Our collie has gone missing - worried sick :(

Our border collie vanished from one of the fields on our farm on Friday afternoon and there's been no sign of her since! We are on the glos/ oxon border near chipping Norton and I've reported her to everyone I can think of.

Just wondering what to do next? What have I missed? It's looking more likely that someone has picked her up - she is microchipped but that's only as good as someone taking her to be scanned. No tag as she's a working dog.

Anyway she's a red and white border collie bitch, 2 years old and very friendly wearing a brown and red checked collar.

Any ideas what else I can do? Tia Thanks

There is a lady with a tracker dog on Facebook.

Will try to find the details

Reaa · 13/08/2018 11:39

Clicked on hoping for good news, sorry op - hopefully mners will do their amazing stuff and help her home for you. Flowers

TillyTadpole · 13/08/2018 12:09

That's so sad OP. Hope your lil lady has turned up by now. If not - just a thought - Collies don't do well in kennels so if they turn up at a kennels as " found" they are usually transferred to collie re-homing centres where they are fostered and assessed before re-homing. Try Protecting Border Collies. They have a fb page.

Good Luck! Hope she has already turned up

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 13/08/2018 12:33

I'm not far from you and I've not seen any posts on local groups of your missing pooch. But now I know I can keep an eye out.

Cheripie64 · 19/08/2018 14:44

Still no news on Socks?
Really hoping you get some news soon, must be heartbreaking.
I keep a closer eye when walking my dogs now.
Hope you can update with good news very soon Flowers

HappyReading · 19/08/2018 14:56

Is Socks home yet?

whereareyouscocks · 19/08/2018 18:53

Nope not home yet and no recent sightings - been missing a month with only 3 possibly 4 unconfirmed sightings in that time.

God only knows where she is Sad

So sorry to hear your sad news.
Still hoping here for you x

Aprilshowersinaugust · 19/08/2018 19:20

So sorry op. Hopefully it's the no news is good news story.
Why not speak to a local newspaper??!
An article may bring results.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 19/08/2018 19:29

Would it be possible to try and use a drone?

whereareyouscocks · 22/08/2018 09:10

Socks is still missing and sightings have dried up - still walking the area and speaking to people but nothing. It's been over a month now Sad

We have drones on standby but without a sighting it's not much use.

Planning a mass leaflet drop at our local agricultural show on the 1st of September which may bring results hopefully.

Someone somewhere must know something Sad

Did you contact K9 tracker?

www.k9tracker.co.uk/

Cheripie64 · 01/09/2018 15:26

Good luck for today, really hope you find some more information on Socks Flowers

whereareyouscocks · 02/09/2018 09:59

Well yesterday was good in that we got her picture out there - loads of flyers handed out and people were really positive- it was great as a lot that we spoke to had heard she was missing so it makes me feel a lot more hopeful!

The kids went round the showground wearing t-shirts with her picture on them and the youngest even managed to get into the main livestock parade wearing hers!

Think we have also managed to get BBC Radio Glos interested so fingers crossed we can get Socks out on the airwaves.

No positve sightings of her or any info but her profile is high so hopefully if someone has her she will "appear" - just want her back no questions asked Sad

Misssing 6 weeks now Sad

We've spoken to the tracker dog folks and the drone people but without a recent sighting we haven't got a starting point Sad

As soon as we get a sighting then we can crack on with that.

Hoping hard for you!!

Dodie66 · 13/09/2018 10:53

Fingers crossed that with some help you can find her

whereareyouscocks · 13/09/2018 11:14

Have some volunteers going down there today (it's over an hour away from us Shock) so hopefully we will have good news soon.

Have spoken to another local farmer I know down that way and he's going to let the local shops know as well as the other farmers and gamekeepers in the area so fingers crossed 🤞

Have added the sighting you report to existing DogLost thread on Socks - if you have further details you want to give, can you post it there too as it will get to a wider audience? You can also ask Admin at DogLost to bump up Socks's thread on the Lost list due to new sighting so it catches more eyes.
