Apologies I just noticed the thread was running out so I am going to repost.

I generally de-age SquirrelDog a bit (telling myself I don’t really know, he could only be 2 or he could be nearly 4 ).

Squirrel26 · 28/11/2018 11:09

Our trainer reckons it’s partly excitement, and partly he’s a bit anxious and doesn’t know what to do with himself, so I need to give him options (like a chew toy) so he can choose a different behaviour.

Dogs are complex little buggers, aren’t they??

BiteyShark · 28/11/2018 16:41

Dogs are complex little buggers, aren’t they?

So true Grin

BiteyShark · 28/11/2018 17:51

DH is still really struggling with his cold so BiteyDog and I are going to camp out in the spare room tonight otherwise no one will get any sleep. Secretly pleased as I get to have doggy cuddles all night Grin

steppemum · 29/11/2018 10:05

just got home form our walk - a little blown away!
At least it was dry

BiteyShark · 29/11/2018 10:07

It's really stormy still isn't it. I do quite like it when it's windy as BiteyDogs ears look like they are taking off Grin

Squirrel26 · 29/11/2018 21:50

I gave SquirrelDog a dentastix about half an hour ago. So far he's run around the room with it in his mouth, whining, run up and down the stairs with it, left it upstairs, brought it downstairs, dropped it on the floor and huffed at it, taken it to the back door and brought it back to the living room. He's just started actually eating it.

I am trying to relax for half an hour while I watch Kirstie's Handmade Christmas on TV. I feel exhausted just watching him.

BiteyShark · 29/11/2018 23:07

Squirrel I thought you were going to say he was doing all that AFTER he had eaten it. Mine is like a toddler on junk food with dentastix so he only gets one after lots of exercise when he need the energy otherwise he goes loopy hoping squirreldog isn't the same otherwise you might be in for a full night Grin

Squirrel26 · 30/11/2018 08:06

Grin I think SquirrelDog scavenged so much human junk food in his previous life that the dog kind doesn’t even touch the sides!

steppemum · 30/11/2018 09:28

Oh squirrel dog and steppedog are definitely a pair! You could have been describing my little dustbin.

He has taken to licking my feet.
So, in the morning, I'm sitting at the table, bare feet, he is under the table curled up touching my feet (and really, does it get any cuter than that, dog warming your feet under table)
Then he starts licking my feet!

I'd love to know what the doggy behaviour is that he is doing.

...... or maybe I do't want to know Grin

Squirrel26 · 30/11/2018 12:54

SquirrelDog licks my feet sometimes too. He also likes to lick my hands and arms when I get in from riding. I assume it’s something to do with the delicious taste of sweat/ horse sweat/ salt.

Urgh. Horrid animal.

BiteyShark · 30/11/2018 12:59

BiteyDog wants to lick me when I get out of the shower but he knows not too always stopped him so sulks. However, DH is fair game so all I hear is him trying to keep BiteyDog at arms length whilst getting dressed Grin

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 30/11/2018 14:21

I wish Cocodog had a cast iron stomach, she has had a runny tum since coming home from new dog sitters on Monday . Possibly ate something she shouldn’t or was overfed. She occasionally likes to lick an armpit if one hovers over her but isn’t a licky dog in general😬

BiteyShark · 30/11/2018 15:36

Hope cocodog's stomach improves soon.

I'm feeling sorry for myself as I have caught DHs cold. Trying to work when ill and also play with BiteyDog in my breaks has been very hard today. Looking forward to around 6pm when he crashes out asleep for the night and I can rest.

BiteyShark · 01/12/2018 09:16

I don't think we will have any issues with the xmas tree again this year. I just put it up non decorated and he ran out of the room as he is scared of it Grin

Soubriquet · 01/12/2018 09:45

Fucking puppy has hit the “im not going to listen to you and instead run around like a lunatic” phase.

Spent the best part of 10-15 minutes trying to catch the little shit as she ran round me in circles to avoid being caught and put back on the lead. She used to so good and now she isn’t Angry

Idiot has hurt her back paw doing it though. The pad is all swollen so I’ve got to keep an eye on that

BiteyShark · 01/12/2018 11:45

Soubriquet there is just no getting away from that phase GrinWineCake.

How's the other madam doing?

Soubriquet · 01/12/2018 12:23

Other madam is brilliant. She just sat and waited and looked rather bemused by me running around

BiteyShark · 01/12/2018 14:29

Note to self. If gifts arrive from amazon in the same box as dog biscuits do not wrap them up and put them under the tree as BiteyDog will think they are food. Fortunately only the wrapping paper was chewed and they have been re-wrapped and moved.

Soubriquet · 01/12/2018 17:41

GrinGrin

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 01/12/2018 21:27

Note to self. Do not get drunk at girls night out, do not get drunk at Christmas book club meeting with nibbles, wont get drunk at agility group Christmas do cos it’s lunchtime. Try to remember to put lights on tree before decorations, do not give a Cocodog a mini Christmas dinner because you will surely regret the poonami!

BiteyShark · 01/12/2018 22:39

Awww but I bet Cocodog thinks the poonami would be worth it Wink

BiteyShark · 02/12/2018 05:31

Uh been awake all night.

I am in that stage where I can't be more than two foot from a box of tissues my red face looks very festive. DH is struggling to move much due to having coughing fits. It's definitely bug central in the BiteyHousehold.

I am so so glad I have a dog that doesn't actually demand walkies. He has been happy to stay in the house as long as one of us sits on the floor to bat about and hide his ball. DH did that for 2 hours on and off yesterday and BiteyDog was physically panting with exertion and had to take himself off for a sleep. Think we will do the same today as neither of us are well enough to walk anywhere.

That ball is such a godsend. We were asking each other what to buy BiteyDog for Christmas but there isn't much point because all he wants is a ball and we have a stack of them already for when they get lost or punctured.

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 02/12/2018 07:35

Biteydog is very considerate. I think I would have to be carted off in an ambulance before Cocodog would give up her walks. I agree, it is very useful having a dog who loves to play ball though. Hope you start to feel better soon💐

BiteyShark · 02/12/2018 08:45

I think I can get away with no walks for a bit partly because of his ball obsession but also because daycare gives him more physical exercise than he really needs. At the moment he's following us around dropping his ball by our feet Grin
