I've just worked out
Food: £60
Pet plan: £20
Insurance: £20
Treats/toys £20

I'm actually looking to reduce this if I can. He's currently eating a food called Pure which is good quality but so expensive.

@Ifailed

I will NOT be sharing this calculation with DH!

Why?

Because he'd be bloody horrified!

We can afford the dogs, but he's never actually done the sums. No point spoiling his week...

I have a terrier sized dog (mutt)

Per month costs are;
£15 food
£11 insurance (much cheaper for mutts!!)
£10 chews/treats
£10 petplan

Occasionally use a dog walker maybe once or twice a month which is £13 for a walk.

Food £120
Medication £70
Supplements £30
Toys £40/50
Treats £20
All 3 of them are worth every penny spent on them, rescued and having the life they deserve 🙂

£15 food
£18 insurance
£10 treats
£30 every three months for flea tablet.

She's teeny and not really good oriented so pretty easy. The lowest maintenance dog I've ever had!

Oh and I have vacs4life at the vets so that's already been paid.

Vets pet plan - £13
Insurance- £23
Food -£25ish
Wufwuf box subscription --£19
Treats/toys -£20ish as I make a lot of her training treats myself

One offs

Spay- £200 (included 2 surgical suits)
Collar/lead/harnesses- about £100 as she is in a lot of rivers/the sea so need more than one set.
Cage set up - £100
Beds she doesn't use - £40

She gets more spent on her than I want to think about to be fair. My daughter deffo doesn't cost as much as she does! I find I spend less on me now as I get so much joy from her with new things I don't need rubbish for me.

I dread to think how much all of my animals combined cost me annually. No wonder I am skint!

Also have not factored in petrol for a lot of her beach trips but we made them before her however there are way more since! We have family who will watch her if we go away and will provide dog care if I have to go back to work. Our routine will fit around ensuring she is not alone.

I also spent £65 on training classes which I didn't get much out of but I do spend a lot of my time training her for tricks etc so if I charged for my time WAY more but I love our time learning!
