Apologies I just noticed the thread was running out so I am going to repost.

BunchOfBastards I had to be at home for 2 weeks after BiteyDog was done because he could get the vet hard cones off so I had to be around to 'supervise'. I found he could also get his nose down the leg sides of the medical vests and get to the stitches.

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 15/12/2018 19:58

Cocodog loves training sessions but looks mortally offended if we try roll over, she also wasn’t impressed with Bang, play dead. She seems to like commands that translate to control when out and about....which suits me just fine. No superfluous tricks, thanks mum🐶

BiteyShark · 15/12/2018 20:08

BiteyDogs loves tricks that involve running about. Spin, weave between my legs and go behind and to my side are his favourites Grin

I find if he thinks I have something nice in my hand he just keeps doing a spin in front of me even though I haven't asked him Grin

Squirrel26 · 15/12/2018 20:18

If SquirrelDog doesn’t understand what I’m asking him, he’ll run through every trick he knows. Grin Some of them are mutually exclusive, so he gets all mixed up and barks at me. Grin

We’ve tried roll over before, and never managed to crack it, but he did fall asleep for an hour afterwards, so it was good for something!

BiteyShark · 15/12/2018 20:22

he gets all mixed up and barks at me.

That made me laugh as BiteyDog does that and I have to calm him down and start again Grin.

We now do 10 minutes every night to tire him out before bed which is working a treat. Today though he's had several sessions as I am trying to get him to do them either with just hand signals or just with voice commands. Let's just say it's work in progress Grin

BiteyShark · 16/12/2018 18:09

Thank god we are at the vets again at the end of the week for vaccinations because he's scooting and biting his bum again 😭

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 16/12/2018 18:47

I have never researched /googled whether anal gland issues are genetic or whether there is a digestive component. My first lab suffered terribly with anal glands, but my little Heeler never scooted and was fed the same food. Cocodog only has scooted when overfed and loose poo but I will say, since we have swapped over to raw food in the morning and her cold pressed kibble in the evening her poo has been a delight to deal with, no scooting but maybe she isn’t prone to anal gland problems. Who knows🙄

BiteyShark · 16/12/2018 18:57

I think for BiteyDog it's probably digestive as he had a few softer pops recently but annoyingly when they are hard again it doesn't seem to clear them. When he bites near his bum he really goes for it and you can't stop him and I am always worried he will hurt himself.

Thank god I have hard floors with just a few rugs which can be steam cleaned and not carpets Grin

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 16/12/2018 19:43

Maybe the goal is firm hard poops for most of the time. We achieve this with raw(natural instinct) and cold pressed kibble (gentle) but everyone has to find what works for their dog. Hugs for your carpets because I do know how horrible anal leakage is! 🐶

BiteyShark · 16/12/2018 19:52

I am starting to see a pattern where his poos are terrible after agility. There does seem to be a manner of smelly things he finds interesting and seems to want to eat the ground there Sad

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 16/12/2018 20:15

Ah yes, we have the same...rabbit poo, leftover treats plus lots of treats for focusing etc. Cut his food right down after agility?

BiteyShark · 17/12/2018 06:51

It's so annoying. I am now wondering if it was at agility where he ate the rag looking back as he ran out of a tunnel with stuff in his mouth a few weeks back which I removed but it makes me suspicious as there does seem to be lots of rubbish (poo bags, bits of soft toys) left about Sad

BiteyShark · 17/12/2018 07:31

Arghhh I was hoping we would get through this Christmas with him being well. DH has just phoned and said he was holding his back leg up and wouldn't weight bare. He's going to daycare today so I am going to have to ask them to let me know if it happens again and if so I guess it's a pre-Xmas trip to the vets SadAngry

Soubriquet · 17/12/2018 18:46

Ugh why do some people not give a shit if their dog escapes their house?

Last week I had to take a little dog to the vets as he was roaming free around my street and had been all weekend apparently.

He was returned home (despite not being chipped)

Little shit was out again tonight, nearly hit by a car so I go to retrieve him again.

He has bitten me this time. Right on my finger

Managed to find the house where he lives and apparently “he’s a little shit. He’s always going out but he comes home eventually”

Their back gate was wide open Angry

BiteyShark · 17/12/2018 18:48

Soubriquet poor dog Sad. They clearly don't care Angry.

BiteyDog has showed no further limp so praying that it was a one off.

Soubriquet · 17/12/2018 18:57

Fingers crossed for BiteyDog

I did see a fb post once about someone who paid over £100 for a vet appointment because their dog was limping.....the dog wanted to be carried instead. Nothing wrong with him GrinGrin

and yes obviously so. I’m wondering if the dog warden will fine them for not chipping him as the vets handed him over to the warden and the warden took him home.

BiteyShark · 17/12/2018 19:07

I'm always worried as he runs about and jumps up for balls so I fear any limps.

You would hope they would get fined for no chip but I guess if they cared about that they would care about their dog escaping and getting run over Sad

Soubriquet · 17/12/2018 19:18

Do you give him glucosamine oil or devils claw?

Might help with his joints if he jumps about a lot

Soubriquet · 17/12/2018 19:19

Found that tweet..it wasn’t a limp but still Grin

Haha. I spent over £800 for an ear infection. Confused if she expects me to carry her she can think again.
Sorry I haven’t been about. Sometimes life takes over. I’ve not been well.
I have news. Amazing news. Wolfie pup got her silver and gold good citizen tonight. I’m so chuffed. I can’t tell you how proud I am.
Time for Wolfie no2?! Hmm

Queenofthedrivensnow · 17/12/2018 19:27

Hey films can you reassure me about dog puking?

BiteyShark · 17/12/2018 19:27

Well done WolfiePup and you Grin. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Mine would win bad pup citizen award tonight as he has been particularly puppyish tonight refusing to come inside. Are you sure you want another one? Shock

Wolfiefan · 17/12/2018 19:30

Mine still has her moments. Grin
I’m in pain. Starting medication that should help.

BiteyShark · 17/12/2018 19:34

Queen I saw you other thread. Vomiting can be caused by lots of things. Something that ate simply causing an upset stomach? However, the risk is they ate something that is causing a blockage.

Keep an eye on your dog. Are they otherwise well in which case give your vet a ring tomorrow if it continues. If your dog looks like in pain or goes downhill I wouldn't hesitate to contact your OOH vet but the likelihood is it's just an upset stomach.

BiteyShark · 17/12/2018 19:34

Wolfie hope the medication works Flowers
