂.

Aria20 · 14/07/2021 08:03

@LadyCatStark haha yes the joys of picking up soggy cardboard pieces but at least keeps them quiet for a bit!

Turquoisesol · 14/07/2021 09:55

Oh dear aria20 it’s very difficult to know how to manage the barking isn’t it. Especially if there is no obvious reason

MeredithMae · 14/07/2021 11:27

MaeDog is a barker too. Drives me potty. Desperately hoping MaePup doesn't learn to copy!
