Our collie has gone missing - worried sick :(

Our border collie vanished from one of the fields on our farm on Friday afternoon and there's been no sign of her since! We are on the glos/ oxon border near chipping Norton and I've reported her to everyone I can think of.

Just wondering what to do next? What have I missed? It's looking more likely that someone has picked her up - she is microchipped but that's only as good as someone taking her to be scanned. No tag as she's a working dog.

Anyway she's a red and white border collie bitch, 2 years old and very friendly wearing a brown and red checked collar.

Any ideas what else I can do? Tia Thanks

I hope she finds her way back to you soon Flowers

Chapterandverse · 31/07/2018 07:38

Morning- I know you've posted on social media but do you have a local newspaper?

There's always articles and photos of missing pets in my local paper. And it helps that people who don't do social media can see too.

A dog had been lost in a forest for days and it was shared all over social media. The man who found the dog said he never would have known she was lost had it not been for a pen pic and a few lines of blurb in his local paper!

I hope you find socks soon. I am praying nobody lifted her, someone stole my sister's dog two years ago and we still look for her when we're out and about. Flowers

I hope she is home soon, poor pup. My dog was missing for 2 hours and I was sick with worry. I don’t know how you are coping.

CocoaGin70 · 31/07/2018 12:30

I'm in Glos OP and have seen your poster shared, so if that's any consolation it is being well seen on FB.

Have you talked to any specialists in finding lost dogs? There was a lady who posted a few years back about her dog being so terrified that no one could capture her and they had to lay traps. It worked.

BackToTheFuschia7 · 01/08/2018 15:12

I’m not local but have everything crossed she is found soon. Don’t give up hope, my neighbours dog was missing for a similar time with no sightings until the day she was found. This was also in a rural area.

whereareyouscocks · 02/08/2018 18:47

Just had a phone call to say that there has been an unconfirmed sighting of a red collie chasing deer along the side of the railway between Adlestrop and Moreton-in-Marsh - 4 days ago!

Someone had a conversation about it in the pub last night and the person they spoke to only saw one of our posters today so got in touch.

Looks like she's still in the area which is positive and she's hunting for herself which hopefully means she's not starving!

I keep coming back to check up on any news. Really hope its your collie and you get her back very soon

starcrossedseahorse · 02/08/2018 19:19

That is great news - she sounds like a feisty girl. Hope with all my heart that you get her back very soon.

wallowinwater · 02/08/2018 19:28

Hope you find her sounds hopeful Smile

Icequeen01 · 02/08/2018 19:54

Another one here who keeps popping on to see if there is any news. I've still got everything crossed for you! Please do keep us up-dated.

Vallahalagonebutnotforgotten · 02/08/2018 20:12

Just wish I was nearer to help search - fingers crossed .

HPandBaconSandwiches · 03/08/2018 01:07

I also keep checking to see if she’s come home. You’ve done everything you can but don’t give up!

SleightOfMind · 03/08/2018 01:19

No advice but a hopeful story:
Our old girl was lost for 3 nights shortly after she came to live with us, so we presumed she didn’t know the area.

She came home, thirsty, with raw pads. No lasting damage.
Recalled like a bastard since then Smile

SleightOfMind · 03/08/2018 01:30

That sounded flippant instead of encouraging Blush
Assuming she’s chipped, it’s good news that you haven’t heard anything yet.

ADishBestEatenCold · 04/08/2018 01:02

Am so sorry to hear of what you are going through, whereareyou.

This is a long-shot, but do you know of anyone in your area with a drone? If so would they use it to look.

Or perhaps you could ask on Facebook if people with drones could use them to check out the areas where there have been sightings.

Have heard, in the past, of drones being successfully used for this purpose.

Farfel · 04/08/2018 12:42

There is also this site, it is French but it has a UK page. They're v helpful www.lost-dog.org/en-gb/

TheGoldenWolfFleece · 04/08/2018 12:54

I hope you find her soon. A drone is a good idea.

yaffingale · 08/08/2018 20:44

Just checking in to see if there is any news?

Icequeen01 · 09/08/2018 08:18

Another one still checking in. I did see on DogsLost that there was another possible sighting on Saturday but nothing since then. Still keeping my fingers crossed. There was a spaniel stolen from my area 18 months ago which has just been found and although I hope Socks is found much quicker it does show you should not give up hope.

AimlesslyPurposeful · 09/08/2018 16:46

I shared the lost poster on Twitter a while back so popped back to see if there has been any news.

Still hoping, praying and keeping fingers crossed that Socks is home with you soon. x

Thankewe · 10/08/2018 17:39

Hope you find her Flowers

Junglefowl · 12/08/2018 14:33

Do you still have no news? I am so sad for you and do hope she’ll come home soon

mothertominibeasts · 12/08/2018 18:49

It would be nice to hear of a happy outcome. Any news @whereareyouscocks ? x

whereareyouscocks · 13/08/2018 09:11

Still no news and no sightings Sad

Have walked miles looking for her, posters everywhere and as many dog groups etc notified.

Missing 3 weeks now Sad
